  1. Well he has also won a National Championship, and while it's not a 2nd Superbowl, it is an accomplishment. The funny thing is I think there were expectations that the Raiders were going to be significantly better this year. Maybe not division winner better but not 1st overall pick in the draft bad either.
  2. Just curious, where are we at in big-time throws?
  3. He just got a little caught up in the moment. They've had far worse. Michael Vick. He killed dogs. For sport. For fun. He killed dogs. Count Choculas last dance is minor compared to all the Vick stuff.
  4. It's ok. I liked it when Count Chocula went down to dance on the sidelines of the Superbowl when he thought his shitbird team had it in the bag. But really, I experienced some personal growth that night. I never thought in my lifetime I could seriously claim to be a New England Patriots fan, but in that short little window of time, ever so brief, let's fuging go, Brady!
  5. He doesn't have the heart for it. He'd keel over trying to swing for the drum, and oh dear, wouldn't that be sad.
  6. That is very cool. Whether you like Watson and his associated deal, or don't like him and think it was the worst thing ever, it is entirely your opinion, and some people will agree with you, and some will not, and some may not have much of an opinion at all. It is a little short-sighted to blame their problems exclusively on Watson, and probably a bit unnecessary to tie a coach to that entire thing. Certainly, that mistake is looming very large. I don't know a bunch about how the Browns operate, but typically a coach is not out there pursuing free agents, negotiating deals and orchestrating trades, but the Browns could be unique in that, and maybe that explains some of their problems.
  7. I can't imagine the drunken chaotic altercations at Waffle House inside a NFL stadium on Sundays. Every building would have to come with a judge and jail like in Philadelphia.
  8. Not exactly. When Modell packed up and moved to Baltimore, it was stipulated that the name, colors and far more crucially, the history and records would remain in Cleveland for when they received a new team. Personally, I think they should've dropped the name and colors, but that's me. History and records however absolutely did not travel on down to Baltimore. True story.
  9. The Chick-fil-a, never open on Sundays, is just another kick in the pants to Falcons fans.
  10. They've had trouble finding a replacement for Bernie Kosar for a while. Their troubles outdate Watson by a couple of decades, not that it excuses that contract or pursuit.
  11. Yeah, they are a fuged-up abomination of a franchise and always have been. They came into existence to thwart the further expansion of the AFL. Blank is probably better than the previous owner Rankin Smith/Taylor Smith, but only because he is willing and able to spend. They still manage to make a mess out of whatever they have in front of them. The fanbase are more like battered spouses in an abusive relationship.
  12. In all fairness, and I do not know a whole bunch about the Browns and how they operate, but he got them to the playoffs twice, which in Cleveland is akin to a lunar landing mission.
  13. That game got me a little. I do a pretty good job not getting angry at these games anymore, but I came close on that 1.
  14. Young literally just handed them the ball immediately on the first 2 drives to start the game. Good times.
  15. I think there is a slight hope, that as a local guy, and given some ups and downs, wink-wink pass protection, we can get him to take a little less. His agent is not doing his job if he doesn't stress how he has been a day 1 starter for 3 years now, and pay this dollar amount or find someone else. He shouldn't get more than Cross, but it will be closer than maybe we think it should be.
  16. Copy and paste of Blank's letter to Falcons season ticket holders, sent today. I'm a season ticket holder and this just popped into my inbox. Lots of interesting stuff: To our Atlanta Falcons Fans and Community, No statement can change the disappointment of the past several seasons. I know we have fallen short of the standard you expect and we as an organization have for ourselves. That responsibility rests with me. When results do not match expectations over time, as the owner, accountability cannot be shared or softened. I believe this team should be competing at a higher level than it has, and I share your deep frustration. You, our fans, and the community we are proud to represent are the heartbeat of this franchise. Week after week, season after season, you show up, you believe, and you support this team with pride. You have invested your time, money and emotion into the Falcons, and that commitment deserves a team that competes for championships year in and year out. We have not delivered that consistently enough in recent years. To respect your continuous support of our team and the necessity to put a consistently winning product on the field, we recently put everything on the table to determine how to best move forward. With the help of Sportsology Group, we have conducted a deep, thorough and intentional health assessment of our entire football operation over the last two months. Knowing adjustments across our operation are necessary to achieve our goals, we will be making significant changes. As we announced last night, we will have a new head coach and general manager in 2026, but that is only one part of our approach in a new era. The process we embarked on in recent months was an honest review of our football team from top to bottom; how football decisions are informed, made and implemented; how we are structured; and how we communicate internally. Today I’m writing to let you know the following changes are already in process of being implemented with the Atlanta Falcons: The search for the leaders to fill the head coach and general manager roles are under way. We have retained ZRG Partners and Sportsology Group to assist in those searches, respectively, and will also leverage insights from others across the football landscape with a keen eye for where the NFL game is today and where