  1. It won't take 5 years. Not if you have the right people in place. Now, next year is going to be bad, but maybe not as bad as this year. I agree about restructuring the operations, and Tepper needs to sign checks and be a cheerleader. I think our scouting department has become very inconsistent. I don't think we do well developing players. I don't think we have had an identity since Cam, Luke and the others from the last run left the game. Establishing those things again will not be overnight. But getting back to being competitive will not be a 5 year plan, if the right choices are made. I have no confidence that can happen though.
  2. There will always be candidates. There are only 32 of these jobs in the world. Don't under estimate the drive and egos of some folks that think they can be the 1 to turn something around. Regarding Young, we aren't on the hook for a fortune to him, so there is no obligation to keep him if/when there is a change at the top.
  3. You can still be a fan of the game and follow the sport without supporting the garbage that is put on the field by this franchise, with the expectation that we will like it no matter what because we don't know any better. I mean we didn't even know what live music was until a few years ago. If you have the means travel to other games, see other stadiums, see what other game day experiences are like, and then see how it compares. I'll give you a hint..it doesn't. I haven't been to the new Falcons stadium yet, but the old Georgia Dome was a good experience. Our other rivals are worth a trip, and Jacksonville and Nashville aren't very far away either.
  4. Leaf and Russell are the 2 big ones. Gabbert has a Superbowl ring with Tampa I believe.
  5. I like the Dolphins chances this season. I think they need to win the East though, and avoid going somewhere cold and snowy and miserable in January. Those high-powered offenses have always seemed to freeze up a bit in winter weather.
  6. Browns or Lions. If the Browns can do something without Watson, its an even better story.
  7. Browns about to win. It's inspiring now as a Panthers fan to see a doormat finally become better than average.
  8. Sounds pretty awful. Steelers-Browns is 10-10 with about 5 minutes left.
  9. I tend to agree. However, something to consider, how do you sell a record new low, a 1-17 season, and 6 straight losing seasons, and justify bringing him back after that?
  10. New coach almost always means new qb. Maybe not immediately and right off the bat, but no coach is shackling their job security to a qb they didn't select.
  11. A big section of the country is going to get this garbage beamed into their homes today. I think it will be a CBS day instead here.
  12. Clausen still has a chance at being a really top notch qb at the next level.
  13. Agreed. I don't think there is much right with anything having to do with Panthers. Unfortunately, when the last draft pick to work out positively is Brown, then I suppose that's why we get into the situation of hoping things get better some way, any way.
  14. Just pointing out all the things we've already been told. To be fair he has been only 1 of numerous festering problems on the team, as you point out as well.
  15. But the magician, and the maestro, and the super duper processing, and the all pro point guard? Are you saying all those were just words and nothing more??
  16. Keep your head up folks. As terrible as that trade up now appears, at least we dodged the bullet on Watson.
  17. Hey now, the team has come a long way from the game day experience being sitting in the white rocking chairs on the sunny side of the stadium and enjoying sweet tea before the game.
  18. During some of the bad seasons recently for 1 of our South rivals, there was always talk about having a seat # lottery that the winning fan, if they actually showed up to the game, would get to call a play from the sideline since things were so bad.
  19. I hate 31 other teams, but there are different levels of dislike. There is a fair amount of Jags coverage where I live, as well as Panthers, so by default it's Jags. Could be worse as the Falcons games are carried on the good sports talk radio station.
  20. The college 15 yard penalty should be the rule. It ends the incentive to fling it deep with the hope being a penalty for the same amount of yards as a reception, but still maintains a costly punishment for the foul.
  21. I doubt McDermott is sent packing. It might be a very interesting December in the AFC if there isn't some separation in that muddled middle.
  22. Good team but they have a turnover problem, and this might be the year that it costs them a playoff spot.
  23. This gets a little overlooked since we all get hyped up on those training camp heroes. It is slim pickings when the most recent draft pick to positively develop is Brown. I don't know of any other impact players since him.
