No? When did I call Stroud trash? I’ve been countlessly saying that he’s been spoon fed and playing the game on easy, but never trash. I’ll admit his strengths but the weaknesses scare me.

We have to be the sloppiest team of all time in regards to coveting draft capital. Trade a second for Darnold, Trade a third for Henderson, Trade the package we did to move up to 1, trade a 4th last year and 3rd this year to get a QB that we gave like 7 snaps to, trade a sixth for Gilmore (albeit a great move) just to never use em. So much waste.

I don’t think so, honestly. But others will disagree. Dj moores had the worst case of qb play mixed with coaching, maybe in the history of the league lol. He’s also 25 and cheap. Maybe he never dominated in the league but we’re in a weird spot now, potential wise.

So since the things around you don’t matter apparently… how’s Fields looked now compared to how he looked in college? We have that Bears level of WR now, maybe worse. But the thing that made Fields serviceable was his legs- which Stroud does not have (don’t feed me this crap about potential speeds, watch them ACTUALLY run and tell me Stroud is naturally capable). Im not allowed to PROCEED WITH CAUTION regarding Stroud because he’s been spoon fed in an elite system, with elite talent around him, facing a weaker than SEC conference for two years without hearing something ridiculous garbage from Pro Stroud folk that don’t like when you point out things should be pointed out. “You can’t fault him for the WR he played with” why can’t I? What does Stroud do when our trash can WR can’t separate? How does he adjust? WE DONT KNOW! That’s why I’m cautious on him!

It’s been pointed out countless times on here and I’m sure I’ll get flack for it. Yes, fine, Young didn’t play elite nfl players every week. Stroud will not have Garret Wilson, Chris Olave, Marvin Harrison Jr, Jaxson Smith Njigba, and Emeka Egbuka level wr talent gap over primarily big10 level CB. Terrace Marshall, Laviska Shanault, Shi Smith and maybe Jakobi Meyers… Adam Theilen, Juju… and whatever leftover is at 39 (I hope Hyatt for the team build purposes). Yep. Young will ALWAYS be small and that’ll scare a lot. But there is a chance that Stroud ends up being just a solid mid tier qb, unless ya surround him with real talent. And that’ll be hard to do until like 2024 because THIS team needs a first round WR. Not a solid wr 2 , a real bonafide one. It also needs a real WEAPON out of the backfield . Not Chuba Hubbard. It also needs usage at Tight End, not Ian Thomas. Our build is exactly why I’m afraid of Stroud and get crap for it. If we had ATL weapons, fine yeah absolutely Stroud has 2 huge targets that are potentially elite. Come here and you’ll have to scrape the bottom of the barrel (and do not try to sell me on this FA class of wr please) at damn near all positions.

Everything about playing qb, isn’t in question. It’s that other thing that everyone is infatuated about.