it’s going to help us fill those two critical roles. We will be adding a new president of football from outside the organization. The leader in this new role will set the vision and identity for our team. Our new head coach and general manager will report to the new president of football, and they will work collaboratively as a football leadership team on all football decisions. Final decision-making authority will rest with the president of football. This leader will also work in collaboration with the club’s president and CEO to ensure the team’s football and business operations are appropriately aligned with unified organizational goals to deliver success on the field and in all areas of engaging Falcons fans. The new president of football will report directly to me. We plan to move quickly on this hire so the new president of football can be fully involved in the selection of our new leaders in the head coach and general manager roles. As part of our ongoing succession planning, Greg Beadles has been elevated from president to president and CEO of the Atlanta Falcons, effective today, succeeding Rich McKay. Greg will continue oversight of all business affairs of the Falcons and collaborate closely with the new president of football to ensure all resources and operational support are working toward the goal of a winning product on the field, and that we continue to deliver for our fans in every way. Led by the president of football, Greg, our new head coach and general manager will determine how to best implement other organizational changes we have identified in this process as areas for improvement across the football operation. That process will happen in the coming weeks and months ahead of the 2026 season. Sportsology will assist with the front office restructure as well. In recent years, Rich McKay has taken on a new, expanded role across our broader Arthur M. Blank Sports and Entertainment organization and within the community. With succession planning that began over five years ago maturing with the ascension of Greg Beadles to the president and CEO role with the Falcons, Rich will now be able to give full focus to critical AMBSE initiatives including: major events on the near horizon for Atlanta with the 2026 FIFA World Cup and NFL’s 2028 Super Bowl at Mercedes-Benz Stadium (MBS); renovations to MBS and construction of a world-class training facility for AMBSE’s new NWSL franchise and the launch of that team coming in 2028; and other business development and organizational projects in various stages of planning. In addition to his AMBSE CEO role, Rich will continue as a member of my board of trustees; an associate director of our family foundation; co-chair of the NFL Competition Committee, which he has been involved with for over 30 years; and as the incoming chair of the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce board for 2026. I’m incredibly grateful to Rich for his 20+ years of direct leadership with the Falcons, including many of the most successful seasons in team history. I understand trust is built through action, not words. Honesty, effort and accountability must be reflected in the way this organization operates and performs. Moving forward, every decision will be made with one clear objective – building a team capable of sustained success and competing for championships. I am confident that our new football structure and leadership will have us contending again soon. We are laser-focused on filling these key roles and others with outstanding talent and empowering them correctly ahead of this critical offseason. We operate in an immensely proud football city and state, and leading this franchise carries a responsibility I take very personally. While I’m very disappointed the Falcons will not be in the playoffs this year, I believe our football team has a solid core of outstanding veterans and exciting young talent that will make all of these open positions highly attractive to an array of top leaders who can come in, get to work and lead our team back to the standard we expect. I want you to know I am grateful for your loyalty, belief, and willingness to continue to show up and support this team, even when it has been difficult. I feel the urgency to get this right for you. We are committed to doing the work, making the tough decisions that are necessary and making the investments necessary to deliver the results you deserve. I care deeply about this community and know how important the success of the Atlanta Falcons is to each of you and the community. Thank you for standing with us. You deserve the absolute best, and I am determined to take whatever steps necessary to get us there. With endless gratitude, Atlanta Falcons ARTHUR M. BLANK Owner and Chairman
  17. Let Tepper waddle out there and give it a good whack instead. We didn't even know what playoff football was until yesterday.
  18. I may be really off on this, but I seem to remember Elway was ran out of the Broncos building and relieved of his duties several seasons ago.
  19. And it is impossible for the record to ever be broken. Just End The Season
  20. I think that is a good prediction. Couple of things to consider. If they fired gm Terry Fontenot as well, then it means an entire new regime. They don't have a 1st round pick either. QB is a real question, especially with a new administration coming in. They will have to lean on their defense which did have a good year overall.
  21. He was a bit of an odd choice. I know he had a run there as an interim, but I don't think anyone had Morris on the head coach list. I think generally the impression was he was a better coordinator than the head guy. Too bad. We probably don't sweep them next year.
  22. So, would you be interested in another Panthers wr trade, Jerruh Jones? https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/47506779/nfl-dallas-cowboys-jerry-jones-playoffs-dak-prescott
  23. It should be completely expected that the Rams come in here with a very bad taste in their mouth, and revenge on the mind, and overall bad intentions. But let's hear speculation instead about the Panthers pass rush and how we can outscore them.
