  1. Seems like he could at the very worst be a good special teams player. Could be a good gadget player also
  2. They targeted McDuffie because the other top CBs weren't going to be traded. I saw plenty of McDuffie on the outside last year for the Chiefs and the dude made Horn's tendencies to get defensive holding/DPI look like a nothing burger in comparison. He probably won't be put on an island as much with the Rams because Spags blitzes like every single play. But I think there should be a good amount of concern for the Rams if they plan to line him up outside.
  3. Wow, Rams gave up a lot for a corner who has only been good in the slot. If McDuffie can get a 1st, 5th, 6th, and 2027 3rd, curious what the Rams would have offered us for Horn
  4. The guy has been a starting QB in college for 4 years and has looked awful for all 4 of those years. At least somebody like AR was younger and more of an unknown because he started so few games, so it was a little more unclear of whether he could be developed. I think it's safe to say Green won't develop into a starting QB (and probably not even a good backup QB). With the scrambling ability the dude has (because of his athleticism), I don't think I have seen a QB look as bad as he does throwing the ball when he breaks out of the pocket. Now, if you are drafting him in hopes of making him a slot TE or a WR, then maybe I get drafting him. But no, I would rather draft a depth offensive lineman or defensive lineman, safety, or something else that serves us more of a purpose than a QB whose only purpose is scrambling and QB sneaks. It also doesn't help he does not fit our scheme at all of quick passes and pre-snap reads
  5. The fact that people want us to use a draft pick on a guy solely for the purpose of having them QB sneak on 4th and 1 explains why our team has been void of talent via the draft the past decade... You can literally find just about any QB off the streets to do that job.
  6. If you are running man defense, probably. If you are running zone, not as definitive you need a safety or nickel on him
  7. His contract is that high because of natural salary cap increases. Once dudes like Dejean, Witherspoon, McDuffee, Gonzalez, etc. reach their 2nd contract, they will be paid more than Horn. It's the case for any very good/elite player that reaches their 2nd contract - they usually become one of the highest paid players at their position. Only thing that has me on the side of trade is the multiple concussions he suffered last year.
  8. Y'all realize that if we trade Horn, we are going to have to draft a corner high because all we have is Mike Jackson (29 years old) and a punch of scrubs or unknowns at corner. We are also trading away one of our maybe 3 guys on defense that are actually good. Let's also keep in mind how awful we have drafted the past decade (minus last year). And.... the Rams will probably be a top 5 team in the NFL next year, so a future 1st from them won't be as appealing. If the Rams offer both of their 1sts this year for Horn, sure (doubt this will happen). Otherwise, I'll pass
  9. Not after the injury he suffered. Gotta see how he does when he comes back (probably the 2027 season) to see how his burst and lower body balance/strength looks before even thinking about an extension
  10. At least Davis had an excuse being stuck on a crappy Maryland team that played a generic pro style offense (and still got 300 more yards than Sadiq in 3 less games). Oregon had a Heisman caliber QB throwing him the ball + an Oregon scheme that is very offense friendly. But agree that Davis had similar concerns going into the draft with his route running ability. That being said, Davis was a far more established blocker going into the draft than Sadiq.
  11. There might be like 3 prospects I would be willing to move up for if they fall out of the top 10 (Bain, Bailey, Reese), but I highly doubt any of them do. Otherwise, hell no to a trade up
  12. Well, at least we won't have to worry about his bad snaps any more. I still have nightmares about his snaps in the Jags game
  13. Spoiler alert - he has none of those. Picture a less athletic Anthony Richardson with a weaker arm - that is what he is.
  14. Funny enough, those good games Rico had were when Canales finally put BC at RG. Once BC got hurt, our run game turned to crap again (outside of the GB outlier game)
  15. When I say elite, I am talking Bowers and Tony Gonzalez type can't miss prospects. The ones that are the complete package (good athleticism, good blocking, knows how to position body for contested catches, able to run a complete route tree). I also wasn't big on Warren last year (although he at least had the college production) and wasn't sure on Loveland (didn't do enough research on him but was impressed with his route running). I just think TE is a luxury pick for us with how many positions we have that are void of talent. Now, if Sadiq is the best player (by a good margin) our front office thinks is available at 19, then I understand taking him. My worries with Sadiq is if he has to be used like a Pitts, Engram, etc. type TE where they get lined up in the slot because they can't block LBs or Dlinemen. And if that is what happens, it's pretty much like drafting an athletic tall receiver that isn't capable of running a complete route tree. And for how many freaks do we have... you do realize we drafted bum ass XL because we thought he was an athletic freak. Turns out that athleticism doesn't mean crap when you are dumb as rocks, can't run routes, and can't catch the ball... I feel like we have been drafting guys that are displaying elite athleticism at the combine over college production (and I think that has shown why a lot of our drafts prior to last year have sucked)
  16. Not saying our offense was great, but Rico did practically nothing the back half of the season (after the GB game). I don't think that will be as big of a loss as we are making it out to be.
  17. Much like RB, I don't think you draft TE in the top 25 unless they are elite level that will be great day 1 in the NFL. I don't think that is Sadiq. Yes, he showed elite athleticism at the combine, but not sure it really showed up on tape at Oregon. Still worried about how many games he disappeared in last season, if he will be able to block in the NFL (practically all of his blocking was in the spread formation against smaller guys), his drops, and his route running. He's definitely somebody that can become elite in the NFL, but athleticism alone won't get you there. The hype Sadiq is getting off of his combine results reminds me of the hype Evan Engram got. So I guess the question is... Would you draft Sadiq at 19 if he put up similar career numbers to Evan Engram?
  18. Happy bday man. The sphere looked cool when I rode by it when in Vegas - curious how the inside is
  19. Good 1st period. Now let's not have our usual 2nd half period poo show after a good 1st period please
  20. This team continues to impress me when we have everybody healthy. If we can get a good big by next season, I think this team could legit compete for the top seed in the East
  21. Honestly not that crazy. We spent big bucks on our 2 guards and he inherited a team from Fitterer that was completely void of talent at just about every position (while also not having picks because of trades by Fitterer). There are only so many picks we had and you can't fix every position group in a 2 year span
  22. It's honestly like watching a 5 year old playing soccer - they just aimlessly run around trying to get the ball. XL just aimlessly runs around the field and has no clue where he is 90% of the time
  23. Him being able to block corners is nothing close to the same as being asked to block D linemen or LBs. So no, he won't be a TE unless we line him up as a slot TE (which wouldn't be any different than him being a WR in all honesty).
  24. It's about time. He really shouldn't be calling plays unless there is a key play or 2 we need on offense late in a game
  25. Man, that is a lot of guys that played meaningful snaps for us last year we are letting test free agency... Kind of worried we are going to lose Yosh
