If you attempt to post a tweet by hitting the share button on the actual tweet, which is the underscore icon with the upward arrow, on the right side, it will copy/paste a x.com based-url. Nearly all message boards do not recognize this, so the tweet does not embed, but instead will display the url in it's text long form only. If however, you copy and paste the actual twitter.com url from the top of your browser, the tweet will embed since twitter is still recognized.

The year Peppers had something like 4 sacks, i think his last year here the 1st go around, there was plenty of it. He had no heart, no motor, didn't care, was overpaid, checked out, was never going to be the leader this team needed, wasn't any good, was a product of having good players around him, was a product of Fox's scheme, we can find someone else better, we could find someone else cheaper, speculation about how JR felt about writing out a game check of 1 million dollars for Peppers each week since he was playing on the tag. We let him walk for nothing, a true HOFer, and there were many of the fanbase not sad to see him go.

It's a difficult balance to be certain. I think a pass rusher is a premium position. QB, LT and DE. If you have those set, you have a chance. Otherwise, it's a pretender. I think it gets down to a method of building the lines first, and then look at the other pieces. I'm not a gm, nor claim to be. Just my observations of what works usually in the NFL.

Not my money to spend, and there are lots and lots of places in this team that money or picks could be spent. Don't forget that Burns is the only consistent source of pass rush, and somewhere down the line, resources will have to be put towards it. I know we all like to bicker about this like it's paying our bills, but you aren't beating the best teams in the NFL by relying on blitzes.

I think if you zoom out a bit you might see a bit more of what I am getting at. They've always put a premium on skill players, but then don't really have anything behind them or around them. Then for a few years towards the end of the Ryan era they really concentrated on oline, with some mixed results. They like splashy a whole bunch, and always have, but other than Michael Turner and a retiring Tony Gonzalez, I can't think of many deals they've made that worked out favorably, and unironically, those 2 were both on offense.

I have not understood their method of roster building for most of Blank's tenure. It's a oddly constructed team most years. Heinicke is a better option at qb, but he is still backup level. Maybe they spend their next high pick on another rb.

I recall hearing something about how we wouldn't need top end receivers We were going to have this dynamic, innovative, maestro magician playing qb like a hall of fame all-time NBA star point guard. We could maybe even invest a little less cash in wrs, since our super computer qb would be distributing that ball around so skillfully and quickly that defenses wouldn't know where it was coming from, and where it was going.
