Voth talks up Melvin Gordon in the 1st
Carolina Cajun replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
I doubt it too, in fact, I'm on board with him in the second, he's my second favorite runner in the draft. I was just trying to make a joke that might not have hit the mark. -

First round pick - Gurley Second round pick - Gordon Third round pick - Duke Johnson 4th round - Tevin Coleman The rest go to Linebackers and QB's converted to WR's. Somewhere Hurney's manhood just pushed Mars 10 miles further from the sun. -
Still too much for this under talented diva. Can't wait till he get's bounced from the league.

FBGP's Inside the War Room - Carolina Panthers
Carolina Cajun replied to FootballCzar's topic in Carolina Panthers
Awesome as usual Em, Love your breakdowns all the time. That said, the only missing thing I saw was the lack of a RB in the draft. I really think we're gonna get someone to groom. Also, as for Darren Reaves, I know you were HUGE on him last year, do you still like his potential in the near future or did his performance last year when given a chance kind of damper your expectations?- 32 replies

He could have a Charles Woodson type effect on our team. Remember, 2010 Woodson was 34, this year peanut will be 34. Both are strong leaders and possess similar qualities. I really think he could be a great short term solution on the outside, move bene inside and give us a really decent 1-2-3 corner combo.

I'll never get it, how can the saints, who imploded last season and had one of the worst offseasons in NFL history can be considered anything but a cellar dweller. I guess Brees will throw to Brees, who will also block for Brees. Brees is also listed as their starting punter, kicker, DE, SS, and return man. I expect them to be no better than 6-10 next year.

RUMOR: Panthers looking to move up to 16-20th pick
Carolina Cajun replied to @bobbyagnese's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'd even say, if he's as good as jones, I'd be furious, far to many holes in the near future to waste all the draft on one player. Also, no one will believe me, but this free agent receiver market has shown what the future holds, mark my words, receiver value is declining as drafts get deeper and deeper with day 1 starters at receiver. What happened with the running back market is soon coming to the wideout market, and guys will look back a drafting a receiver in the top 5-10 as ridiculous picks. -
RUMOR: Panthers looking to move up to 16-20th pick
Carolina Cajun replied to @bobbyagnese's topic in Carolina Panthers
This is what I thought about too when I saw this. If there's 16-19 legit first round talents, and we're considering moving into the 16-19 range, I think there's something to the fact that g-man might really want his first round talent. I've said that I think he'll move up in the second, but I think this is a legit possibility as well depending on what talent drops. -
Farewell Denarius, may your mythical madden esque numbers never cease in the the minds of those who desperately wanted you here.

If Jimmy Graham were still in the division, sure. With him gone, no need to waste such a high pick IMO.

1) Todd Gurley 2) Jake Fisher (Via trade, will move up in second to grab him and will use our 4th to do so) 3) Rashad Greene 4) Traded to get fisher

Has any player talked up by Riverboat worked out well for us?

I hate you offseason... -
We now have 2 OT's who were actually drafted...DREAMS DO COME TRUE!

Add in Norwell, Brown, Glanton and White as UDFA's and his track record is not just good, it's incredible. If he's not good with the draft, then hurney was a turd sandwich wrapped inside of an abortion.

I think he'll get a 1-2 year contract, but if he plays his cards right he can have 3-4 years left in him, key is the right situation. Carolina is hardly a bad situation, New Orleans wouldn't be bad from a numbers standpoint, jax and Miami are roach motels for him.

Padded stats means longer life in the nfl, longer life means more money. If he's a legit #2 her but only getting 7-800 yards receiving yards, if/when we move on from him, there is no other contract.

Is Oher the Answer at LT, Maybe, maybe not, but I know Bell was NOT the answer and he can be brought back for pennies after no one signs him. Ginn Is a deep "THREAT", he doesn't have to have the best hands in the world to give the threat of going deep to him. If we brought in Jennings this would not fix our team speed, he would provide the #2 receiver people are asking for but honestly, that is still possible in the draft. I don't want mediocrity, but I do think we have more positives heading into this season than we did last, and when adding the Hardy and smitty drama to it all, we were set up for failure. There's no debate that right now we have better starters and more stability than we did at this point last season and it's not even close. Again, like I said, I'm willing to wait to see what happens in the draft because as of right now we have 9 rookies coming in and we need places on the roster for these players, and hopefully these players will fill the holes we have and provide depth where needed.

I know a lot of guys are freaking out about the moves (or lack there of), but honestly, ask yourself, are we better now than we were at this point last season? The answer is an emphatic yes, we have tentative answers at RT, and both Guard spots, a #1 receiver, and 2 good Corners, and at this point last year, we didn't have any of that, add to that Bell is out at LT and we have a legitimate deep threat and kick returner (all filled out by a single contract). I would love for us to have a more legitimate #2 and some O-line depth, but honestly, we're not as bad off as some would have us think. Selfishly I want us to be a little more active just because I want more pertinent discussion for the panthers and not just draft talk and what if threads. I think we will make a few more signings but they may be after the draft when we will have a more legitimate idea of where our depth issues are, Remember, as of right now, we have 9 players being brought in as rookies, and if we want to hold onto some of the rookie talent, we need room on the roster for said rookies, or else we might lose some of these guys when we try to move them to the practice squad.

Panthers interested in Landon Collins
Carolina Cajun replied to Kuech the Sneak's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think we're just doing our due diligence with multiple possible prospects. I think the key with having Collins come in is not so much as he will be the pick, but the consensus is he's the #1 safety, we can base just where all the other safeties will fall in the draft based on his particular skillset. I don't think he will be our pick in the first. I don't think they are gonna trade up to get either him or Trae Waynes in the first round, I think the second round is where it gets interesting. If Fisher is floating around there in the middle of the second and they really do view him as the LT of the future they could move some picks to move up and get him. I'm never right with my draft predictions, but I'm gonna say we'll draft Gurley at #25, Trade up in the second and grab fisher, and use a 3rd rounder for a receiver/DE/corner. I know the Gurley pick seems crazy, but the RB position is getting devalued and just 3 years ago he would be a top 10 pick, and as long as Shula is our OC, run game is ESSENTIAL to us being viable offensively and I predict that Gettleman wants to move on from Stewart's contract. Fisher will shore up our O-line at the tackle and between him, Oher, and Remmers we might field a (dare I say it) decent O-line which will make everyone look better. In the 3rd it'll depend on what position of need has the highest grade for G-man for what we pick.- 84 replies
