I hope he can bounce back from that Achilles but we shouldn't count on it from a roster standpoint. That's a brutal injury and a lot of guys are just a shadow of their former selves afterwards.
You could make a decent argument that CB is our #2 need behind QB IMO.
Jackson's best asset is speed. That won't be the same level after the achilles injury. Unfortunately, it might be very possible that a cb is picked earlier than expected.

The most black cat thing the Panthers could do would be to demolish Tampa, and then drop next week's game to the Saints in embarrassing fashion. I don't care one bit about gambling, but if I were to place money on an outcome, it would be that scenario.

It looks like he's had that work done where the fat is removed from the cheeks to highlight the cheekbones. Maybe he's had ribs removed to be able to wear a corset too.

But so many of the mocks had him going so high. Turns out it was almost mocking.
It's still early for him, but he hasn't gotten off to any sort of promising start.

I would satisfied with a clips from a miced up session with him roaming the sidelines instead of seeing 89 tear his hammy off the bone Griffey Jr style trying to run routes nowadays.

Not if they do one of those old-school baseball star contracts, or they spread this money out over five or six years. They may just have to eat that money and spread it out so it doesn’t go against the cap as much. Either way, this is one of THE WORST nfl contracts of allll time.
According to Peter King, the cap hit on cutting Wilson would be $107 million. I don't think there's enough spreading to make that a workable number. They are stuck with him for now.

7 year 62million. Why not?
That was for a guy that had no NFL head coach experience. Probably need to bump it up a little bit there.

Well past time for this guy to get the fug off of everyone's field.

When my grandparents immigrated to this country, they originally settled in the Harrisburg, PA area, moved to Cleveland, and then Charlotte for better weather, more opportunity etc. Those Rust Belt winters are something else compared to the relative comfort they enjoyed in their home country. So, before the Panthers even were a glimmer in JR's eye, we were a Steelers house, and as a young kid I remember having an official Harris 32 jersey. Good rb.

There's only 32 of these jobs, and only a few are open at a time. Usually that fact, and the competitive drive to be the best is what comes into play.

Levis impressed me today…I can’t put a finger on it but I like this player. His team is rough around him, he could completely bust but…
It's ok. He has trouble putting his fingers on things too.

What did I make up?
I've already pointed it out and addressed it I believe. Beyond that, I'm not sure I can help you further without being an ass, and I prefer not to go that route.

5th rounder at best…you heard it here first
He won't last until the 5th round. Too many qb-needy teams.

He absolutely should not be a second round pick and he is nothing like Cam. He is 6’1 205.
"somewhat"
Size, no. But as far as skills, yes. I didn't say he was Cam. Don't make stuff up please.
-
Richardson will bust if he does not go to a team that has the capability and resources to develop him correctly. He is not NFL-ready, and sticking him out there immediately or close to it is going to have a negative effect.
A somewhat Cam qb that would be a good 2nd round pick is DTR at UCLA.

First chance I've had to see Levis in something more than a clip package of highlights. If he's struggling with injuries as I've heard, then why is he out there playing? Can't just be used as a convenient excuse for poor play and questionable decisions. With that kind of in mind, I don't know how he would be a very high pick. Sure, there is lots of potential, but does he make his teammates better? Does he elevate the team? Those are the real checkmarks for a franchise player.

January 2020: Is Joe Burrow just a young quarterback catching magic in a bottle for one spectacular season thanks to the cast surrounding him full of future NFL receivers? This is the same guy who lost to Feleipe Franks, got skunked by Bama.
I'm not sure what you are trying to communicate here. Burrow was regarded as the best of that qb class and so far has proven that standing. My apologies if I am misunderstanding your message.

The difficulty I’m talking about is it was more difficult to field talent around them to help them succeed
Disagree, and that's fine. If the organization was sound, utilized it's resources, scouted thoroughly, went into the draft with a plan, and was generally well-run, then it was not an impossible task.
To contrast, this is a good bit of why the Bengals were terrible for so long. So, to that extent, rookie wage scales have mitigated a good portion of the penalty of draft busts, and I think we agree on that at least.

Of course it was harder contracts were 3 times the size with a lower overall salary cap
Price did not make it more difficult. You can argue price made it more risky or raised the stakes on higher picks, but the difficulty level was no different.

Bradford was rookie of the year before injuries took their toll. Plus before the rookie pay limits got introduced it was a lot harder to stack a good side around a rookie QB
From 1998 with Peyton Manning, to 2010 with Sam Bradford, 10 qbs were selected #1 overall. Bradford was the last under the old contract process. Three non qbs were taken over this period.
Bradford was not worth the top pick, but for teams that found themselves at that spot the position had to align with the expanding value of the contract. The non qbs taken were 2 de and a t. Premium contract meant for premium positions. It wasn't necessarily more difficult to build through the draft, so long as a team didn't get back broken over a top contract for a bust pick.
I'm not picking on Bradford so don't get all in a funk about ROY and injuries. Busts happen for a number of reasons.

That is some ugly dead cap numbers for the next 4 years if he's done
It certainly is but they look miles and miles away from being a contender again. Maybe it's better to take that medicine and be done with it. Atlanta had something like 50+ million in dead money and they are having a better season for whatever that is worth.

Seems like he enjoys going on the McAfee show etc more than the game playing at this point
yeah, it really looks like that marriage between him and the Packers is over, and staying together for the kids isn't working for either side.

I doubt they would do this, and this is not all his fault, but Rodgers probably should sit and put Love out there and decide if he's worth keeping or not. They aren't making the playoffs.

If it were up to me, I would take McDaniels and not think twice about it. I think Harbaugh goes to Indy, if anywhere. They will use that high pick on a qb so that might be attractive as well.
