A Tankathon Approach to the remaining Schedule

Man.. winning that Cardinals game really screwed us. We would be picking number two in the draft right now if we didn't have that worthless win -
A Tankathon Approach to the remaining Schedule

Glad to see one of my favorite players at FSU last year is making a great play -
OFFICIAL Panthers vs Buccaneers Game Day Thread
PleaseCutStewart replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
That's where you start telling our garbage players that will be cut after this year that they can earn a Christmas bonus if they gun for their knees... Teach Tampa a lesson about running the score up -
I still think CJ is better, but Houston might very well David Carr him. That oline is horrendous and with all of the wide receiver injuries they have had this year, receivers aren't getting open quick enough. I still remember watching that Titans game they lost a few weeks ago and was amazed at the amount of defensive lineman that came free on basic 4 man rushes. I think Tennessee had something like 10 sacks that game

That's crazy he only has 1 passing TD in his last 5 games

Mcshay Unsure T-mac is a wr 1 or X..
PleaseCutStewart replied to micnificent28's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don't know why, but this guy gives me Dwayne Jarrett vibes. He's tall and has a large catch radius, but doesn't seem to have the speed that will be able to separate against NFL DBs. I don't think he has the top end speed to make DBs worry about getting beat deep and corners are going to start pressing him and take away the short routes. -

I personally would not draft him unless we somehow trade back and are drafting in the 20s - I don't think he is anything close to top 10 talent. With how terrible we are on defense and some of the great players there are, we have to get one of them (or trade back) -
Has this game changed feelings about Young?
PleaseCutStewart replied to Jmac's topic in Carolina Panthers
I've been a big Bryce basher, but no. He looked good the previous few weeks against good defenses and had a stinker today (along with pretty much every other Panther on the field). Oline 100% failed him today (probably the first game I can say that this year) and it wasn't due to his taking 10 step dropbacks like he did last year. Now we get to see if he has the mental toughness to move on and play better the rest of the season (but still hopefully lose so we can get a top 4 pick) -
Prime Cam Newton vs Current Josh Allen

Can't forget how dominant our defense was that year also -
Prime Cam Newton vs Current Josh Allen

And add on retarded Mike Shula asking Remmers to block Von Miller 1-on-1 the entire game... Easily one of the worst called offenses I have ever seen in a Superbowl by an OC -
Prime Cam Newton vs Current Josh Allen
PleaseCutStewart replied to Panther8989's topic in Carolina Panthers
Hard to say because Buffalo has had a much better oline and, prior to this year, much better WRs. All I can say is that it was a crime with how little talent we gave Cam on offense after year 1. He had Olsen and a couple years of CMC and that is it... all while having a somewhat good oline for 1, maybe 2, years. That being said, Josh Allen seems like a good dude and hope he does well. I can get behind Buffalo winning a Superbowl, especially since they have taken so much of our sloppy seconds the past 5ish years -
Scott Fowler on game, Young, Panthers. Not wrong
PleaseCutStewart replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Can we just not trot a defense out on the field the last 3 weeks? Let's see what Bryce can do while making sure we lose our last 3 games -
I got to be honest.. it's pretty satisfying watching the bears be an absolute train wreck after we gifted them one of the most lopsided trades of this century. And they 100% deserve it for the amount of their fans that trolled us after that trade

Easy question to answer - our identity is being the doormat for every other team in the NFL
-
Honestly, our goal for next year needs to be improving other positions and then see what we get from Bryce next year. If he isn't at the very least an above average QB, we draft a QB next year.

Did they give up on Yetor Gross-Metos to soon?
PleaseCutStewart replied to Jmac's topic in Carolina Panthers
He's a decent set the edge run defender that can't do anything else. Do I miss him because he is probably better than our current edge run defenders? I guess -
I'm not either. Definitely nowhere near the talent of Harrison or Nabers from last year's draft. I don't think any WR should go in the top 10

Has your return to playoffs timeline been adjusted?
PleaseCutStewart replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Probably not because it will take a while to build a competent D. Outside of Horn and DB (who of course got hurt week 1...), we are pretty much trotting out practice squad players at every other position. While Jackson has been solid at DB 2 and maybe Shaq can stay healthy and be decent (if he isn't cut), we have to easily have the worst front 7 in the NFL (and possible the worst front 7 in Panthers history). Even if we go D heavy in the draft, we likely still aren't going to be good on D for a few years. -
Honestly, benching him earlier in the year was the best thing that could have happened to him. I think he has just experienced success all through his life and got comfortable thinking that even if he plays like ass, he will still be the starting QB. After getting benched, I think that was the wakeup call he needed that he can't half ass it and make it in this league. Glad he has made me eat crow the past few weeks and hopefully he keeps getting better and better.

Bryce Young: The NFL's Most Aggressive Quarterback in 2024?

Maybe, but it's not like mahomes has been that great this year and the Chiefs wideouts are nothing spectacular -

I'm going to guess the person betting 3.1 mill on a ML like that probably considers that the same as poor people consider a penny ... -
https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/42817197/bettor-backs-eagles-31-million-wager-beat-panthers Apparently some dude bet $3.1 million on the Eagles moneyline at -700 ods (will win about 400k). Be prepared for some shenanigans

Mid week discussion: via Trevor Lawrence hit.
PleaseCutStewart replied to Jackson113.2's topic in Carolina Panthers
The week prior, he had an egregious hit on a player in their back way out of bounds (like a full 2 seconds after stepping out of bounds). Let's call a spade a spade - the dude is a dirty player and is becoming the next Burfict in a hurry -

Instead of suspending, let's take an eye for an eye approach. Let every player on the Texans do helmet - helmet hits while he is tied down. I guarantee you that fixes the dirty hit problem quickly
