To get Bryce young, we traded DJ moore, CMC (for the draft capital), The 8th pick in 2023, first overall in 2024, and what will be the first pick of the second round (basically a first round pick). Bryce is not only going to be the worst first overall pick in NFL history, but this will easily go down as the single worst trade in NFL history and I cant see a situation someone does something this stupid ever again.

Id say "just keep rolling with bryce"...but sadly he sucks so bad we cant evaluate Canales as a coach. Last year it seemed everything else sucked so bad that we couldnt even evaluate bryce, now he sucks so bad that we cant accurately evaluate anyone else.

We have not held a lead in the 4th quarter since January 8th 2023.

I can be ok with Game manager as long theres glimpses of what he could be. If he is supposed to be a distributor and a cerebral QB, that can come along as the player learns new aspects of the Game IE what Drew Brees and Tom Brady did. Both were pretty much game managers on their rookie deals but showed signs of growth and flashes of greatness, it wasnt till the second contract where the brilliance showed up. Now if he's a Teddy Bridgewater level game manager and he's actively lost us games with bad turnovers or hesitant to throw into tight windows in the 4th of a close game and resorting to checkdowns that fall short, then I agree.

I think to an extent it was the old mentality. With Rivera, he was a players coach and if you were a back of the roster guy, Ron would tell them "If something happens, you're the next man up, I believe in you", that only goes as far as the talent you actually have on the roster. Rhule was the same, but he did the college "Rah rah" poo that got his guys on the roster and no matter what they werent going anywhere. Reich was just trash, CTE is a helluva drug. Now with Morgan and Canales, it seems like they are taking the modern nfl approach of Not For Long. Youre not competing with the other guys on this roster, you're competing with every single other player in the league. Our DBs clearly showed they didnt cut the mustard and this was a HUGE wakeup call for every single player on our roster regardless of position. Be better or be cut.

been saying all along, the O-line last year was so bad that I didnt know what we had in Bryce, still dont know. With a vastly improved O-line and a playbook that isnt written in half chewed on crayons, we're gonna find out. I Dont think he is as bad as he looked last year, but we're gonna find out.

it would make sense, if I understood right, Josey was more a manager MLB in denver and Shaq has always been best when he's able to pin his ears back and play freely especially considering he already played under Evero and knows the defense. Shaq CAN call the shots on defense, but he's better when he's not having to make the decisions pre-snap.

The Christmas Slinger There was a little boy growing up in the piedmont who LOVED Carolina Panthers football. All that little boy wanted was to make his dad proud and play football. His dad worked 6 days a week and was hardly ever around, except on Sundays to watch their beloved Panthers. The Panthers were awful, like truly terrible, they started the season 0-7 and he saw his dad be more and more sad until one day in a freak accident his dad passed away. The little boy was heartbroken. His mom looked at him and said "honey...I know its early, but you're dad got you this for Christmas", and she handed him a football that his dad bought for him for Christmas. He went to throw the ball, and he realized he had superhuman ability to throw. Overhand, underhand, sideways, didn't matter. He also knew what defense was happening and could make every throw, even 60-70 yards down the field. It was as if his dad was his angel helping him be the quarterback he dreamed of being. Mom brought him to a panthers practice one day and she dared the fastest player on the team to outrun a throw from the boy using his special ball. He couldn't do it and by that night, that 12 year old was signed to play QB for the Carolina panthers. The players still didn't believe him, he was a backup to start, but after going down 21-0 in their next game, the crowd chanted for the boy to play. he came in, with his ball and threw nothing but darts. The kid went 25-25 with 5 TDs and they came back to win the game. The team went on a hot streak and made it to the playoffs at 10-7 and he put up unheard of numbers, 6000 yards, 60 TDs, truly breaking all sorts of records on his way to the super bowl that was against the EVIL New England Patriots. It was back and forth all game, they got the ball back down by 2 with 2 minutes to go. On his way onto the field, he tripped and one of the other players stepped on his magic ball that his dad gave him...he no longer had his magic powers. He had the arm strength of a regular 12 year old boy again. After the first 3 plays of him throwing quick incompletes, coach took a timeout. He asked for the coach to put the original starting QB back in who now was his friend and fan, and he wanted to go in, but only if the boy was on the field too. They lined the boy next to the QB in a shotgun at RB, he handed the ball to the boy who ran forward, and tossed the ball back for a flea flicker caught by the fast Receiver from the day he went to practice, but oh no, he wasn't gonna get out of bounds to allow for a field goal. That receiver laterals to the boy who ran out of bounds. The panthers kick a winning field goal to win the super bowl. The Christmas magic from his dads ball got him here, but it was all him that made his dad proud and won their beloved panthers the super bowl. Last scene of the movie is that boy putting the popped ball on his dads grave. That little boys name you might ask? Bryce young.

Oline was worst in the nfl I agree last season, but with 2 solid guards and a very good rt, we aren't going to be a bottom 10 oline. As for defense, I'm not worried, we actually improved against the run and because burns was dog poo last year, were about the same in pass rush.

Ive been saying all along, We dont know what bryce is because of how bad the o-line and receivers were, but with this draft and the offseason moves, theres no excuse, we will know if hes worth a damn pretty quickly next season.

Looking at some of the highlights of our defensive selections I think I see that "dawg" mentality in them that Morgan talked about. They all seem to seek out contact and like to play physical.

From what I see, it makes sense. Move on from Donte and get a similar player at 5th rounder salary. Goal will be to groom him for the nickel spot, and if he doesnt, no harm no foul, its what late round picks are for.

I called it, its about the 5th year option depending on how much they loved the pick. Legette was their guy.

It will be interesting to see how everything falls. I can see a situation where theres a specific receiver that they love fall to the end of the first and trading up to like 30/31 to get and have a 5th year option for. ALSO I could see a situation where a qb like Bo Nix drops out of the first and a QB hungry team make a push during the layoff between day 1 and day 2 and sends a juicy package for us to fall back so they can get him. Lots of possibilities, we shall see.

I dont know that its as much of a weakness as people believe. He never really got a chance to go deep because the O-line was so beyond trash. If we're signing him for a cheap contract to compete in camp, I dont see a reason not to bring him in, even if you have chad pennington, you need someone to vertically stretch the defense atleast as even a threat, and that person isnt currently on the roster.

It may not be what some want to hear, but I wouldn't be surprised really at all if we made a move at the very tail end of the first BECAUSE and only because of the 5th year option. If there's a WR, Tackle, or Pass Rusher we absolutely love at the end of the first, I could see us expending a small amount of draft capital to move up and get him so that we have that player locked down for 5 years instead of 4.

He's been a clubhouse leader and that goes unnoticed a lot. If I remember correctly derrick brown went after Michael Thomas last year because he was talking poo about shaqs injury. The defensive guys definitely respect him.

In fairness, Fitterer and Hurney dont draft well, gonna see what morgan does and hope its better than what weve had. I think itll be fine as long as tepper keeps his dick fingers out of the situation.

I think a big part of that is offseason conditioning. prior to the rookie season they HAVE to stay in game shape because of the combine, the draft, then immediately into rookie OTAs, then into regular OTAs, then training camp. There's not any downtime to lose your conditioning. Between Rookie to Sophomore season though they view it as their first chance to relax in 2 years. The ones who make it are the ones who understand that part of the job includes the months between one season and the next.
