Isn't the story with the Colts/JM thing that Jim Irsay acted so weird around McDaniel and his wife, at their home, that they were like "nope".  Like Irsay went to the bathroom and stayed in there for like an hour or some poo lmao?

It takes time to sort and swallow a handful of pills.

I've always liked the story that came out about Al Davis' interview of Kiffin. He suggested they keep talking over dinner and sent someone out to get a big bag of regular McDonalds cheeseburgers for the two of them.

Maybe they don't let it load before hitting the submit button. I don't know. It always works for me.

No, it's Elon Musk half-assery. If you attempt to post a tweet by hitting the share button on the actual tweet, which is the underscore icon with the upward arrow, on the right side, it will copy/paste a x.com based-url. Nearly all message boards do not recognize this, so the tweet does not embed, but instead will display the url in it's text long form only. If however, you copy and paste the actual twitter.com url from the top of your browser, the tweet will embed since twitter is still recognized.

It’s probably just the age we live in, and not winning…but I don’t recall a player as good as Burns being this poo on before by the fanbase.

The pass rushing ability between him and the next edge on our roster is drastic, he’s a good dude, he gets better every year, causes no problems. He has elite edge size and length, and is still young and about to enter his prime.

I’d love if he was also had DT like run stuffing ability, but it’s a hell of a lot easier finding run stuffers than pass rushers. Sure he misses some tackles, but that tackle he missed is often behind the line of scrimmage, and his penetration allows others tike to clean it up.

He isn’t perfect. But damn he’s talented as fug and on an upward trajectory.

The year Peppers had something like 4 sacks, i think his last year here the 1st go around, there was plenty of it. He had no heart, no motor, didn't care, was overpaid, checked out, was never going to be the leader this team needed, wasn't any good, was a product of having good players around him, was a product of Fox's scheme, we can find someone else better, we could find someone else cheaper, speculation about how JR felt about writing out a game check of 1 million dollars for Peppers each week since he was playing on the tag. We let him walk for nothing, a true HOFer, and there were many of the fanbase not sad to see him go.

You also aren't beating the best teams in the NFL if you can't put up points

You're right, resources need to be put into pass rushing, but with what we spent to get Bryce, his development is not only the #1 priority of this franchise right now, it's also the #2, 3, 4, 5 priority right now.

If he busts because we can't give him the weapons he needs, then it's all for naught and having a high priced pro bowl caliber pass rusher won't mean jack squat.

Bad NFL teams aren't fixed overnight or in one offseason, they take time to build them up properly

And an elite pass rusher is what you need to put teams over the top into SB contention, not to help rebuild around a rookie QB with questionable physical attributes.

It's a difficult balance to be certain. I think a pass rusher is a premium position. QB, LT and DE. If you have those set, you have a chance. Otherwise, it's a pretender. I think it gets down to a method of building the lines first, and then look at the other pieces. I'm not a gm, nor claim to be. Just my observations of what works usually in the NFL.

  5. Not my money to spend, and there are lots and lots of places in this team that money or picks could be spent. Don't forget that Burns is the only consistent source of pass rush, and somewhere down the line, resources will have to be put towards it. I know we all like to bicker about this like it's paying our bills, but you aren't beating the best teams in the NFL by relying on blitzes.

They actually have a decent roster for a rookie QB to step into unlike us.  Keep the coaching staff and draft one out of this class with Bijan, London, and Pitts for some nice weapons.  Of course I hope they don't do this and struggle for eternity because they are the Falcons.

I think if you zoom out a bit you might see a bit more of what I am getting at. They've always put a premium on skill players, but then don't really have anything behind them or around them. Then for a few years towards the end of the Ryan era they really concentrated on oline, with some mixed results. They like splashy a whole bunch, and always have, but other than Michael Turner and a retiring Tony Gonzalez, I can't think of many deals they've made that worked out favorably, and unironically, those 2 were both on offense.

How crazy is it that it took this long for Ridder to get benched?

I have not understood their method of roster building for most of Blank's tenure. It's a oddly constructed team most years. Heinicke is a better option at qb, but he is still backup level. Maybe they spend their next high pick on another rb.

The 49ers are going to forever be a bridesmaid without an elite QB.

It is a bit of a tantalizing tease. Seems like the system is very qb friendly, and maybe that creates a little bit of good enough complacency.

  9. I recall hearing something about how we wouldn't need top end receivers We were going to have this dynamic, innovative, maestro magician playing qb like a hall of fame all-time NBA star point guard. We could maybe even invest a little less cash in wrs, since our super computer qb would be distributing that ball around so skillfully and quickly that defenses wouldn't know where it was coming from, and where it was going.
