Won't argue against you there. The positive is that the extension isn't a killer and I don't think he hits his absolute bottom until the extension ends. As banged up as his knee is, he is still one of our healthier olinemen right now...
-
Honestly not convinced moton is playing healthy and we are so thin at oline and are making him play through it. Pretty much our entire oline didn't look good that game, outside of maybe Lewis. One of the few games where I would say our oline was the biggest weakness on offense

Arguably the biggest defense Bryce-stans have. DC is doing him no favors calling the same 4ish concept type of pass plays - playaction dumpoff to TE, X receiver comeback route, empty backfield 5 yard curls for all receivers, and slot deep in. Bryce is already a liability. The same stale pass plays most weeks doesn't help also. When we deviate from those stale plays, we get Rams type of games where the Rams sell out on short passes and we beat them deep. I just want a 4 game stretch where we call like 5-10 deep passes a game and see how Bryce does. If he stinks it up, then DC has his evidence of why Bryce isn't the answer. We literally aren't even giving Bryce a chance with these play calls, and this is coming from a guy that wanted CJ with our pick badly

Damn, that will be an easy win for the Bucs now unless they turn it over a ton of times. Ewers was a crap QB at Texas with first round talent all around him....
-
My god, he sounds dumber and dumber with each passing week. If this is truly something he believes (that a lightweight QB can't get 3 inches on a 4th down sneak), then why the hell haven't you signed a QB that we can bring in to sneak the ball in these situations... Or you know... If you aren't going to sneak it on 4th and very short, how about not calling a dive play up the middle when you know NO is going to blitz everybody possible up the middle

Pretty sure any ounce of optimism we have is quickly extinguished when you get swept by a talent depleted Saints team...

Chink in Jaycee Horns armor/Achilles heel
PleaseCutStewart replied to micnificent28's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm pretty sure any corner that is thrown on an island against a 4.3 elite speed receiver will struggle. And it's hard to say who is responsible for what when we run zone what feels like 90% of the game. -
About as bad as last year. Wins over the Jets, Dolphins, and Falcons twice are unimpressive wins, beating a Cowboys team that was pretty banged up was an ok win, then we managed to surprise 2 teams that figured they could just win by showing up. Outside of the falcons week 3 win (where Penix was unspeakably bad) and the Jets win, all of our other wins have come by 3 points... Meanwhile, we have lost games by 16, 5, 29, 31, 10, 11, and 3.... If like 5 plays this season had gone differently, we are a 2 win team. We have had last year's Chiefs type luck in 1-score games and still won't finish above .500. When we regress to the mean next year with 1 score games, we will likely be back to 4-5 wins

If you can only fire ONE person before 2026....

I say we do 1 better and make him the blocking dummy the rest of the season... -

I'll go other and hope Tepper fires himself into the sun... Edit: Just saw your top post, I will go DC then. We all know we will move on from Bryce, but even if we had the best offensive talent in the league, DC would still manage to call ass plays and have us averaging like 17 points a game -
Did We Have an Intentional Vanilla Gameplan?
PleaseCutStewart replied to Carolina Cajun's topic in Carolina Panthers
Our gameplan was do the exact thing we did against the Saints the first time when we lost and the result was we lost to the Saints again... -
Icky didn't do well on the play, but I find it hard to believe Bryce doesn't at least sense that pressure from Chase Young in his periphery. With the area of the field he is looking + Moton blocking his guy and forcing him into a deep pass rush, I don't know how Bryce doesn't see the 20 yards of open space directly in front of him.... Like 90% of QBs recognize that open space and immediately run
-
Most likely he will be gone. Another team that has more talent on defense will definitely hire him. I get frustrated at a lot of Evero's playcalls also, but let's remember that we are rocking JAGs at like half the spots on our defense. The likes of Wharton, LaBryan Ray, Whitney Houston's ex-husband, whatever turd of the week ILB we have, etc. aren't going to be found on the rosters of the NFL defenses that people think are good... When you refuse to draft defensive players in the first 2 rounds for practically 5 years straight while spending most of your free agent money on offense, this is the talent you are stuck with on defense

7 Wins And STILL Gonna Finish Last in the Division
PleaseCutStewart replied to Joe Bear's topic in Carolina Panthers
Depends on what 4th place teams you get. Having teams like the Vikings and Bengals be the 4th place teams you have to play isn't much better than the 2nd place alternatives IMO. Teams improve/get worse year-to-year, so I don't think schedule strength is that big of a deal, especially when injuries like Mahomes tearing his ACL happens. Chiefs will be a 4 win team next year if Mahomes doesn't play in 2026 -
7 Wins And STILL Gonna Finish Last in the Division
PleaseCutStewart replied to Joe Bear's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'd be thrilled if we somehow finish last in the division - means we get a better draft pick since we aren't making the playoffs -
Evero has his weaknesses, but it's hard to tell how much of it is him when we have a comically bad pass rush. Crazy enough, this is probably the most I have seen him blitz this year and I think it failed every single time. Usually our only chance at a sack is if DB beats the double team and gets interior pressure. Otherwise, the QB will have at least 5 seconds to throw the ball
