Canes vs. Islanders Game 4 Sunday 1PM
PleaseCutStewart replied to Panthers Fan 69's topic in Carolina Hurricanes
Wow, I had to step away for the 2nd period and come back to a 3-0 lead. I might have to not watch the rest of the game then -

We need KK to punch some more guys on the Islanders and give them a taste of their own medicine -

Those kinds of cross checks happen the entire game. Soft love tap. If we are calling that a cross check, there better be a penalty every other minute because that same type of check happens in front of the net and along the boards all the time. -

I agree the Islander flopped. But it's one of the other, not both -

Good, fuging hurt these pricks. 2 minutes, well worth it if we can put Islanders' players on the IR -

What a freaking joke. Guy literally runs from the other side of the ice full speed and checked his head into the boards... If that is only 2 minutes, I am telling our players don't worry about losing this game, just check every good Islander players heads into the board -

Seriously, somebody tell Pool to just literally take a slash at Barzal's knee and see if he can put him out the rest of the season -

Back in the day when I played in a hockey league for the Wolves on Xbox, we called our team the Sh*twolves. Seems like a very appropriate name for this current cast of characters we have on our forward lines. -

NFL model analytics player compares
PleaseCutStewart replied to Lame Duck's topic in Carolina Panthers
These are some weird comparisons. Literally - I don't see one commonality between Young and Teddy 2 Gloves... Wentz never had the accuracy that Stroud does right now. And if the comparison between Levis & Darnold is that they will both be/are busts, then sure I agree. -

Great pass by Stall and what a snipe by Fast. Good win after the gut punch blowing a 2-0 lead -
CJ Stroud Film Breakdown Megathread
PleaseCutStewart replied to Ricky Spanish's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm confused. So you are saying he sucks because his team was much more talented than everyone else. And then when he played the most talented team in college football and absolutely shredded them through the air and on the ground, crickets??? I guess he got lucky... And let's blame Stroud for losing to Michigan the past 2 years because their defense let Michigan run for like 400 yards in each of the games... But yeah, let's pretend that Bama has a bunch of 2 star athletes on their team and that Bryce didn't have talent surrounding him also. Bama's oline was still very good and while Ohio St. has an elite WR in Harrison and a very good one in Egbuka, there wasn't much of anything else at TE/WR behind those 2. If you want to argue that Ohio St.'s scheme will be a problem translating to the NFL, I will give you that. But go watch Stroud's game against Utah in the bowl game 2 years ago and tell me the dude is a bust. Nobody in this draft had a better game in their careers than he did against Utah in that game. And I'm not talking just stats - the dude was throwing 20+ yard routes with pinpoint accuracy despite having no run game, an oline that allowed more pressure than they should have, and an absolutely awful defense that lucked out that Utah's QB got hurt to actually make a stop on D. -
But Bryce Young did good on a test...right??
PleaseCutStewart replied to PanthersGOATFan336's topic in Carolina Panthers
Makes sense then that he is not being talked about. Sounds like a QB you can scheme around to make him look pretty good if he has a good O-line + weapons. I honestly don't think Purdy is anything special. But when you have a top 5 RB, TE, and good WRs, you don't need to be great. He pretty much avoided the back breaking mistakes and just rode those playmakers + their defense the entire season. Not saying QBs like that are bad - they just won't win you any games. -

PleaseCutStewart replied to PanthersGOATFan336's topic in Carolina Panthers
No, but what he is = a run first QB. And what I have seen from QBs like that is they will have a short shelf life if they aren't freakishly built like Cam (who himself barely made it to 30 before the wear and tear broke him). The Bears are doing him no favors because they are calling like 10-15 designed runs a game for him (again, because he is limited as a passer). I just don't see him making it another 2-3 seasons with his physique. -

PleaseCutStewart replied to PanthersGOATFan336's topic in Carolina Panthers
I honestly know nothing about him, but a high completion percentage doesn't necessarily mean an accurate thrower. It could have been scheme results or him being good at reading defenses and adjusting (i.e., quick hitters on blitzes, check downs to RBs, etc.) I would guess if he isn't being talked about, his arm is super weak, he lacks athleticism, and probably has a slow release time when throwing -

And when he still throws for 100 yards a game, rushes for 150, and gets hurt multiple times next season, what will the excuse be then? -

PleaseCutStewart replied to PanthersGOATFan336's topic in Carolina Panthers
Because reaction time (or whatever the hell the S2 measures) doesn't mean much when you have no arm strength, no accuracy, and no athleticism... -
If we freaking start Freddie in the playoffs, I'm going to lose my poo... Might as well just play with an empty net the entire game if we do

Albert Breer: Bryce Young scored 98 on his S2 teat
PleaseCutStewart replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
IMO, if he had been taking the test as much as he has and bombed it, that would be more alarming than the reward of doing well on it. Repeated exposure on most things should always lead to increased scores/values. To your question - if he looked great on tape and scored terrible on the s2, I wouldn't put much consideration into the s2. Most of these cognitive/intelligence tests sports use just don't really align with the actual sport IMO. I do think the s2 has way more usefulness than the Wonderlic, but there are way too many variables on the football field for any type of cognitive test to factor in. The s2 should be low on the importance scale and I would hope that a poor score on the s2 would be obvious on tape, because the assumption would be that they are not making smart throws. -

I think it's less of a knock on Bryce and more of a we shouldn't put a ton of value into this 1 random test because we can name like 5 elite QBs who scored well on it without mentioning all of the QBs who have ever taken the test and their scores on it.
