This is where I’m disconnected from this Burrow and Stroud stuff. Yes, they both had elite elite WR options in college. Then Burrow came into the league with Boyd and Higgins, then Chase the next year. We have NO 2024 first to even attempt to pair Stroud with Harrison again. We have to dumpster dive (unless you really think Flowers or Downs or Jakobi Meyers is the answer to our one).. and Stroud has never played with this bad of a WR group. What is Burrow without these elite perimeter players? We don’t know and we never will. Young has proven himself with “meh” weaponry.
-
He also compared em to Goff. I honest to god don’t know how good Burrow would do with these Wr. I’m not saying he’d suck or anything but it’s such a tall ask to make this wr group work. Young threw to a lot of meh prospects and made it work. I’m just a big young guy.

Bouttes bad year and combine make him fall to 3rd I think, that’ll be great tbh.
-
He was clutch in a lot of aspects in that game but there’s just something about Young. He makes me feel safe and warm.
-
Young please. Not buying the durability concerns. Can’t emulate the it factor he has.
-
I mean playing in the SEC is as close to NFL emulation as you’re gonna get and he faired fine. He takes smart contact and plays angles as good as any qb I’ve seen. I’m legit hoping for Young.
-
It’s kinda gut feelings and believing what ya see. I just see franchise leader in Young. Also I appreciate you keeping it civil and cordial regarding disagreements on these qb. Impressed with no bashing.
-
I PERSONALLY think if it’s Stroud, we’re toast. If it’s Young, you can build with it.

I just don’t get why everyone’s so elated over this. This front office is CONSTANTLY short sighted and panicky. You think an offense of Laviska Shanault , Terrace Marshall, Shi Smith, Ian Thomas, Chuba Hubbard is making noise with Cj Stroud, who’s been BLESSED with skill talent above competition at every position. Did Bryce have Marvin Harrison JR, Garrett Wilson, Chris Olave, Jaxson Smith Njigba, and Emeka Egbuka? Did he have the top pure LT prospect in this draft? Did he even play in the SEC? Hes been kid gloved. He’ll be a FINE nfl qb in the right circumstance. I don’t think this situation is even good at this point. Good OL, good defense, bottom 5 skill position players. Bryce has done this with all of these circumstances. He’s played in the hardest conference, with lesser talent, and to ME he just looks better.

This is what I’m talking about. Yeah let’s just assume this qb will save us regardless of surroundings. Pat mahomes is 5 years in and still has one of the if not best TE ever and multiple dart throw wr (toney, juju) to play multiple chess pieces. y’all are throwing names like 32 year old Adam Thielen. It’s not like the Vikings are swimming in Wr depth either.
-
That’s just not true. Running backs aren’t being given 20-25 million dollar a year contracts. ALOT of teams are struggling with finding wr. We’re in that majority HEAVILY.
-
Our offense needs a DYNAMIC player. Not a maybe number 3 wr with an expensive name.
-
Ah yes, take away the ONLY half decent option we have, that’s the solution.
-
I hope this board realizes what it means throwing from Marvin Harrison Jr, Garrett Wilson, Chris Olave, Jaxson Smith Njigba, and Emeka Egbuka in the big10. to Terrace Marshall, Shi Smith, Laviska Shanault in the nfl. This offense will have zero identity. Game breaker at rb? Lol no. Decent wr? Bottom five in the nfl. Star tight end? LOL. This is bogus.

Please be Bryce.

Can’t wait to see what we throw out at wr now !

Ryan Poles trying to drive up the cost of the #1 pick

I’m good, lol. Obviously HOU or IND have to pay pennies compared to us. Deal with them. Not buying your soup. -
Will Kunkel says we're only "seriously interested" in three
Eric4280 replied to top dawg's topic in Carolina Panthers
I refuse to believe any report or this or that until a trade is made or until draft night. It makes no sense for the panthers to show their hand this early in the game. It’s good to hype up “panthers aren’t interest in Richardson” junk , maybe it’ll entice teams to not think they have to jump us for him. -
I may be the most anti Stroud member on this board. Not any fault of his either. I just see an inevitable “solid” qb in the making. Not one that could change and lead a franchise. I’d rather swing a little bigger on any of the other three. Just my preference.

(Non-QB) Player You Want the Most in the Draft
Eric4280 replied to bLACKpANTHER's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think Dexter or Mazi would be great at NT for us. Mazi specifically has great size and led all dt in bench I believe. Don’t care about the off field thing. -
Trading THREE FIRSTS FOR DAK is hilarious. He played in the big10 with constant WR1s. Why do we ignore this? Did Bryce play with Garrett Wilson, Chris Olave, Jaxson Smith Njigba, Marvin Harrison Jr, Emeka Egbuka… who are all first round WR! Does levis? Does ar? We are not surrounding Stroud with this talent gap and how do we know Stroud makes something out of nothing? Yeah, fine, cherry pick numbers but ignore all other circumstances. Fields had a 68.5 rating, paced for 3600 passing yards, had a 67-9 td/int ratio in college and yet we passed on that for a CB! (Which I’m happy we did because horn is a dogs dog). Yet Fields gets into the nfl and there is no improvement and the team is picking first , two years later. Why? Because the cast you put around these qb matter! Unfortunately this team doesn’t have the talent around him to emulate what happened at OSU. We don’t have Garrett Wilson, Olave, MHJR, JSN, or anything of that nature. We have solid and sturdy Dj Moore and trending to bust TMJR ( who I feel can turn it around). By not having these firsts, how are we helping out Stroud? “2024 cap space” which is FOURTEENTH best in the NFL? Where is our Chase? Where is our Hill and Kelce? Where is our Stefon Diggs? I do not doubt that Stroud will be a SOLID NFL QB. But I sincerely do not see franchise potential and we will not be able to surround him with premier talent.
