  1. I feel like every thread is “who can we take who do they like, I like Stroud tho”.
  2. If we’re genuinely looking at AR15, we have to move down to 2 at LEAST and get something back. I highly think a move to one isn’t necessary.
  3. Exactly this , exactly this, exactly this. The patchwork we are going to throw around Stroud will suck. I do not care about our minimal cap space this year or that second round pick. That isn’t supplementing Stroud properly. Our rb suck (as good as they’ve been, ANY nfl rb would’ve excelled behind this line, running 45 times a game). We don’t have a “weapon” out of the backfield. We need Gibbs or something splashy. Our tight end room is dog water too. Our wr room is LOL. Stroud never had to deal with all of this and I personally do not see him overcoming it. Young HAS in the Sec and Bama looks damn near like an un ranked team without him. This OSU qb bum this upcoming season will look more than serviceable because of that conference, that wr talent, and the coaches ability to scheme to the qbs strength.
  4. The gameplan was perfect. It mostly worked. I just don’t see the things Stroud does that makes him the 4/1 favorite amongst our fanbase in terms of number one selection. I guess size is the factor for a lot of people but Young has franchise potentials. Is it out of the realm of possibility that Stroud is just in that “almost a franchise guy but won’t quite get there” tier?
  5. This game was LITTERED with west coast style quick slants and a few deep flats. They’re not bad throws by any stretch of my imagination but Young just does so much more.
  6. No. Stop mortgaging more future capital. We’re already behind the 8 ball with future picks. If this doesn’t work , we’re screwed for the next three years. Just stay where you are and take Flowers or Downs or Hyatt and see if Rice or someone falls to our third. Or even Boutte late third. Down year but has WR one upside and showed the pedigree before this year.
  7. I think we’re underrated how hard it is to replace GOOD Wr. Fact of the matter is we have a bottom 5 RB room, bottom 3 WR group, bottom 5 TE group. If we had a decent TE room and young stud RB, fine, we can patchwork the WR group. We have NO identity in skill positions on offense and I can’t find ANY team with a worse group of weapons than we do at this point. Thielen, Meyers, Flowers, Downs, Hyatt… doesnt fix this. The identity is going to be strong OL, rookie QB, crappy wr, rb, and te group. I keep saying it but YOUNG thrives in this setup a lot more than Stroud does. Bryce has had crumbs to work with compared to what Stroud has always had.
  8. This is where I’m disconnected from this Burrow and Stroud stuff. Yes, they both had elite elite WR options in college. Then Burrow came into the league with Boyd and Higgins, then Chase the next year. We have NO 2024 first to even attempt to pair Stroud with Harrison again. We have to dumpster dive (unless you really think Flowers or Downs or Jakobi Meyers is the answer to our one).. and Stroud has never played with this bad of a WR group. What is Burrow without these elite perimeter players? We don’t know and we never will. Young has proven himself with “meh” weaponry.
  9. He also compared em to Goff. I honest to god don’t know how good Burrow would do with these Wr. I’m not saying he’d suck or anything but it’s such a tall ask to make this wr group work. Young threw to a lot of meh prospects and made it work. I’m just a big young guy.
  10. Bouttes bad year and combine make him fall to 3rd I think, that’ll be great tbh.
  11. He was clutch in a lot of aspects in that game but there’s just something about Young. He makes me feel safe and warm.
  12. Young please. Not buying the durability concerns. Can’t emulate the it factor he has.
  13. No chance HOU gives that 12 pick for a move up right? I’m just dreaming lol, but man how great that would be.
  14. I mean playing in the SEC is as close to NFL emulation as you’re gonna get and he faired fine. He takes smart contact and plays angles as good as any qb I’ve seen. I’m legit hoping for Young.
  15. It’s kinda gut feelings and believing what ya see. I just see franchise leader in Young. Also I appreciate you keeping it civil and cordial regarding disagreements on these qb. Impressed with no bashing.
  16. I PERSONALLY think if it’s Stroud, we’re toast. If it’s Young, you can build with it.
  17. I just don’t get why everyone’s so elated over this. This front office is CONSTANTLY short sighted and panicky. You think an offense of Laviska Shanault , Terrace Marshall, Shi Smith, Ian Thomas, Chuba Hubbard is making noise with Cj Stroud, who’s been BLESSED with skill talent above competition at every position. Did Bryce have Marvin Harrison JR, Garrett Wilson, Chris Olave, Jaxson Smith Njigba, and Emeka Egbuka? Did he have the top pure LT prospect in this draft? Did he even play in the SEC? Hes been kid gloved. He’ll be a FINE nfl qb in the right circumstance. I don’t think this situation is even good at this point. Good OL, good defense, bottom 5 skill position players. Bryce has done this with all of these circumstances. He’s played in the hardest conference, with lesser talent, and to ME he just looks better.
  18. This is what I’m talking about. Yeah let’s just assume this qb will save us regardless of surroundings. Pat mahomes is 5 years in and still has one of the if not best TE ever and multiple dart throw wr (toney, juju) to play multiple chess pieces. y’all are throwing names like 32 year old Adam Thielen. It’s not like the Vikings are swimming in Wr depth either.
  19. That’s just not true. Running backs aren’t being given 20-25 million dollar a year contracts. ALOT of teams are struggling with finding wr. We’re in that majority HEAVILY.
  20. Our offense needs a DYNAMIC player. Not a maybe number 3 wr with an expensive name.
  21. Ah yes, take away the ONLY half decent option we have, that’s the solution.
  22. I hope this board realizes what it means throwing from Marvin Harrison Jr, Garrett Wilson, Chris Olave, Jaxson Smith Njigba, and Emeka Egbuka in the big10. to Terrace Marshall, Shi Smith, Laviska Shanault in the nfl. This offense will have zero identity. Game breaker at rb? Lol no. Decent wr? Bottom five in the nfl. Star tight end? LOL. This is bogus.
  23. I’m not making my mind up on him with ANYTHING I saw last year. It was a lost year. It was a year under Matt the moron. I am conflicted if this report is real because then the coaches aren’t willing to see either, but they do know more than me or you.
