  1. It is probably the same game. Weinke was the starter due to a Jake injury. I am sure if the box score was checked, he might have thrown it 10 times. It was an embarrassing beatdown. Run after run after run.
  2. Beating them with Deangelo Williams and Deshaun Foster running the wildcat for most of the game. Team had 52 carries for 183 yards that game.
  3. What year of the grand rebuild will next season be anyway? I know, I know. I am being unrealistic and impatient. Some of our young players still need more time. Lots more time.
  4. Can we pretend sort of kind of like in a certain kind of way it's really more like his rookie year? We do that with players every so often. Maybe next season he will be good?
  5. Very likely. I mean he is back on the West Coast. He went to a team that had some pieces in place but had underachieved. On the other hand, it's all just speculation since he was never really considered here, or offered the job, as far as we know.
  6. Maybe Harbaugh. I think the drive to get back into the NFL was probably fairly strong. Also the challenge presented here would satisfy that competitive edge on him. I would be in agreement about Peyton. I would be a little surprised if we have a well-known DC. It will take someone looking for a particular challenge, or someone looking for their big break.
  7. I know! I'm already looking forward to next season with the high hopes that he can hit the double digit win mark. Total. For his career as a Panther.
  8. But it dovetails so well with the hollering about Bust Young needs an ideal team of "weapons" surrounding him to be effective.
  9. Put our current left tackle that is unable to pass block on the right side, and make another attempt to get a left tackle, but maybe one that has some ability to pass block.
  10. I don't think we would take qb unless we were at the top of the draft. I think the trade up still stings a bit, so even being near the top would eliminate that possibility. The win is pointless, meaningless, feel good nothingness, but it is not as if we have any control over those things, or who this cursed franchise takes in the draft, and how much of a disappointment that player will eventually become.
  11. Maybe. I do think that he would be happiest doing just that, something he knows and loves, if he were to return to coaching. Stranger things have happened, and we may certainly have an opening in a few weeks, but I don't think he would return. Maybe a special consultant type of role.
  12. I don't disagree. I very much think that is the hope and the intent. March Madness in December.
  13. But that has always been the question. Does having 8 teams that have no realistic shot at winning the tournament help to define the tippy top? It seems more like a battle of attrition then. Well, this team ran the gauntlet of inferior opponents, so it is best. In that case, why stop at 12? Have the entire top 25 battle it out. I guess what I am saying is I like more games as much as everyone else. This doesn't work for me though, and doesn't offer the compelling contests that we expect from playoff football.
  14. I would say there is not a single team outside of the top 2 or 3 that have a chance, so why have all the others in to begin with? Pointless games except for 1 huge item..$$$$$.
  15. I don't care 1 bit for Tennessee, but I am absolutely not going to wish OSU wins
  16. Of course. As originally stated, there is a push to make this akin to the basketball tournament, which it cannot and will not ever be. I would rather see the old way that everyone thought was unfair, and have bowls and votes after everything was over, than sit through these games that are there to sell me soda, cars and medicines.
  17. I completely agree with that, on the other hand, specific to this year, a 3 loss SEC team still has 3 losses and I am not convinced they should be in a conversation about a "National Champion."
  18. Then it becomes, as Finebaum has a bit sarcastically said, the Alabama Invitational.
  19. It could be. There will certainly be something for the Alabama crowd to gripe about. There has been a real emphasis on trying to create the same excitement for this that is a part of the basketball tournament. The thing is, we have seen the little guys in college football already fail repeatedly to knock off the big programs, so I am not sure why expanding the field to officially include them would necessarily bring different results. There's already talk here and there about expanding it further to 16, and there is no good reason for that either.
  20. Supposedly, Gruden called the Jets to thank them for getting Jenkins out of the division.
  21. No one here really talks much Panthers unless they are winning. SEC football, that's another story completely. Lo and behold, we will get the game here.
