  1. wouldnt be sad to see robert saleh here. Bad HC, but he knows defense. Similar IMO to Wade Phillips. I do know Canales being young has a limited connection to other NFL coaches which will/would make the search a little different than some.
  2. Was thinking this, I don't think he's the worst, but he's taking the brunt of everything. I think when provided specific personnel for his scheme, it can be good to great, but it takes specific personnel that fits his specific scheme. Problem is, Everything wont always be perfect, need to adapt to the personnel you have. There's the old poker adage, "Play the hand you're dealt, not the one you wish you had" and because he couldn't adapt to his personnel, he'll lose his job. He'll rebound and be a fine DC somewhere, just not here. As for us, was thinking about what options are out there and thought about. Would wonder if Tepper and wilks would be willing to mend their bridge. I do think Wilks can be a good defensive coordinator, do think some of his old concepts would be decent with our personnel especially with his blitz heavy approach. That said, shouldn't be our first choice, but I also don't think it would be the worst option considering there's still players here with relationships with Steve and they clearly wanted him to stay in 2022. Just a thought.
  3. I'd say Hunt and Chuba. I think He'd split with Gibbs over Montgomery if he were on the roster. Skill position wise...nah. This is why I said in the "we will never get over the hump till we move on from bryce" thread that NONE of this matters until we improve the roster. Literally not a single thing. This roster is devoid of Next level play makers. Some could develop like Bryce, XL, Coker, or JT Sanders, but simply put, we are no where near that right now, so might as well ride with Bryce till we provide a roster worthy of having a QB thrive in.
  4. Was looking at whos playing who this week, I think realistically we end at 5. The giants just showed the team still fighting and the eagles will be resting like everyone, nothing to gain, everything to lose. Baltimore will play their starters fighting for the #3, so Cleveland is as good as dead. GB is iffy, I could see them give Love the second half off, otherwise, probably playing the starters, Chi loses. Buffalo benching everyone and Patriots have no benefit to tank because they have their QB, will go all in to win this. Patriots will win and ruin their draft spot. Houston says they wont rest starters, but I doubt they'll stick to it, feel some time for backups will happen. Tennessee can be fiesty, I think they win against an unmotivated Texans team. Lastly, big key will be what happens in the Bengals/Steelers game which will affect the Chargers/raiders game. IF Bengals win, then Chargers will have motivation cuzz a win gets them a more favorable matchup as the 5 seed. IF the Steelers win, Chargers will have nothing to play for locked in the 6th seed. Basically IMO if Steelers win, Chargers will rest starters and Vegas wins, if Bengals win, Chargers go all in and beat vegas. I think Vegas wins because I think the Steelers win. In my scenario, Cleveland is 1, NE is 2, Jax 3, Jets 4, us 5, Ten 6, NYG 7, Chi 8, Vegas 9, NO 10. Still, a lot could happen, but will be interesting none the less.
  5. Ya know, I'm old enough to remember the "rg3 is better than cam" convo. Even with that, ya think we'd be better off with someone like Anthony Richardson? Dude can't hit water in the ocean. Bet ya if Jordan love started year 1 he'd have been "trash". Let's see what happens. It's too early to know for sure.
  6. Maybe, maybe not. Regardless, I'd say just roll with him for the time being. Lets face it, look at this roster, Where are the game changers. Chuba has developed, so we got that, but defense Brown is great if healthy. Jaycee can be good, but not been a gamechanger. We HAVE to build a foundation first, until then doesnt matter who our QB is.
  7. true, but teams will fall in love with guys at pro days and combines. It happens every year. Anthony Richardson had no business being a top 10 pick. Neither JJ Mccarthy or Bo Nix (Who has been a good pick) would have been early first round picks either, but teams fall in love with guys. IMO Jalen Milroe, Shedeur Sanders, and Cam ward all go first round for sure, 2 of those top 5. I also think the "fell in love because of underwear workouts" winner is going to be Drew Allar because he possesses next level arm talent.
  8. dude...I cant believe we stole a 4th round pick from the cowboys for Mingo. Legitimately baffling as to WTF they thought they were doing.
  9. you're right....Definitely should be expecting a 2nd year QB to be able to elevate the talent around him like prime Aaron Rodgers, Peyton manning, Patrick Mahomes, Drew Brees, or Tom brady. what was I thinking.
  10. they have 2 receivers who are gonna eclipse 1000 yards, a big bodied TE (albeit, has never lived to his potential), and an elite RB. We have (checks notes) a 34 year old past his prime receiver, and a bunch of rookies. We had an elite RB, so I'll say RB would be a push, but at every other receiving skill position there is far more developed talent than anything we have on our roster.
  11. Imagine if we drafted a kicker in the 7th round who was elite with great leg strength and undeniably clutch. I mean, itd take a brain dead franchise to let him go to hold onto an old pile of unclutchworthy poo right? We'd never do that right? RIGHT!?!?!!?!?!?!?!
  12. In fairness, Pretty sure it wasnt a very desirable workplace for the ladies on "jeans day" during the Richardson years.
  13. At this point I'd be ok with 59 doppelganger AKA AJ Klein
  14. Not really in love with him, literally said he could be good depth for us at a position of need in the future. Lets see what he can do, I'm hopeful that he can carve a role on our team as a backup and special teamer who can come in and contribute when necessary.
  15. The good thing is you can still see the effort and his motor. like you said theres a lot of potential. You cant coach effort, you can coach technique though.
  16. In short action yea, but in fairness, I think Wallace has also shown some small flashes.
  17. So, I for one had no clue who the guy was before the game today, but seeing him play made me think we might have found a little diamond in the rough. Now don't get me wrong, he's a UDFA we snagged from someone elses Practice Squad, but he was all over the field making tackles (Including a regular tackle that was penalized for a Hip drop for no reason....fug the refs). Ended the game with 4 Tackles, 1 sack. Not saying he's some earth shattering breakout player, but does seem like he has the potetial going forward to be depth on our roster. I'm more than happy leaving him out there full time for the last 2 games to see what he has, but was encouraged by this week atleast.
  18. Carolina Reapers showin up again, executing the cardinals playoff chances
  19. Dont pay attention to the announcer, do not settle for a field goal, Eddie hasnt been money lately.
  20. Man, I'm so fuging tired of these absolute dogshit refs. Zero accountability for being absolute failures. If I were a player I'd be fuging pissed, you have to answer to the media meanwhile these window licking chucklefugs get to fail miserably. fug the refs.
  21. I get that Allen is amazing, but I'm gonna buck some of the glazing here. IF we are talking PURELY PRIME...Cam. Cam Newton in 2015 was a generationally transformational player. Cams prime was ruined by injury in 2016, and he was never the same, but lets say the injury doesnt happen, his Prime continues. Cam could make every single throw, he could run over people, he did things that Allen physically cant do and frankly as the tank he was no one ever has. Simply put, you cant tell me that if tomorrow Allen takes a shot to his throwing shoulder that destroys his ability to push the ball deep (which is a lot of what makes allen special and what made Cam special...god his backfoot 60 yard on a rope to ted ginn against the raiders in 2016 pre injury is still one of the most insane throws I've ever seen) that everyone here would still say Allen over Cam. We have to contextualize based on how long the "prime" window was, Cams window got slammed shut unfortunately and its a true shame.
