  1. IMO, if he had been taking the test as much as he has and bombed it, that would be more alarming than the reward of doing well on it. Repeated exposure on most things should always lead to increased scores/values. To your question - if he looked great on tape and scored terrible on the s2, I wouldn't put much consideration into the s2. Most of these cognitive/intelligence tests sports use just don't really align with the actual sport IMO. I do think the s2 has way more usefulness than the Wonderlic, but there are way too many variables on the football field for any type of cognitive test to factor in. The s2 should be low on the importance scale and I would hope that a poor score on the s2 would be obvious on tape, because the assumption would be that they are not making smart throws.
  2. I think it's less of a knock on Bryce and more of a we shouldn't put a ton of value into this 1 random test because we can name like 5 elite QBs who scored well on it without mentioning all of the QBs who have ever taken the test and their scores on it.
  3. I'm still not 100% sure what tests are part of the s2, but I would imagine reaction time is a pretty big component. And you can absolutely improve your reaction time through cognitive training exercises.
  4. Also a great point. And I like how they use Josh Allen as an example of a really high score when I think his judgment is pretty awful. He throws into double coverage/low percentage windows a lot IMO and gets away with it because of his great athleticism and super strong arm.
  5. I think there has to be some pretty serious consideration that doing it many times is definitely advantageous to never doing it. I'm not sure how often CJ has taken it (or whether it was his first time). I'm trying to think of something to compare it to and the Stroop Effect came to mind. I think it is a lot easier for somebody to score higher on it once they are used to reading the colored font of the word after doing it a few times, as opposed to somebody that has never taken it. I'd be curious if they had each QB do it three times a day over a set limit of time, such as a 1 week span, and see how scores fluctuate. If all the QBs scored statistically significantly higher on the latter tests, then I think that would give us a good answer as to how repeated exposure to the test impacts performance.
  6. I still think his game against Utah in the bowl game 2 seasons ago was the best I have seen any QB from this class look in a game. Yes, I know he had elite WRs, but the dude threw relatively difficult routes (comebacks, long outs, flag routes) with pinpoint accuracy. And that was with Ohio St. having no run game and no defense in that game. I think both Stroud and Young will be great. I am still worried about durability for Young, especially if we try to make him scramble a lot like Hurts.
  7. Very good point also. Also, is it the same exact test for QBs and skill position players. Not really sure I understand the significance of the S2 test for skill position players. Maybe the skill position players are better at recognizing where people will be at in zone coverages?
  8. Also, can't wait for Houston to offer us pick 2, 12, and next year's first for the number one pick /s
  9. While that score is very impressive, hasn't he taken it a ton of times before (If I remember hearing that correctly)? If that is the case, I think that would help lead to getting a higher score since you know what to expect, as opposed to taking it for the first time.
  10. I haven't checked the lines since this morning, but I can buy it. I do think we either take Young #1 or trade him to Houston and they take him #1 (even though I would prefer Stroud)
  11. Ok. My point is that it went from like Young +225 -> Young -110 to -130, which means that sportsbooks are starting to think that it is a coinflip to Young being slightly favored to go #1
  12. I'm glad the Texans are convinced we don't take Young when Young is now the betting favorite to go #1... I still think we can get a 2nd rounder from the Texans to go back to #2 if we like both QBs about the same
  13. Dear god, we gave him a 3 year deal? It better be like 3 years, 15 mill tops
  14. That's what I said last year in the playoffs and don't think he got enough credit for the games we won in the playoffs last year. And pretty much like y'all said, he'll give up one wtf a goal a game.
  15. I'd take Musgrove over him, but Washington would be a good TE for the red zone. He can pretty much serve as a 6th lineman while also being a threat on playaction. Not sure I would want to use pick 39 on him. If we trade back to like 50 or so, then maybe.
  16. Seeing as how we trade raped the bears when we got Greg Olsen, it only seems fair that we let them trade rape us for the number one pick... If this QB isn't mahomes level good, we can add another few years to our rebuild...
  17. It was Rod's way of just mindfuging them. Honestly, Montreal is the team I hate most from Canada, so glad we beat them in pretty hilarious fashion
  18. Love it. We got KK from the Canadiens and then he sends their fans home sad after an absolute snipe on the SO winner
  19. This. The Ravens have been about as stable and good of a franchise as I can think of the past 2 decades. If they don't want him, then that should be telling to every other NFL team
  20. Damn, Pytor is a badass. Dude was ready to fight their captain
  21. Wait... People actually talk about the Hornets other than "They suck"
  22. It's easy, our front office was all in on getting timo. When we didn't, they just lied out of their ass saying they were still going to try to add people. Instead, we add 2 turds that nobody wanted and still gave up too much for them...
