  1. To the couple of Wentz comments.. Would he be eligible for the PS? Assuming he is, I would wonder about the speculation that would come with him being on the team. As in, "When will Wentz play?" I think he has way too much baggage and name recognition.
  2. Is there anyone on that list that has a connection with our current staff? That said, please no Wentz.
  3. I think what is on most minds is that rookie qbs always seem to go through some period of struggle. Maybe they hit a physical wall, going from 12 games to 17+preseason, or the expectations start to creep in, and the game is just different from the college game and it takes an adjustment period.
  4. Speculation around about a Mike Evans holdout for this season. https://www.joebucsfan.com/2023/09/a-mike-evans-holdout-now-seems-on-the-table/
  5. Somehow the Panthers are to blame for this loss. Just ask him.
  6. Saints have really aged out. I believe they are the oldest team in the league now. They have the best roster as long they can keep them on the field. I don't think the Falcons are very good. The thing is, they do 1 thing really really well, and if your defense has trouble against the run it will be a very long day. I think I read the Bucs have the most pro bowl talent on roster in the division. Sounds reasonable. Mayfield is subpar, question marks on the oline, and there is no running game to speak of. Might be the worst offense in the NFC.
  7. I can relate. I think I was very similar during the 2010 season.
  8. Maybe the bird has a negative imprint of all that cat imagery? I mean it is a big ask to expect it to enjoy watching a deadly enemy.
  9. Saints have cut previously starting nickelback Bradley Roby. Texans have cut previous draft darling Chase Winovich.
  10. Not too many winners on the list. I remember there was so much enthusiasm early on though.
  11. Not surprised. He is not the player he was a few seasons back.
  12. Friend of mine from Illinois is a Bears fan, and according to him Foreman is not a fit for what they want to do. He expects him to be cut.
  13. Hope he stays released. No one gets hurt for the next few days, and maybe he catches on with some needy team.
  14. I would rather just set the cash amount on fire to watch it burn for entertainment. It would be more worthwhile than a wrestling belt.
  15. Mayfield needs to get on to selling insurance, or cars, or managing a Walmart. Whatever it is he is meant to do, it is not playing offensive line in the NFL.
  16. The knock on BOA is that it has no frills and is boring, which is pretty fair. We are living in a time where you must be constantly entertained and delighted, or it's substandard.
  17. This is pretty close to what I am expecting. I think we have 6 wins. I don't have us beating the Packers, and I see us getting 3 wins out of the division, not a true split, with a sweep of the Bucs and getting swept by the Falcons.
  18. Whenever we have looked bad like this in the preseason, we have been bad. I'm thinking 6 wins. There is not really much to be excited about by this team at this point.
  19. Well how about that? A score! There is some improvement over last week.
  20. Yeah. I think expectations were getting a little lofty as well. Preseason can be a mirage. The 2004 preseason team went 4-0, and looked primed for return to the Superbowl. It didn't work out that way at all though. If we got the qb right, we will know soon, and that's the formula these days. Otherwise it's back to the lab I suppose.
  21. The reports out of training camp mostly painted the picture of what we are seeing today. It is a long season though and this is just preseason. Offense doesn't look like a finished product yet. Defense is competitive already, but they did allow some conversions that kept them on the field. I am starting to think we might split the games in the division, and beat up on the weak teams on the schedule. Not sure how many wins that gets us, but it's probably less than everyone is hoping.

  23. It really does not matter what the record ends up being for preseason. Record aside, when we have looked bad in preseason, we have been bad in the regular season. --No season-breaking injuries --Team appears competitive in all 3 phases. --No overtimes Not much else to really ask for from preseason games.
  24. Every training camp we start to swoon over someone that we think will be a real difference maker, a legit find, a diamond in the rough, and he ends up doing nothing. It's just how it works. Some guys, like Fasani, end up actually playing a game, but that Tampa game of his might be the worst Panthers QB performance ever, and that's saying a lot. I think it should be limited to those superstars that never got off the bench, or even made the 53 on game day.
