I think the cowboys offense is pretty legit if they stay healthy. Their defense is a slightly better version of our D last year -

I mean... After the moron eagles player spit on Dak, the refs probably aren't gonna tolerate any players standing near another playing talk crap -

Not sure I would say the Saints can play defense. If our defense didn't exist last year, they would have been the worst run defense in the NFL. They made no improvements to their front 7 in stopping the run in the offseason, so I see that being a struggle again. They also have an oline that cannot pass block for crap - combo that with Rattler/Shough at QB, and that sounds like the 2023 Panthers dilemma we had to endure. -

I don't know - Tampa was pretty fortunate last year in some of the wins they got when they were outplayed by a good amount. Wirfs and Godwin are already nursing injuries that will keep them out a few weeks and if the Bucs lose them longer, that will hurt them pretty bad. I don't trust their defense also - you can definitely throw on them all day long. They are definitely better, but all it takes is 1 or 2 key injuries to change things quickly - losing someone like Wirfs (when they don't really have oline depth) can bring them much closer to our level pretty quickly. I think our defense will be a lot better this year and closer to the likes of 20-25th overall than far and away last place like we were last year. In that range, we won't be far from Tampa's defense (and possibly better). -

Playing the Saints 2x, Jags, Cards, Pats, Jets, Dolphins, Cowboys sans Parsons, and having the other 2 teams in our division not be great is the only reason we have a slim chance of finishing with a winning record. Don't get me wrong, I still fully expect us to go like 6-11, but the schedule is looking pretty fortuitous for us outside of games against GB, Buffalo, Rams, and maybe SF (if they are healthy). -
Injury report: 3 starting OL on it
PleaseCutStewart replied to Captain Morgan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah, I don't get it either unless they are afraid of another of their lineman being less than 100% and needing BC to fill in at another position on the line. But I would trust Zavala or Mays filling in there and keeping BC at LT over having Yosh step on the field -
Former Panther (Tuttle) finds new home
PleaseCutStewart replied to Leeroy Jenkins Ph.D.'s topic in Carolina Panthers
Probably, but the dude is at his best a last player on the roster kind of guy. We have played a lot of nickel/big nickel under Evero - it's not like he never had the chance to play on an even front for us. The guy struggles to eat blocks, shoot the gap, tackle, bull rush/swim past blocks, etc. Like he honestly has no trait of football I would call above average (and most I wouldn't even call average). He overachieved in 2022 and we stupidly gave him a 3 year deal off of 1 ok year -

I don't think a scheme change is going to help him out much... We ran plenty of 4-2-5 nickel while he was here and he looked terrible when he was out there on those downs -

Would have thought for sure his new team would be whatever CFL team has the equivalent of our defense from last year... -
BREAKING: Panthers release official depth chart
PleaseCutStewart replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Too late to do that after this draft. Most of our front 7 is better suited for a 3-4 compared to a 4-3. And honestly, we are still going to be in a nickel defense about half of the game because of how many 3 receiver sets are run. Nickel is the base defense now for a lot of teams -
Saints just released a good safety

Perfect - sounds like a good chance to get another Nick Scott on our team.... We will have the best special teams in the league while letting every team we play throw it deep against us -
Needing to move on from him because we were a dumpster fire (and still are) - I agree Saying we fleeced the 49ers is something... We 100% didn't (at least not yet). He was fully healthy the season he went there and the year after. Obviously last year didn't go too well for him on the injury front. If he continues to miss half a season or more the rest of the time with the 49ers, then I agree. Otherwise, we lost the trade

Observer Projections / *Updated Panthers Waiver Additions

Nice, hopefully that is the last of having to watch Bartholomew be complete ass -
Hmmm... Maybe he is right, but just reading your comment (I didn't listen to the podcast) makes it sound like Davis is upset he didn't touch the ball. Honestly, our coaching staff relied on CMC so much his last two to three years, it may not have only been CMC wanting to stay on. And while getting the ball six times in a row can be unusual, CMC was the rare player that was both the best running back and receiver on the team... I just think that speaks to CMC wanting to win and knowing that he was the best offensive player on the field for us. I still envision a parallel universe where Stanford didn't run CMC into the ground and he stays healthy for us his entire time playing for us.

Yeah.. I felt like he looked 80 years old like 30 years ago... Dude has aged terribly and I feel like he has to be pretty close to death's doorstep

And to think we could have traded burns, a pass rusher much worse than Parsons, for almost the same as Parsons... God we blew that chance
