I have to give them something for trying. I don't know how successful it will be. There are some warts on all of them. I don't think I care too much for the rb and te choices. Maybe they will surprise. It might be a typical Panthers draft, production for the 1st round pick, not much else downstream.

I approve of today's selections. Princely might be a little on the lean side, but get him on a NFL strength and conditioning program and it might pay dividends

We had a Cali connection between wr and qb before. Some drink called a Cactus Cooler was involved. I don't think it went so good. Maybe this will be better.

I sure hope Walker is terrible since we get to face him twice a year now on a hated rival.

I sincerely don't understand the disappointment that I am reading in this thread. So many wanted another pass catcher.
They drafted the best one in the draft.
The huddle is never satisfied.
Of course, but that is being a fan.
I wanted defense. We are so terrible and incapable on that side of the ball. I very much believe a team can punch above its weight class with a strong defense. That, coupled with our historic inability to get the wr position right, certainly gives me pause.
If he works out..wonderful, great, fabulous. I hope he is our next hof-worthy wr.

Look on the bright side. We can trade him to Dallas for a 4th in a couple of years

I feel like we have drafted this player before, and there is no reason to think this organization suddenly can identify and develop a college wr prospect into a pro player.

Check our contracted WRs for 2026 and you’ll see a huge need.
By no means should my meh reaction be confused as a defense or endorsement of our pathetic and underwhelming current wide receivers.

Don't love it. Don't hate it. Don't see the need for it though. When you're going on a decade of being poo, I guess it doesn't matter too much anymore.

Ewer would be a wasted pick on this team at this point. So, with that in mind, I'd put it at coinflip chances that it happens.
-
There has been very little in the way of surprises with the team in a good while. Walker is the pick.
-
If we stay at 8, and Walker is there, he is the pick.

Absolute fuging horror show. No wonder we are terrible.

I don't think there is a buyer, and maybe not at a price that would be too good to turn down.

Yeah, we actually got quite a haul for CMC. It's just that we squandered 100% of the resources we received in return.
We would've done the same with a 1st round pick for him, if that's what we had gotten. Same with the rumored 2 firsts for Burns. I am confident we would've found some way to waste it on stupid poo. It's what we do.

The trade up to #1 was bad on so many levels. Maybe the trade into the first last year. Not making the Burns trade and then the trade they ended up making looks bad in comparison but not stand alone. The CMC trade could be up there but that one was complex given the Panthers situation at that time.
Regarding the CMC deal, I think what is most bothersome is we essentially got pennies on the dollar for a premium player.
I realize that there is some cold comfort in the Mingo business, and getting something in return for Anderson and Johnson but those 3 players are also examples of some high level dysfunction and failure in the organization.

Worst trades ever. In case you are wondering, yes, it makes the list.
It is not the only ranked trade we are involved in either.

Nah, it will be more of a Panthers thing to be dismayed and entertained watching him do his version of the Ickey Shuffle out at left tackle for a while longer, sign him to a stupid value 2nd contract, or just let him walk and have nothing at left tackle and be over a barrel and take whatever turnstile we can find on the open market.

I'm not as down on XL as many of you are. He got open alot and showed toughness. He deserves another season before writing him off
Of course he does. I am very hopeful. I am hoping he doesn't lead the league in drops and talking funny.

Whether it has merit or not, doesn't matter. The Panthers are not drafting a tackle at #8. They will take the lazy do-nothing guy from Texas A+M before they take a tackle at 8.

We already have a replacement right tackle to take over for Moton. He is somewhat playing as the current left tackle.
That second round pick from last year. Sheesh
in Carolina Panthers

I would be very surprised if Brooks plays at all next season. Considering when it happened, and now being the 2nd to the same knee, he is probably on the shelf next year. But hey, we screwed old Jerruh out of picking him!
Davis was, and may be the exception to multiple occurrences of that injury. Different player, different position as well. Eh. Who knows?
