  1. I don't want to see any past greats be dragged down by the death spiral of poo this franchise is currently under. I'm just fine with past players that want to come back and contribute in some way in a front office capacity, but let's find out what Captain Munnerlyn and etc are doing right now instead.
  2. That era has been over for decades now. I do still have that Superbowl issue tucked away somewhere with Moose on the cover and the headline that "Carolina is for real." That era has also been over for decades.
  3. That is reasonable, but I don't think we go qb at 33. I have no idea what the pick would be, but qb would be a surprise. Rattler would probably be available later in the draft. With some of the qb needy teams ahead of us, I'm not so sure about Penix or Nix being there later. Atlanta should be a taking a qb in the 1st.
  4. I agree, but I also don't think bringing in a Mariotta, or similar level player, is really going to do much long term. Maybe the best case scenario is it creates a sturdy and plausible reason to bench Young after the bye or whatever, and that would mark the end of his era here. I'm not overly optimistic on a turnaround plan, but that's mostly because I think Young is an example of a good college player that just doesn't translate to the NFL.
  5. It's all just talk and opinion though at this point. None of it matters now, and it can't be undone. Would Young perform better if CMC and DJ were still on the team? Probably. Maybe. They were shipped out to get him though. All that really matters at this point is if the next regime can get things turned around, and Young on the right track. Next season will be the test of that, and if the results are largely the same, or worst, the team will move on from him.
  6. Yeah I'm torn on this 1. Seeing the Bucs lose is always a positive. I think the Lions have a better shot of beating them though. I wanted a misfit Superbowl and the Browns have already been sent home.
  7. I question why Julio Jones is still playing. He's so done. Unless of course he could play against us every week of the season. He'd be rejuvenated then.
  8. Except they haven't stopped anyone for a month now. Tampa has a shot with those 2 wrs.
  9. We had to adapt and survive. They tied keys around our necks and said figure it out. On top of that we had to become tech support for the household, and learn how to set the clock on the microwave, keep the vcr from flashing 12:00, set up the answering machine, and teach our siblings to play Nintendo and let them win a few times.
  10. This one is over. Steelers aren't capable of putting up that many points.
  11. I don't claim grunge. I identify more with the era mumbling about drugs with all the instruments and a synthesizer.
  12. Gen X here. I can tolerate Millennials just fine. Not much patience for Boomers though.
  13. There has been some Raiders speculation since he was qb coach there 20+ years ago, but I think it's just connecting the dots to have something to talk about.
  14. They have to be sold on the potential of the team, because honestly there is really nothing there to point to as being attractive. The defense is middle of the pack, with lots of impending and current questions. There are some holes to fill and tough decisions to make on that side. The offense has no standout players aside from a aging wr and a rb that was not intended to be the starter. The other key positions are unproven at best, or are clearly in need of an upgrade. So, the job needs to be pitched as the opportunity to rebuild the team, from roster, to front office, to culture. That would be how you sell it, the appeal is the challenge.
  15. Obviously you've never encountered real Saints fans.
  16. Saturdaydownsouth.com spilled a bunch of digital ink on how it would/should/could be Lane Kiffin. I guess there wasn't anyone real worthy on staff since those that might have been qualified already moved on to other programs.
  17. Only 1 team in the NFL would be dumb enough to make that deal..
  18. Regarding the Alabama job, somebody has to be the guy after the guy. Never an easy spot to be in though.
  19. To their credit, they tried when they spent, I think, the 3rd overall on Okudah, but it was a miss. Not the same old Lions it seems. Good for them.
  20. Entertaining game so far. Best of the bunch to this point. Lions are maybe a top tier corner and another pass rush threat away from being a real deal.
  21. So this must be what teams look like that can draft and develop players.
  22. Not expecting to see an upset in this Packers-Cowboys game, but I wouldn't say no either.
  23. Google claims otherwise. I thought the temperature when they won at Philly in their 1st Superbowl run was below 40. Maybe not?
