No, it can still be used as a small piece of data to evaluate QBs. The problem is our genius front office made it the single most important data point to draft a QB while 31 other teams laughed at us.

The problem that the defense played significantly worse for him than Bryce? All I saw was Dalton throwing receivers open (even if they were in tight windows) despite having zilcho run game, Icky getting about 30 false starts in the game, and the defense being utterly worthless. If Bryce starts that game, we lose by 30+

You have a magic wand to fix our biggest problem.

Yikes, that's a whole lot of significant problems to fix. Like others have said, the common denominator between all of them is Tepper. So literally selling the team to anybody else besides him would be the best option to fixing this dumpster fire. -
How many of these plays could Bryce make?
PleaseCutStewart replied to PanthersGOATFan336's topic in Carolina Panthers
I did. And Cam still somehow managed to get about 1500 yards passing to Lafell, Naanee (holy crap forgot we had that bum), and Shockey. That 1500 yards might be more than Bryce's total passing yards this season... -

His rookie year? Outside of Steve Smith, he had the likes of Brandon Lafell, David Gettis, and Armanti Edwards catching passes (along with the corpse of Jeremy Shockey at TE). Let's not pretend Cam had all world receivers to throw to his rookie year. I forgot we did get Olsen that summer from the Bears, so he did have better receivers. Still not all world difference. -
Him being small has been the least concerning thing for me so far. It's every aspect of being a good QB (arm strength, accuracy/touch, scrambling, pocket awareness, not fumbling, reading a defense) that has me alarmed. If he were 6'2", I would be equally as concerned about him being a bust as I am right now.

Anyone else hear the freefalling sound of Burn's trade value with each passing game? At the rate he has been nonexistent, we might not even get a 2nd rounder for him.

Has Young shown flashes of being a #1 pick?

You mean you aren't impressed with the amazing screens and dump off passes Bryce has thrown??? -

Yeah, as bad as our oline is, Houston's is even worse -
Just how BAD is Bryce Young?
PleaseCutStewart replied to BrisbanePanther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yep, this will be one of those decisions by our front office that we will look back on for the next 10 years and say how did we blow that. I can only hope that we don't use the S2 test as our top criteria for picking a QB next time... -

I'm pretty sure Minnesota is the worst defense in the NFL and Bryce couldn't even manage a touchdown against them... -

Just a dumb comparison. Going beyond stats, you could tell that Trevor Lawrence was still really good despite having no talent around him and had that it factor. While Bryce also has little talent around him, at no point have I been like "wow, how did he do that". Pretty much the only words that have come out of my mouth in regards to Bryce is "what the hell is this idiot doing" -

I still can't believe we didn't take Stroud... It's the equivalent of passing on Newton to draft Blaine gabbert -

Short answer - no. He hasn't even shown flashes of a quarterback who deserved to be drafted in the 7th round -
Is Tepper is the worst owner in the NFL?
PleaseCutStewart replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
Possibly. Davis with the raiders is probably worse IMO -
The sad thing is we might be 2-2 if Dalton started every game. Bryce is just that bad/not ready
-
Agreed we blew that trade. But We have seen how incompetent our front office is, so I'm not surprised in the least bit they got bamboozled
-
Every town has a village idiot. The person who thinks we shouldn't have traded Burns last year is said idiot
-
Wouldn't we have had the Rams first round pick last year also, which was I believe a top ten pick? I can't remember if they had already traded that one away or not
-
I was against the CMC trade because we should have gotten more IMO. But let's be real, CMC isn't making this team much better when you have pickles 2.0 at QB and half of our good players are hurt
-
Yep. Turn our attention to the hurricanes and give no attention to the Panthers. You will quickly realize you have freed up a lot of time on Sundays by doing so
-
Luckily we have a lot of picks for next year's draft. Oh wait, no we don't because we threw them all away for a bust of a QB
