  1. NFL Teams Who Need to Find a New Head Coach in 2022 https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2950258-nfl-teams-who-need-to-find-a-new-head-coach-in-2022
  2. As @Zod and others will probably attest, image licensing and copyright negotiations can get complicated. It's easier to go with the photos generated internally than it is to license from a third party. that's not even taking into account the work that goes into cropping/zooming/adjusting for banner production
  3. "Every" = except Seifert. "The only one who didn't" = nice save
  4. it makes me happy to hear KEEP POUNDING on away game broadcasts. it's not often heard on home game broadcasts. is it because fans who make the effort to go to an away game are more invested in the team? /shrug/
  5. is there blame to be had on the coaching staff? sure. is there blame to be had on the field, where a few high-expectation players are just not performing to the best of their ability? definitely. will changing coaching improve the on-field play? still to be seen... has there been any talk of a Players-Only meeting happening soon? If not, there probably should be. I'm sure Robbie has something to say - and I'd like to hear it.
  6. Of all of this season's matchups, this is one that I had a conflict that led me to not be able to watch almost all of the game. It sounds like I didn't miss anything worthwhile other than a bit of a meltdown
  7. are the Pats playing dirty? (Not able to watch the game fully)
  8. I'm still going to watch. i may not be happy about it, but I'm going to watch
  9. Blame CBS not covering the NFC moreso than they not being good announcers. they don't see these names often in their coverage.
  10. I've had to keep the game on mute today, and can't read 84 pages of comments on game action. Can someone sum up how we're looking so far?
  11. INSIDE THE NFL has been crap this year and a bit last year too. Back when it had viewpoints from all networks and/or on HBO, it was more insightful than the all-CBS version its turned into recently. Plus, the Paramount+ interface is horrible. (this isn't a knock on JB, he's working with what he's been given)
  12. Back to the OP, been watching the Braves parade festivities all day. Remember how during the 80's, the Braves were a perennial laughing stock of the league. Nobody showing up at the stadium, etc. Let's look at when they won their pennants: World Series: 1914, 1957, 1995, 2021 Those are three pretty gaps between those wins. 1958, 1969, 1982..... then 1991, 1992, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005..... then 2013, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021... They went from absolute last place in the league to appearing in the Series the next year (1991 season). Nobody wanted to play in Atlanta. But something clicked. And they started winning. And winning A LOT. The Braves of the 90's were a dominating force into the playoffs. And the team from the last few years has been pretty good too. The Panthers could be like the 90's Braves -- just a few small tweaks away from being a Dominant Force in the league.
  13. I said years ago that Charlotte is a terrific place to live, but not a terrific place to vacation. Things might have changed since that observation, but I don't think so.
  14. Agreed. We've covered the "market size" conversation in an number of previous threads. Here's one example:
  15. I understand your intention, but the Panthers and the Carolinas area they represent are not "small market". The more times that passionate fans continue to repeat this incorrect perception, the more that perception become actual reality with the casual crowd and sports writers. "not as wide-spread supportive fanbase vs, let's say, the packers?".... is probably more in line with where you were going.
  16. State Farm jokes (unless things turn bad, in which case this post isn't nearly as amusing as it could have been originally): Gives new meaning to the discount double-check You get what you pay for with the Rodgers Rate
  17. they were amusing photos, and an interesting take on one person's unique living situation.
  18. and also, save money via unusual decorating choices.
