But sometimes, the game just does not translate to the next level. It's not necessarily anyone's fault, it is just that what worked no longer is effective. Everyone knows a great example of this, as he was 1 of the best college football qbs of all time. He was simply not an NFL qb though, as much as some wanted it to be so for various reasons.

His wife makes great meatballs though. To be fair, he didn't hire himself here. He dazzled and bamboozled them with what they wanted to hear. He was going to be an innovative, program-builder, culture-installing football genius. They ate it up like those fabulous meatballs.

We aren't going to get anything for him unless Jones is stupid again and wants to make another deal for our junk. So he is here. Buyers remorse. What I am a bit puzzled about is that he just needs more time, more reps etc. He's not a 19 or 20 year old youngster. He will be 25 at the end of January.

Well no matter what we will have a rematch waiting for us in that game if we make the playoffs. I don't think we have much ability to change our stripes too much. We kind of are what we are at this point.

When I looked up pressure stats the other day, I was a little surprised at blitz % overall. We don't blitz very often, and I have to think it's because we don't get to the qb very often, and we are exposing vulnerabilities that we are not able to accommodate when we do send extra pressure.

Whatever wildcard team ends up 5 will win that game. If you don't think losing on home field in the 1st round of the playoffs is an embarrassment, then that's your opinion, and you are welcome to it, and it's cool to have different opinions. There is no disrespect in making that statement. There are better teams. The Panthers chance of winning the NFC Championship are 1 in none. The Steelers in the AFC may be slightly better, perhaps 2 in none. Just saying.

Part of it is being a 4 seed. The same has been said for the AFC side. Steelers are going to get embarrassed on their home field by the Bills or a wildcard team from the West or South. It's more than likely true as well.

Yeah I heard similar too. Who really knows. I do know, that if you look up their drafting history, it reads like a very odd way to construct a team over the years. Maybe not Crazy Old Al Davis odd, but they haven't drafted well, or sensibly.

Agreed. Most of their fans blame VP RIch McKay or Arthur Blank for their fails. A lot of their moves under Blank's ownership don't make sense.

It does not matter a bit now, but I don't think we sweep Atlanta if they had Cousins out there instead of Penix.

Hard to say, but I would lean towards keeping Burns. The two roles have a symbiotic relationship, and it is a bit easier to find an effective corner in that joint than a pass rusher. It is very close though as Burns certainly has his flaws as well, but purely from a specialized task perspective Burns is more valuable.
