Just sad we go out with such a whimper... Defense and tendies did their job. Offense just flat out sucks + Bob isn't giving up any softies like the Devils/Islanders goalies did

That and we have that 5-10 minute shitshow effort that has pretty much resulted in every Florida goal. That game 1 going 4 Ots then losing was the death of us. Wish we had just lost in OT 1 instead

And think we just need to acknowledge that the hockey gods are not on our side. I don't think we are playing bad, we just can't put the puck in the net

Aho has been pretty good in the series. He is working with a line of Jarvis (2nd-3rd liner at his current level) and a 4th liner. That's pretty much like putting McJesus with 2 scrubs and being surprised if McJesus struggled to do anything. Necas I agree with. He has kind of reverted back to his last year's self of being to tentative when he should be firing the puck on net

Hard to win when you are averaging like 1 goal a game in the series. Just no finishers on this team with the injuries we have outside of Aho (and even he is more of a playmaker than scorer)

Might be one of the worst PPs I've seen in the playoffs that didn't result in a shorty

The problem is in games 1 and 2 we had that 5-10 minute stretch where we just played god awful hockey. And those are the reasons we have let Florida score most of their goals in game 1 and 2

He looked like he got hurt at some point in game 1, although it looked more shoulder or somewhere upper body

Jarvis would have been with the aho line. He and Aho play well together. Maybe necas as 2c with patches while kk goes down to 4th c. Yeah, injuries suck but they happen. The foolish thing was not trying to improve our team at the trade deadline. This is what we deserve for having a cheap ass owner/gm. It sucks because we are bordering on the Carolina Panthers level of play before our super bowl. Good enough to keep making the playoffs, but not good enough to win it

I think there was one point in game one where he grimaced and looked like he was in pain. I'm curious if that possible injury is the reason why

Jarvis is debatable (he has had a great series so far). Necas was pretty much a fourth liner until this year (I hope he can keep it up). And turbo is a good playmaker and solid defender, but he's not a goal scorer. Skjei and pesce are solid, but both are pretty awful with the puck. They badly struggle against forechecks. Chatfield is solid, but again also struggles with forechecks. I'll put it this way, I think if those players you mentioned above were on different teams, I think their stats would be much worse. I think they do well in our system and that helps them to look better than they actually are.

This right here Our first two series win speaks louder about how terrible the Islanders and devils are than anything else. Yes, injuries definitely derailed us - but we still needed another scorer or two at the deadline

Are we though?? Outside of svech, aho, slavin, and maybe burns and patches, we are pretty much skating 3rd liner or worse type talent. We just have to be realistic - our system is great and makes us look a lot better than we actually are.

Props to Freddie for giving us a chance. Florida was the far superior team from the beginning of overtime 2 to the end. I can't tell if it's they are that well conditioned or if we just aren't

Hopefully we get some of our ahlers up for game 2. Sit stastny and stepan and get some fresh legs
