7 Wins And STILL Gonna Finish Last in the Division
PleaseCutStewart replied to Joe Bear's topic in Carolina Panthers
Depends on what 4th place teams you get. Having teams like the Vikings and Bengals be the 4th place teams you have to play isn't much better than the 2nd place alternatives IMO. Teams improve/get worse year-to-year, so I don't think schedule strength is that big of a deal, especially when injuries like Mahomes tearing his ACL happens. Chiefs will be a 4 win team next year if Mahomes doesn't play in 2026 -
7 Wins And STILL Gonna Finish Last in the Division
PleaseCutStewart replied to Joe Bear's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'd be thrilled if we somehow finish last in the division - means we get a better draft pick since we aren't making the playoffs -
Evero has his weaknesses, but it's hard to tell how much of it is him when we have a comically bad pass rush. Crazy enough, this is probably the most I have seen him blitz this year and I think it failed every single time. Usually our only chance at a sack is if DB beats the double team and gets interior pressure. Otherwise, the QB will have at least 5 seconds to throw the ball

Lol, lets pinpoint the like 1 play where Icky wasn't excellent and say that's the reason we lost... Instead of complaining about that, complain about Bryce not throwing the checkdown or our retarded coach not running the ball when we are at the 40 and only need 20ish yards to have a chance for a game winning FG...
-
I am still baffled why we have never tried one ever with Bryce. It's not like Russ or Kyler Murray or any other short king QB has never run one... Just baffling why we not only never call a QB sneak on 4th and inches, but we call the dumbest, slowest developing inside run in the world to guarantee we get stopped

It's over (and has been since the preseason). We might make the playoffs because the Bucs are also ass, but we are going to get beatdown Pats/Bills style in the 1st round of the playoffs if we do somehow make the playoffs. Outside of 2 fluke wins against the Rams and Packers, we are honestly no different from last year.

While I agree, the Saints were also having 10+ minute scoring drives. The Saints pulled our gameplan and limited possessions in the game. And while the yards looks bad, we really didn't call that many pass plays + Bryce actually made the right decisions for once scrambling/running when there wasn't anybody open. Outside of Coker, it seemed like none of our receivers got open yesterday. It's just annoying that we knew what the Saints would do on defense from the 1st time we played them and still decided to run up the middle against a 9 man box for half the game while still refusing to call any deep passes to make them adjust their defense. We called 2 designed deep pass plays and Bryce went 2/2 for like 70 yards on them...

All you had to do was beat a 3-10 team ONCE

Not sure about that one. Everybody knows the NFC South is Sh it Mountain and most years a .500ish record (or worse) wins the division. Sadly, if the Bucs didn't have every good player get hurt for them this year, they probably would have already clinched the division. Won't matter for them I guess since they will clinch the division against us next week -

We could draft the next Mahomes and this team still wouldn't be over .500 with the dumbasses we have calling plays... Bryce is going to end up being the scapegoat for DC. Yes, Bryce sucks... But DC is about as good of a HC as Bryce is a QB. Both have a random outlier game every month or 2 where you think they might not be that bad. Then reality sets in when the Saints kick the poo out of you 2x in a season... -

The most surprising thing about this year is somehow the Packers and Rams completely poo the bed against us (like in if the game was played 100 times, we lose it 99 out of 100 times). Otherwise, we would be the 5 win team most of us expected (with zilcho quality wins). Regardless, we are still like 3 good drafts away from being a legit playoff team (not one that can win the division and sneak into the playoffs with a losing record). -
I'm truly amazed how it seems like this team is just completely unprepared for their opponent week after week. I still think like 80% of our wins this year have happened in spite of DC being our coach - it's our defense/Evero somehow holding opposing teams to like 16 points or less or random games where Rico runs for like 200 yards. At the end of the day, Bryce and DC should both be gone after this year. Sadly, neither will probably happen. I still want to see 1 game where DC calls nothing but deep shots 3/4 of the game so I can at least figure out if Bryce is good at throwing deep balls or if the 1 time we call it per game surprises opponents.

I'm mad that cost us the game, but that is 100% not allowed... My biggest complaint is the Saints did the exact same thing to Bryce earlier in the quarter and the refs literally looked at Bryce and then turned the other way and gave no fugs... Truly.. if there is any other fan base that didn't recognize the refs hate us, just show the game film from the last three games we played....

Mostly agree with you. My problem is the 15+ play drives we gave up on D the first 3 Q of the game (which isn't good). Then 4th Q decide to just run cover 3 drop and give up every open 10 yards pass possible on the game tying drive... -

I thought we would be a 6-11 team (probably will end up being 1 win off). My problem isn't necessarily losing games like this (especially division games on the road). It's more that we look completely unprepared in like 90% of the games we have played this year... -

Going for it instead of leading by two scores in the 4th
PleaseCutStewart replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
No problem going for it... Big problem running whatever ass inside dive we did when everyone knew the saints were run blitzing middle there... Seriously, call a toss, QB naked bootleg, read option pass, etc. literally anything besides what we called... -
Yeah, we so badly chose the wrong Bucs OC... Only good news is that with the bucs winning the division, they will keep Bowles most likely

Id argue they aren't far from the talent we have. Outside of oline, they may have better talent at just about every other position -

Honestly a fair debate. They have had arguably a top 10 D the entire year. Rattlesnake was just that bad Extra: In response to the guy you responded to -

Panthers MO since 1995... -
Let's keep in mind we have gone through like 5 RGs this year. I agree Bryce did a good job with avoiding sacks this game, but a lot of the pressure was designed roll outs where the saints brought extra pressure to the rollout side. Much like last game against NO, I think play calling was one of the biggest reasons we lost the game

Sucks we lost, but the saints have been competitive in a fair amount of their losses to teams better than us. Most annoying part of this game is we were up 10 then went prevent offense and defense...