  19. Save money by living next door to your parents in order to use their parking spaces, use their washer/dryer, and not cooking at home (presumable... eating with mom and dad, but not confirmed)
  20. Then there's this 26-year old, making $120k/year as a software engineer in San Diego. He says, "I’m able to pay my rent, pay for expenses and cover the basic necessities. But I also feel like I’m unable to significantly save or invest in my future." https://www.cnbc.com/2021/11/01/how-much-3-software-engineers-earn-around-the-us.html
  21. https://www.cnbc.com/2021/11/02/video-tour-one-bedroom-rental-for-1000-per-month-in-bronx-new-york.html Let's take a look at this 40-year-old's living arrangement. Granted she says she doesn't live in this apartment because it's inexpensive, it just happened to work out that way. her 525 sq foot one-bedroom apartment in New York (more specifically, the Bronx) costs $1000 per month The median rent in the area is $1750, vs $3000+ in NYC proper Her parents live next door, so she uses their parking spaces, washer or dryer. She doesn't use her stove or her oven, so has had her gas utility shut off in the kitchen Pays about $200/mo for internet+phone_cable, and $45/mo for electricity. Obviously not mining bitcoin
  22. Y'all remember the 2004 Super Bowl in Houston between the Panthers and some other team (which many claim to be The Best Super Bowl Ever, with the game coming down to the final set of plays that we should have won, dammit. we should have won). And if not still with the Best Super Bowl ever label, it definitely was the beginning of that game being actually interesting/competitive over the next 15+ years. But the Panthers were overshadowed that year by the infamous Janet Jackson/Justin Timberlake half-time show, which has gone on to gain more notorious than anything that happened on the field. FX and Hulu have announced that they are presenting MALFUNCTION: THE DRESSING DOWN OF JANET JACKSON on November 19th. It's from the same producers as the Framing Britney Spears special that aired recently. Hopefully there'll be some Panthers clips amongst the video they show.
  23. We all get focused on the trees (O-LINE, QB, RB situation etc). But let's take a step back and see how we're really doing and examine where our issue really is right now, vs where we can be in 1-3-5 years. And for all our complaining, we've made a ton of changes over the past x years, all to mostly the same outcomes... Is our issue... Ownership? Not really. We've had similar season records (and related play) under Richardson as we've had under Tepper GM? Jury's still out in the big picture, but we've changed our GM so let's see if that leads to on-field improvement. We've had moments of brilliance this year, let's see how it plays out. COACH? Not really? Can't tell too much in season two, but all our coaches have had various positive and negative on their records. Fox and Rivera both brought us to the Super Bowl. Even Capers got us to the playoffs in year two. Seifert seemed to have all sorts of trouble in his three seasons, so it looks like Rhule is not going to be ranked as our Worst Performing coach in the history book. A specific Asst Coach/Play Caller? In some cases -- maybe. But we've changed our play callers over the years. It's not like the NFL gives each team a unique playbook and says "you have to stick with this for the next 10 years" A specific player? Let's talk QB: we've changed out QBs (more recently than not). Our last 5 years' records in 2016-2017-2018-2019-2020 was 6-10, 11-5, 7-9, 5-11, 5-11 (Cam, Anderson | Cam | Cam, Heinicke, Allen | Allen, Cam, Grier | Teddy, PJ). Yes, Cam gave us the 11-5, but he was also involved in the 6-10 and 7-9 seasons too (and partially that 5-11 one). We had issues in 2019 and 2020... so let's say the issues WERE *only* the QB position --- then we're in process of fixing that, whether it be Teddy, Sam, PJ, or some other [insert name here]. So this is still in progress. Key Offensive: CMC is a major factor last season and this, so far. Playing him as much as we have didn't allow us to build up any replacement/alternatives. Greg Olsen was a machine; he proved how solid/important a good TE can be to get a QB out of a jam. We're also short in that department, comparitively speaking. And the WR crew... we like what we're building towards, if only the can hold onto the ball. Those dropsies are fixable. They have to be. O-LINE -- yeah, our o-line needs work this season and moving forward. Have the overall changes that in place now better or worse than what we've had over the last 5 years... or is it setting the base for the future? DEFENSE -- losing Luke and TD is tough pill to swallow, but our D has, over the years, been the more positive part of our team more often than not. A tweak here and there, and some extra spare wheels to spin in and out to keep those Thieves fresh, and we should be doing okay. Changes? Do we need changes here right now? My point (and I guess the question) is while we can all call out for "change this one thing, change that one thing" after every game -- we've made a lot of changes in the past 2 seasons. Are we making the right ones, and compared to other teams -- do you think we've been making the right choices overall?
