  1. That was some good run defense, Panthers. 50-3 on the way.
  2. There might be the smallest of chances for a win if Mariotta is in there the rest of the game.
  3. I remember when Clowney threw the football over that mountain.
  4. We ran through this Cam a little faster than anticipated. Why not give another a try? https://x.com/JustBlande/status/1847543326729269293
  5. We need those drafts to be repeats of the Morgan-Jenkins-Smith draft too.
  6. Some perspective on being on a losing team that fans do not experience. Excerpt from the story of Mitch Richmond and his time with the Sacramento Kings: It was unbelievable. I walk in, and the first thing I hear from one of the players, they go, “Welcome to hell.” And I’m like, “Aw, s—. Damn.” I’m like, “What? Oh my god.” So, I sit down. Now, I’m just sitting there. I have my clothes on and Spud Webb comes down sits right next to me. Spud whispers to me and goes, “Man, I don’t wish this on nobody. But I’m glad you’re here with me.” https://www.nbcsports.com/nba/news/mitch-richmond-teammates-greeting-with-kings-was-welcome-to-hell
  7. It's a mistake in the sense that there is nothing there to salvage. The franchise needs to put him behind and move on, and I hope that is what happens. Not another year of well-let's-see-if-this-works.
  8. Waste of payroll for years and years and years.
  9. I didn't want him. I said you don't see success at that size in the NFL. Plenty of us also didn't want him for various reasons. Mistakes were made. Just have to move on and try again.
  10. Get set for Ian Thomas' triumphant return! Thomas is going to be out there blocking Falcons left and right, up and down the field all day. He is really, really good at blocking they say. With Thomas back, we will be able to put our feet up, smoke cigars and talk about the good old days by the 3rd quarter.
  11. Lot of bad names being left off that list for whatever reason.
  12. It's not the player. He may very well be the next great Longhorns running back. It's everything else. He was picked as though we had a luxury of riches.
  13. Can watching Netflix all summer on a phone be considered using tech to gain an advantage?
  14. The unfortunate part of not spending big on FA guards would be hearing lots more about how Bust Young can't be expected to perform behind this shitshow line.
  15. Different type of athletes back then. They were probably playing weekends off from their factory job, taking smoke breaks on the sidelines, and enjoying halftime beers and a burger.
  16. 68 for the year. The 2020 Lions and 1981 Colts. Edit: I think we are at 20. we are a little off that pace, but it is a very reachable mark.
  17. 2012 Saints gave up the most yards on record. Somewhere north of 7000 total yards. We aren't on track to beat that, yet.
  18. It will almost exclusively be candidates with little experience that are being attracted and sold on the unique opportunity to be a real NFL team executive! This was very much the case with the Raiders as Old Man Davis went around the bend, and probably still is the case.
  19. The value that makes a left tackle a premium position is that he is seen as the protector of the quarterback's blind side. It was a very Panthers thing to do to draft a left tackle that had a known deficiency in pass protection. He has been better than last year, so far. The line as a whole as been better so far too. I do think he has been miscast a little as a left tackle. Maybe he gets a shot on the right side at some point. He does mostly well in run blocking assignments.
  20. Saints look very ordinary and completely mortal when we aren't the opponent.
  21. I like Belichick as part of the Manningcast. He is kind of the cranky old dude with the occasional zinger, like commenting on the Colts piping in noise at the RCA Dome.
  22. But we got to draft a guy we thought the Cowboys wanted! Ha Ha, Jerry Jones. Go suck an egg! Of course, we are like the only team in the league that is stupid enough to use high picks on running backs anymore. But we got him, and to top it off he was injured, we knew he wasn't able to play, and we took him anyway. How do you like them apples, Jerry Jones? It is just so hard to see why we have such a terrible roster.
  23. Many years back I heard Colin Cowherd arguing whether or not Mario Williams was worthy of being the #1 pick in that year's upcoming draft. His take was he didn't know how good he might really be, because Williams played in the ACC, and got his stats by playing against the Georgia Techs and NC States of college football. The local guys don't get the exposure though, they don't have the platform. When the day comes, however far down the line, when we are good again, it will be met with disbelief and disdain.
  24. You know it's bad when we are wondering if Daniel Jones and Zach Wilson might be available next year. The horrifying part is they would be tremendously better options than putting Bust Young on the field again.
