  1. Some additional perspective. Don't get me wrong. I hate 31 other teams. But number 32 is the Falcons. Panthers all-time vs Falcons...21-35 Panthers all-time vs Saints...27-29 Panthers all-time vs Bucs...25-20 Included in that record is the 12-10 mark at their place.
  2. Yeah, you're not going to convince me otherwise. Go watch Vick levitating for a td at the end of the game while Dan Morgan grabs at his dust outline. Or Crumpler absolutely abuse our defense to win the game here in their Petrino year. But other opinions are fine and dandy to have, so it's good.
  3. I prefer the game we won with DeAngelo lining up in wildcat for the entire game almost. There have been some Panther moments, but not many. Pretty sure Jake blew out his elbow against them as well. There's been more bad than good there. New Orleans sent Cam a broom. Sapp said Jenkins needed some pineapple in his diet. Those things and a few others just don't compare in the long run.
  4. It's the Falcons. It's always been the Falcons. Those other teams come and go. No Panther fan should ever forget the 71-0 beat down we took from that team with Vick. Get the fug off our field with Ryan. Matt poopypants fuging Ryan. https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-2002-nov-25-sp-atlanta25-story.html
  5. Early on there was some talk about that 17th game being an international game, or an alternative site game, such as Packers in Milwaukee, Raiders in LA, etc, but it didn't really go anywhere. I think everyone kind of knows that 17 is really just a step to 18 when the cba comes due again.
  6. Didn't Raleigh have a team in 1 of those startup leagues one time? I think they were called the Skylarks or some other car name. Maybe the Preludes. It was a while back. Maybe they can bring that back next spring. I'm sure the xfl or usfl would be over the moon having an enthusiastic crowd like that every gameday.
  7. Bucs took a bunch of guys that are undersized from what I saw. If/when they send White away, they may have a real hole in the defense. Saints are hoping to kick the can down the road another year. That's a team that is in need of rebuild. Atlanta had real problems on the defense. They take Robinson instead, and don't invest very much in the defense. Maybe they will just outrun everyone.
  8. When they do inevitably lose though, because they are the Eagles, their fans take all the disappointment to heart. So there is a nice little bit of schadenfreude.
  9. He certainly is. He can contribute in the passing game too. Similar in a few ways to CMC. Remember when CMC had his 1000/1000 season? Only the 3rd player in history! We won 5 games I think.
  10. So, regarding the Falcons, their running game was just fine last season. Their problems were on the defensive side. Robinson is a good player. Too bad he went to the Falcons. To me he seems to be a piece that is added to a team that is contending, or right on the cusp. They aren't contending for anything. I doubt there is much influence on the board.
  11. You aren't really giving him any credit on things though. If you want to look at extremes, and call him meddling, then we should assume your preference is for an owner that publicly doesn't care? No thanks. There have been big mistakes and missteps so far. No argument there. We all know what those errors have been. He does care though, and I think calling him meddling is a bit disingenuous.
  12. I know what you mean. I'm coastal SC, left NC a decade ago. One of the local tv stations here runs the Jaguars huddle gameday hype show on Sunday mornings. Jacksonville is about 5 or so hours down the road.
  13. From saintsreport regarding their pick
  14. Canes are up 3-2, but the Islanders have been a handful. NY won the last game and it was in Raleigh.
  15. Agreed. I think both those Mayer and Washington have a reputation of loving to block as well as being big targets. I mean, if it were me making the pick and either of them were there, it would be 1 of them. I think edge is a bigger need though. A speedy wr would almost be a luxury, but I think we might go wr a bit later.
  16. Yes indeed, I would say always be on the lookout for good line on both sides. That said, usually there are good prospects to be had in later rounds for guards.
  17. Darnell Washington TE Georgia. Josh Downs WR UNC BJ Ojulari DE LSU. Drew Sanders LB Arkansas Michael Mayer TE ND From the list given. I don't want 2 TEs, but either of those would be nice to have, but maybe not must haves.
  18. They've had a fascination with skill players throughout Blank's ownership.
  19. They sure do. I have no reason to doubt they will make the best of those.
  20. Not my money. Don't really care too much. They traded just about everything they had to get there. I suppose I'm too pragmatic and not really a "fug those picks" kind of guy. I know how well a similar move worked out for the Saints a while back.
  21. Of course. It's not so much the players as it is the price tag.
  22. Personally I think the Texans trade was stupid, but it should be expected since it's the Texans. They aren't a couple of good players away from winning anything.
  23. I'm pretty certain it's a 1 year deal. I'm delighted at seeing a division rival flop, but the combo of Mayfield and Trask might be bad enough to get them to the top of the draft or near enough. Robinson has been linked to them, and I think they would take him if he was there, but I don't know how they can't go online otherwise. That unit was not good last year with age and injury. Pass rush is just as big a need. They have none.
