I agree and he is certainly not ready to start right out of the gate, but people are talking about Milroe in the first round. That Saints' story is going to make teams that want a qb start to sweat.
I watched every Ole Miss game this last year and i was never convinced Dart will be a productive starter in the NFL. Minshew might be a good comp.
He reminds me a little of Jake Locker. He does have some physical skills, and a little mobility. Locker I think made it a couple of years. I sort of expect the same from Dart.

Thats hilarious
Dart at 9 is ridiculous in my opinion. He was helped immensely by the Kiffen system. Seems like a bunch of the commenters do not expect him to make it past the 1st round though.

Saintsreport are convinced they are taking Dart at 9.

In this scenario, a team wanting a QB becomes an opportunity to trade down if the opportunity is there and compensation good enough
My justification is simple, I have seen several tier rankings of the DEs. After the top 2 or 3, well. The depth is good
If no trade back then and staying at 8
1. Take BPA regardless of position and in this case OT trumps WRs…learn from Philly build that line and Moton isnt getting any younger
2 or defense is the focus, the line would be great but, best cornerback available, and CB trumps most other Def positions
let’s face it, Horn does have his history
….and i dont know about you all, but im sick of seeing Evans running through the secondary like Secretariat in the Belmont Stakes
If it came right down to brass tacks and this was the scenario, I would prefer to go with the LT. Not only because I tend to agree that if you can build dominating lines, it allows the team to operate. I also think that it is a very Panthers thing to have a LT that has a weakness in pass blocking, but we just hope with all our being that he gets better. We could play him at a strength instead of tolerating a weakness.
This is the least likely thing to happen in the Panthers draft, and I would instead expect to say "Hello, Mykel!"

Well, apparently not everyone
Pretty sure there were some calls for us to take him first overall.
There are always a couple. But even they probably knew he wasn't ready to play day 1.

Speaking of quarterbacks...
Wondered If perhaps he also talked about Bryce but given the source I wouldn't necessarily bet on it.
Water is wet. Everyone knew he was not ready to play. It was entirely a gamble on potential.

You aren't going to ever get him out of the equation. As he has stated previously, he believes it his right to make the final call on decisions.

The NFL knows that it is a guaranteed story if he isn't taken in the 1st, and sits there the entire time.
The NFL knows that it is a guaranteed story if he is taken in the 1st, and some desperate team for a QB takes the chance.

Steelers sure seem like a team that would just sit and wait and maybe that means Dart, or Sanders or 1 of the other guys. Can't see them making a trade like that.

He's gonna be the pick at #8, so I guess we can start looking at #57.
I think he is the pick if he is there. Mayock also predicted that there would be no trade-ups into the top 10.

Mike Mayock was on Eisen's show this afternoon, and said Walker was a "plug and play presence at edge," and would be the pick at 8.

Reason? There's not 1 single player in this draft worth trading up for, including Carter. Is that enough for you?
Now now. We have to hold on to the dream that some idiot team, not us but some other idiot team, will be itching to trade up to 8 for a ransom in order to draft a player that could and should be our next big bust.

Skip ahead to the 5 minute mark, and then again to 6:50. It sure sounds like Walker is the pick if he there.

You hope Jeanty is there and the Cowboys or Bears want him.
Or one of the QB needy teams make a move for Sanders or Dart.a team in need of a OT could move up for Will Campbell.
I am not sure of where Sanders will go. I would be surprised if he is there at 8.
Dart would be a Panthers/Browns/Jets level of stupid at 8.
A tackle at 8 I could see. Of course, a tackle would not be terrible choice for us. Move Ikey and his pass block deficient self to right after next year and put our 2nd year left tackle, that can hopefully pass block in his spot on the line.
-
-
The problem with trading down is that it needs a team willing to pay some sort of premium to move up for a player they feel is worth the spend. If we are sitting at 8 and every player available is an unworthy garbage reach, what team is dumb enough to move up?

What wr prospect is big, not too fast, can't catch and has an injury? That has Panthers draft pick all over it.
-
Defense. We are so deficient on that side of the ball. You have a strong defense, you can muddle up games and grind things out and punch above your weight class a little bit. I am fine with Walker or Graham. If it is offense, Warren or a tackle.

The demented side of me wonders what Tepper does if we only win 5 games next year. That said I think we hit 7/8 rather easily
I think we go back to square 1 on another multi-year rebuild.

Actually being worse seems highly unlikely.
Only improving marginally however is a very real possibility with this franchise. If you know the Panthers in and out then you know this. How many offseasons have we "won" in the past? Can't blame anyone for wanting to see results first. That's just the reputation that has been created under this ownership.
I think this probably closer to the truth. As fans, we are often invested to the point that our expectations are unreasonable. I believe it was here that someone wanted to argue with me how Hayden Hurst would be a meaningful pickup and he was player on the verge of breaking out.
With that in mind, I think that may be the driving force behind information like this. Did we add any impact pieces? Did we get significantly and measurably better at any spot? Did we just tread water a bit and complete a zero sum exercise in +1/-1? I think the Rico signing might be the biggest potential impact we made, especially considering the potential production in regards to the player replaced., but nothing is for certain.

According to this, things are getting worse.

Personally, saying farewell to Ian Thomas and Miles Sanders should be seen as positives.

From a scouting report on of the mock draft sites. Sounds like the next great Panther draft bust to me.
"While there is no doubt that Stewart is a physical freak with an excellent combination of height, weight, and speed, Stewart was an underachiever in college as he is a better athlete than a football player. Stewart lacks instincts as a player, has vision issues, and has struggled to finish some plays. All of those issues are seen in his career sack total of 4.5. With his speed, strength, and size, Stewart should have had some big seasons and multi-sack games in his career. Instead, he had zero big seasons of production despite being more talented than the players he was going against. Stewart is going to need to learn pass-rushing moves for the NFL, as he will not be able to win alone on being strong and fast.
Stewart was an underachiever for the Aggies and never produced up to his skill set. Thus, he is a very raw project entering the NFL. It might take him a year or two of development, and his pro coaching staff is going to need patience. Stewart also is going to have to be very dedicated and work hard to play up to his ability.
Some team sources said they graded Stewart in the second round, and some said they graded him in the third because he is a raw developmental project. However, team sources believe that Stewart could go late in the first round based on his tremendous skill set. He has first-round talent and plays a premium position, so he definitely has a shot at getting selected on the opening night of the draft. Stewart could turn into a tremendous pro, or he could be a bust. It really depends on the coaches he lands with and how hard he is willing to work to turn his talent into success on the field."

Division opponents thread: Bucs, Falcons Saints news
in Carolina Panthers

I am little shocked and not entirely convinced that any player would allow their career to be determined by Dennis Allen. He has little credibility and zero accomplishments in the NFL.
