  1. I'm always worried about Oregon skill position players because of the gimmicky offenses they run. I haven't watched much of Oregon this year, but I honestly can't think of any Oregon TEs they have been successful in the NFL. All I know is that we had some mediocre at best ones on our team like Ed Dickson and Dante Rosario in the 2000s...
  2. Brick wall Bussi holding it down for us so far. Let's score some goals here in the 3rd
  3. I don't think he is anywhere close to Bowers talent. Then again, Bowers is one of the best TEs ever to come out in the draft. Haven't looked at the TEs in this class, but I say just roll with what we got for next year. Get the defense fixed between edge rusher, edge setter DE, linebacker, and cover specialist free safety
  4. With the many needs we have on defense, I'm against TE unless some brock bowers freak talent is there to draft
  5. We just have to follow our script in wins of staying close and being down late and then either scoring a fluke TD/FG or hoping DB saves us... Tampa is a bad matchup for us - their receivers know how to read zone coverages and we won't get any pressure on Baker the entire game. On the other end, their D isn't very good but they stop the run well. Honestly think Bryce is going to have to ball out for us if we have any shot of winning. Based on past performances + our horrendous playcalling on offense, I say there is about a 5% chance of this happening
  6. We got pretty lucky being the sandwich game between the Seahawks games against the Rams and 49ers. Sucks that we are playing back-to-back teams that get extra rest from playing on Thursday, but I think the Seahawks will be looking ahead to San Fran when they play us. I doubt we win, but a 1:00 pm game on the east coast for a west coast team that will be looking ahead to week 18 sets up pretty well for us
  7. Seahawks were one of the best places Darnold could go - they have elite pass blocking tackles and their oline overall is very good at preventing pressure. Darnold was very good for Minnesota last year until Darrisaw got hurt - then it all fell apart for Darnold
  8. In his defense, he did try to blitz on the touchdown pass and Shough still had all day to throw. Evero has his problems, but it's really hard to scheme an effective defense when the pass rush is usually nonexistent (outside of DB beating a double team and getting pressure). Factor in linebackers that can't cover anything and it makes it hard to call any play that isn't zone. I think my biggest problem with his calls on defense is way too many times we are running drop zone and just giving teams a free 5-8 yards (assuming we don't miss the tackle). Whether we keep Evero or move on, this defense is severely lacking talent at many positions
  9. Because if you don't get it then the Seahawks just need a PAT to win it
  10. The good news is the Seahawks will 100% think it will be a cakewalk against us next week. It's probably a good thing they won because I can see them not taking us seriously next week
  11. Not sure you can blame Bryce game 2 vs the saints. D couldn't get off the field and the play calling was atrocious. One of the few times I think Bryce gets a "I'm bad, but the loss isn't my fault" card
  12. Won't argue against you there. The positive is that the extension isn't a killer and I don't think he hits his absolute bottom until the extension ends. As banged up as his knee is, he is still one of our healthier olinemen right now...
  13. Honestly not convinced moton is playing healthy and we are so thin at oline and are making him play through it. Pretty much our entire oline didn't look good that game, outside of maybe Lewis. One of the few games where I would say our oline was the biggest weakness on offense
  14. Arguably the biggest defense Bryce-stans have. DC is doing him no favors calling the same 4ish concept type of pass plays - playaction dumpoff to TE, X receiver comeback route, empty backfield 5 yard curls for all receivers, and slot deep in. Bryce is already a liability. The same stale pass plays most weeks doesn't help also. When we deviate from those stale plays, we get Rams type of games where the Rams sell out on short passes and we beat them deep. I just want a 4 game stretch where we call like 5-10 deep passes a game and see how Bryce does. If he stinks it up, then DC has his evidence of why Bryce isn't the answer. We literally aren't even giving Bryce a chance with these play calls, and this is coming from a guy that wanted CJ with our pick badly
  15. I still don't understand DC's logic on this... I watch Russ and Kyler, who are also short kings, have no problem sneaking the ball on 4th and 1. Like we haven't even given Bryce a chance to ever try sneaking the ball...
  16. Seems like it is just about every week that the NFL is admitting that some call was wrongfully called against us... And guess what, the NFL does nothing about it and gives us the same ref crew multiple other games in the season...
  17. Damn, that will be an easy win for the Bucs now unless they turn it over a ton of times. Ewers was a crap QB at Texas with first round talent all around him....
  18. Will they though? I don't think Tampa fans even care about their team after the Brady gravy train retired
  19. The good news is that usually when a lot of money is on 1 team, pro sports will usually try and fix it for the other team. Watch the Bucs end up winning by 1 or 2
  20. My god, he sounds dumber and dumber with each passing week. If this is truly something he believes (that a lightweight QB can't get 3 inches on a 4th down sneak), then why the hell haven't you signed a QB that we can bring in to sneak the ball in these situations... Or you know... If you aren't going to sneak it on 4th and very short, how about not calling a dive play up the middle when you know NO is going to blitz everybody possible up the middle
  21. Pretty sure any ounce of optimism we have is quickly extinguished when you get swept by a talent depleted Saints team...
  22. I'm pretty sure any corner that is thrown on an island against a 4.3 elite speed receiver will struggle. And it's hard to say who is responsible for what when we run zone what feels like 90% of the game.
  23. About as bad as last year. Wins over the Jets, Dolphins, and Falcons twice are unimpressive wins, beating a Cowboys team that was pretty banged up was an ok win, then we managed to surprise 2 teams that figured they could just win by showing up. Outside of the falcons week 3 win (where Penix was unspeakably bad) and the Jets win, all of our other wins have come by 3 points... Meanwhile, we have lost games by 16, 5, 29, 31, 10, 11, and 3.... If like 5 plays this season had gone differently, we are a 2 win team. We have had last year's Chiefs type luck in 1-score games and still won't finish above .500. When we regress to the mean next year with 1 score games, we will likely be back to 4-5 wins
  24. Nope, we ended up being underdogs. Opened as an underdog, moved to being a favorite for a little bit, then went back to being an underdog before kickoff
  25. The Panthers have now lost 12 consecutive games they were favored in. The last time they won as favorites - against the Texans in 2021... No better way to let the NFL know you are a dumpster fire franchise than a stat like that...
