Painful choke to blow this game against a bad heat team without Bam

2026 Win predictions from DraftKings
PleaseCutStewart replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think TB will be a good deal worse talent wise next season. Evans and Dean are big losses for them. Losing White hurts also because the dude was really good on screen and swing routes; I like Gainwell, but 2 small RBs is an odd mix. Lavonte David retired (Alex Anzalone was a sneaky good free agency signing for them and probably their only good one). They still have no pass rush and their secondary is a mess now without Dean. Tampa might win the division next year, but they are going to have to outscore teams to win. I think they have one of the least talented defenses in the NFL. Outside of Vea, Anzalone, Winfield Jr., and maybe Diaby, their defense consists of a bunch of JAGs -
Canes/wolves vs flyers 7pm

It would be pretty fun with something like this. 3 on 3 the first 5 minutes, 2 on 2 the next 5 minutes (after a stoppage), then 1 on 1 (after a stoppage) the rest of the way. I just feel like this would be equal parts entertaining and chaos to watch -

I'm more surprised our odds to win the division didn't really improve that much after free agency (like +380 -> + 320). I threw a few hundred on us to win the division again at +425 back in February, just because I figured Atlanta and Tampa would get worse. After our free agency, I am still surprised Tampa is the favorite to win the division. -
Panthers Top 30 Visits and Draft Tracker

Kind of surprised we have looked at so few OTs so far. Leading me to believe that we aren't looking at OT round 1 (or they assume that all of the good ones will be gone by 19). Glad they went to look at McCoy. I think he is the best corner in this draft and would probably have been a top 10 lock if he didn't tear his ACL a year ago. I think he had a good pro day, so he might be back in that top 10 range -

He's somebody I'm hoping is on the board for us with our 2nd round pick. Guy can play nickel or cover safety well and fits into our zone heavy scheme perfectly -
Emanuel McNeil Warren + Jacob Rodriguez

Highly doubt he makes it to our 2nd round pick. Honestly not sure he even makes it to round 2 entirely -
MIke Kaye revised mock. April 6

Yeah, I am too. Outside of Styles, I'm not sure I have seen a 1st rounder's projection shoot up as much as his -

Freeling will likely be the 1st or 2nd tackle drafted. He isn't making it to 19 -

Might be one of the more appealing mocks I have seen. Not sure Thieneman makes it to 19 though. Haven't watched much tape on Hecht, but he has been mocked as either 1A or 1B for Centers (between him and Lew). I do think Bernard is the type of gadget WR Canales likes and is a much better gadget than Jimmy "jet sweep" Horn. Proctor is raw, but there is a bunch of upside I like him in. -
I'm kind of surprised Proctor is still graded as a 1st round talent. I highly doubt this guy makes it as a tackle in the NFL - his pass protection has many red flags and I think he will easily be beat like a drum by speed rushers (the Oklahoma edge rusher showed us proof of that, and by no means is he an elite pass rusher). I feel like all of the Bama tackles are top heavy with good strength but don't succeed at tackle in the NFL. That being said, I do think somebody reaches on Proctor just because he is freaking massive. He could be a very good guard, but those can be found outside of round 1. If you are drafting him because you think he will be able to play tackle, good luck to you

I feel like everyone keeps projecting Stowers or Sadiq to us. I just don't see it - I think we value in-line TEs more than most teams (and why our coaching staff likes Tremble and Evans). I think Klare is probably the only top 100 talent TE we could potentially draft. Maybe a day 3 pick on Roush, Raridon, or Delp

Draft intel from ESPN’s Jordan Reid

I'm guessing this guy must be the biggest sucker our front office could find to share fake news to -
As long as we have DB, odd man fronts are the way to go for us. We want to line DB up between the guard and tackle (4i-tech) because of how quick he is off the snap and his punch on the guard off the snap. If anyone is wondering why he pretty much has to be doubled (or combo blocked) just about every snap, its because he is lined up in that spot in our odd man front. If we change to an even front, it becomes a lot harder to have DB play the 4i-tech. Not sure if I would say Evero likes smaller NTs - I wouldn't call Bobby Brown a small NT by any sense. I think we run a 1-tech NT, so they are usually getting double teamed (or combo blocked) by concept alone. I actually think Bobby Brown did a pretty good job of eating blocks and being positionally sound on most runs at him (not his fault we were rocking ass LBs last year + Wharton being god awful). The bigger problem came on the toss plays/outside runs where DB wasn't able to blow it up in the backfield (i.e., the Bills game). Lloyd should help with the run D and getting a rangy LB in the draft will definitely help. There are also some good 1-tech DTs (and 0-techs) that can be instant day 1 starters for us in the draft.

QB Diego Pavia visiting the Panthers today
PleaseCutStewart replied to X-Clown's topic in Carolina Panthers
If it can work in Bojack Horseman, it can work for us! -
He is definitely the type of LB we need for passing downs
-
There is a lot to love about Rodriguez, but I still worry about him against the run. He will pretty much have to rely on the DL to eat up blocks because I think he is going to have a hard time fighting off blocks and making tackles.
-
We honestly don't even run 3-4 very much. I think we played nickel/big nickel like 60% of our downs last year (and probably like 15% more in dime). Now, we do primarily (possibly always) run odd man fronts in all of our sets. So that would be an interesting choice of switch if we decide to run all of our formations out of even fronts next season. I can't see us doing that because 1) many of our current players are built for odd man fronts, and 2) most prospects do best in odd man fronts.

Checks out - he meets the #1 goal of being under 5'10" -
I mean... Seeing as how it will probably only take 1 snap in practice for Brooks to get injured, I'm guessing our staff knows we need another RB while continuing to develop Etienne.

2025 Draft Re-Grades (Or, One Idiot Doubles Down)
PleaseCutStewart replied to Joe Bear's topic in Carolina Panthers
I feel like walterfootball was ok when it first started like 30 years ago because it was like the only mock draft site around. Now they are somewhere between Kiper and a flaming bag of crap -
BPA among edge, LB, CB, WR, OT, or S (if Downs/Thieneman are there). I will say corner because I think Terrell will be available at 19
