There is serious speculation that Kyle Whoever will win the starter job there. Personally, I think they will go back and forth between both, and expect them to each get opportunities to go out and lose this season.

I do believe that the black jersey is the default color. White and blue versions are made available for more popular players. If you browse the team store, it becomes a little more obvious. So, my guess is, regarding Young, the manufacturing just hasn't caught up yet.

The company line is the team no longer thought it was a good use of resources to maintain an official board, especially since most other teams have ceased that as well. I am sure that devasting loss helped with the decision to pull the plug as well.

Here's the link to the new Falcons board. falcons.boards.net They were initially threatening to be very selective about who would be joining, in effort to run off some trolls. I think they backed off of that to some degree, but you must be a registered member to access the board now.

Teams lose because they don't know why they lose. It's all in the new presentation, "The Way of the Cornhusker," so pay attention. -
Panthers sign former pro bowl LB Deion Jones

Injuries and age have made sure he's not the same player anymore. I wouldn't be surprised if doesn't make the roster. -

Well I think I brought Seifert into the conversation to illustrate that we never talk about him anymore, because he is no longer working as a coach. The only comparison that I think is fair between the 2 is that they are both former coaches here, and were not successful. The idea of giving life to Rhule is a little off-base, especially when it's taken into account that he, not us, continues to bring his failure up, and how it's not his fault. He wants to make sure anyone listening is 100% aware of that. -

I would say we aren't giving him life. He is still working as a coach. To your point, no one really talks about Seifert anymore. -

Ironic, I know. I can't see him winning the conference. He might do ok against the other weaklings though. -

It is a very tedious task to listen to all 45 minutes or so, but he mentions his tenure here a few times. At 1 point he alludes to us when he mentions he is not patient and expects to win and win and win some more right out of the gate, and wouldn't stand for a program that takes a step or 2 back after his 1st year. -
Jaycee Horn says he's "ready to go"
UnluckyforSome replied to TheCasillas's topic in Carolina Panthers
The risk of further concussions ultimately put him out of the game. He suffered at least 5. In his 7 seasons, Morgan was never able to play through 16 games. The catalog of his injuries is pretty long, and goes beyond concussions. -

Yeah, for the most part. But...that's verbatim what we all said about Dan Morgan too, since he didn't have an injury history at Miami. It's just how the cookie crumbles. -

Good player when healthy. Maybe its a good omen that he didn't slam his finger in the car door or trip on the steps going into the dorm. -

Ah..well best we can do is 10 games and a broken foot. -
The only Bears fan I know is 100% all in on them winning the North now, and getting a top 5 pick next year.

100% true story about Cowherd. During 1 of his pre-draft shows, I don't remember the year, he insisted that Mario Williams would be a bad pick, when most other draft talk had him at or near the top of the draft. Cowherd justified his opinion on Williams playing a bunch of garbage programs in the ACC, like Georgia Tech and NC State. He didn't even know he played at NC State. Cowherd may literally not know what he is talking about at any given time.

Can Bryce Young lead Panthers to a deep playoff run?
UnluckyforSome replied to NAS's topic in Carolina Panthers
I kind of think that Arthur Smith is looking to replicate what he had on the Titans. Strong running game and a game manager qb with some big play potential. Pair that up with a tough and active defense. -
I don't think the Falcons have enough to make any sort of challenge to the top. They will be very dependent on grinding it out with the run and looking to hit on the big play. Teams can and have won like that, but I hope they aren't there yet. Bucs still have 2 good wrs, and a decent defense. They do not have a qb though, nor a running game, and might be scoring challenged. The wheels haven't completely fallen off the Saints, but it's getting shaky. Carr is better than anything they've had at qb since Brees, but it's a low bar to clear. There are some nice things on offense still, if not suspended or on ir. The defense is starting to show it's age. Coaching, formerly a strength there, is now a deficit.

I'm not sold on the Lions. Isn't half their team now on gambling watch? Beyond that, SOL--Same Old Lions. They are a trendy/darkhorse pick to do something though. NFC will be much the same as last year. Niners, Eagles, Vikings. Bucs will not be in the mix.

Premium position equals premium pay. He is a proven player and will get what he gets, if not here, than there will be no shortage of other pass rush needy teams lined up. Every single team in the league is looking for pass rush, and those that don't have any wish they had what we have. There are 2 choices: pay the man and be happy about locking up a young player at a needed position, or replace him with an unknown. Maybe some 5th rounder that has shown "flashes" for a couple of seasons will have his breakout year. Then we can repeat the process again when his contract comes due.

Rivers will be a test of how much winning matters. He has stats that would compare pretty well to his peers, but he made 1 AFC Championship game, and lost, in a 17 year career. So the question that will be on the minds of voters will be how much of his stats are from longevity and being on above average teams that he wasn't able to elevate.

If anyone cares to see what no pass rush looks like, and having to manufacture pressure with blitzes, you don't have to look far. Atlanta is so desperate for help they gave 10 million to 36 year old Calais Campbell, and Tanking Bay is hoping that Barrett recovers from career-ending injury.
