Carolina Panthers @ Chicago Bears Gameday Thread

jesus, that was the weakest effort I've ever seen from a WR by mingo. -
Do we attempt to extend Diontae this season?
Carolina Cajun replied to Panthercougar68's topic in Carolina Panthers
before the season I would have said nah, but he legit looks like a dude you build an offense around, like that good. I think he bumps heads in crowded WR rooms, but he's good when he's the one leading the room. He is a diva, but he also is fuging good, so let him be everyones darling and we can all be happy. -
Same, I think he had all the kind of potential that Burns had, speed and burst, but gets washed in run defense. Lets see what he can actually do in Evero's system since he got injured last year and didnt really get a chance to make a name.
-
He's part of the Panthers hall of "he was alright". Good starter, not a huge liability (although he shoulder tackled way too much), as long as he was here he was never the guy you had to gameplan for, but also never a guy you would worry wouldnt pull his own weight. His leadership will be missed, but his skills on the field are replaceable.

Im tired of saying this....we. are. rebuilding. NO! just roll with who we have, trading assets to get players is stuff playoff teams do, we are however, NOT a playoff team.

I know DJ Wonnum is still on IR with the quadricep injury, and K'Lavon Chaisson got cut for being trash before the season. I am interested to see if Jaden Crumedy can make any impact when he returns, would be nice to have another hit from the draft even if he's just developmental depth, cuzz we need the depth right now. The Linebackers are where I'm afraid, but its gonna be Trev Wallace's chance to make a name.

Does Andy have a fault in his game?
Carolina Cajun replied to Gapanthersfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Biggest flaw I always thought about Dalton was his arm strength, he slings in the short to intermediate, but I thought he had trouble pushing down the field when in Cinci. That said, he has decent arm strength and has showed some dimes here, but a good example of it still happening was on the INT that was overturned due to hold by the Cinci defender, XL had to slow down, but he had completely BLOWN by that defender and someone with great arm strength can get that far down the field. Generally speaking, no, Dalton isnt perfect and everyone needs to pump the breaks on that idea, but, he's good for what WE need which is quick decisive qb play and leadership. -
Last year it was "defense is ok, fix the offense and we'll be". Truth is, its draft, we have to draft better and develop players. I really like this years draft class, but we gotta keep drafting well, without good drafts we'll continue saying we just need to fix "insert new problem we neglect to fix a different problem"

So yea, we lost, but as many have said theres ways to lose that still provide hope and optimism. THIS game was one of those. At the end of the day, even though we're rocking a 36 year old QB, this is a very young team that has to learn how to win. Think about the 2 XL drops, Mingo drop, the dropped fake punt. Those are plays that veteran winning teams make, but we ARENT there...yet. XL showed some explosion on the outside that is super exciting, chuba and dare I say Miles Sanders actually looked good. On defense we are sorely missing Brown, and they were undeniably rough today, BUT, I remember thinking if there was a time they needed to show some "keep pounding" it was right after Shaq and Jewel went out, and the VERY next play the rush got to burrow and we got the turnover. It was legitimately the first time in years I yelled "Keep pounding", that was an attitude play. Also for all the bad on defense, Horn still looks like he does have that dawg in him. End of the day as we all know, winning in the NFL mostly comes down to a handful of plays, and it really depends on if you convert those opportunities, and right now with our youth we arent, BUT that will change with experience. Keep Pounding.

Just start hitting the refs. If we're gonna get flagged for bullshit, might as well make it count. Dumbasses can't even get their ass out of the way. -

As a Ragin Cajun alum and Panther fan dating back to Jake, I love this man. Its cool how many cajuns have graced our roster with Peanut and Melvin White also making the cut. -
feed. fuging. chuba! He is the dude right now

Bryce can’t be on the team this time next week.

No, The benching made him mad apparently, but I think as a spoiled brat kind of thing he dug his heels in "Im not the problem" kind of thing. Now he's on the sideline watching the same exact offense without him absolutely pummel a team. If this isnt a wakeup call for him, nothing will be. Dalton is an older QB, we will probably need his backup at some point, so keep him and maybe now with this true wakeup call he'll finally put in the work thats necessary. -

The sad part is is this comment is a microcosm of panthers fans feelings. We're just used to something going wrong. -

Oh I am excited to see what brooks can do too, but I said that about Chuba since it was the second straight drive with Sanders on the field instead of chuba.
