I've pretty much been the same, except I'm to the point I have tuned out of more Panthers games than I would like to admit. Honestly, it took me too long to just not invest time into sports, unless they happen to be on in the background of a bar/restaurant when I'm with friends. How much happier I have been since doing this is amazing, outside of watching the Hurricanes lose to Florida

That would free up some roster spots - no longer need a punter, kicker, or long snapper

Lol. Nah, if it were Boston I would say put a bounty on Marchand. Outside of Bennett being a prick (wouldn't mind hitting him hard into the boards), I have no qualms with Florida.

It's definitely better than MLB, but I feel like it drags on too much when there are random stretches of 3 games in 4 nights then weird 4 day layoffs between games. You also just can't beat playoff hockey. Even though it sucked losing the 4 OT game, you just don't get that level of buttclench in any other sport.

I love the Canes, but the regular season definitely is too slow for me and I am not as tuned in. I am hoping we make some good additions in the offseason and can actually stay healthy in the playoffs for a change next year.

Yeah, I'm not hating on Florida. If they were Boston throwing cheap shots hurting our best player, different story. While they have been physical, I don't think they've crossed the line and have benefited from retarded refs. If they win, awesome. If they lose, couldn't care less. While this team isn't a trainwreck like every other Carolina franchise, they still aren't talented enough to win a Stanley Cup and it's annoying because we have a cheap ass owner/GM that doesn't want to spend any money. The Devils series gave me false hope - I now realize they were just not very good/did not matchup well against us. Sucks because with a few bounces our way, we could be up 2-1 in the series. But that is how hockey goes I guess.

Somebody gets it. And we couldn't score that well even with Svech. Our offense relies on our forecheck causing turnovers and getting breakaways or odd man rushes. When we don't, this is what happens. We just have no pure scorers and very few playmakers. Pretty much just a bunch of grinders

This. Whether you lose 4-0 or 4-3, it's a forgotten footnote in playoff history. I hope we get swept so that is lost revenue for the NHL and it's sponsors/tv stations. I hope Vegas sweeps Dallas and then I could care less who wins the Stanley Cup but I hope it ends in a sweep also.

Yep. Watching how terrible we looked in OT I realized that Florida has way better stamina. Now we are stuck having to play more tired than them game 2 and we lost that also. Give Florida credit - the few chances they have had to score they have cashed in on. We either shoot it at Bob's stomach or hit the post

That and we have that 5-10 minute shitshow effort that has pretty much resulted in every Florida goal. That game 1 going 4 Ots then losing was the death of us. Wish we had just lost in OT 1 instead

Aho has been pretty good in the series. He is working with a line of Jarvis (2nd-3rd liner at his current level) and a 4th liner. That's pretty much like putting McJesus with 2 scrubs and being surprised if McJesus struggled to do anything. Necas I agree with. He has kind of reverted back to his last year's self of being to tentative when he should be firing the puck on net

Hard to win when you are averaging like 1 goal a game in the series. Just no finishers on this team with the injuries we have outside of Aho (and even he is more of a playmaker than scorer)

The problem is in games 1 and 2 we had that 5-10 minute stretch where we just played god awful hockey. And those are the reasons we have let Florida score most of their goals in game 1 and 2

Jarvis would have been with the aho line. He and Aho play well together. Maybe necas as 2c with patches while kk goes down to 4th c. Yeah, injuries suck but they happen. The foolish thing was not trying to improve our team at the trade deadline. This is what we deserve for having a cheap ass owner/gm. It sucks because we are bordering on the Carolina Panthers level of play before our super bowl. Good enough to keep making the playoffs, but not good enough to win it

Jarvis is debatable (he has had a great series so far). Necas was pretty much a fourth liner until this year (I hope he can keep it up). And turbo is a good playmaker and solid defender, but he's not a goal scorer. Skjei and pesce are solid, but both are pretty awful with the puck. They badly struggle against forechecks. Chatfield is solid, but again also struggles with forechecks. I'll put it this way, I think if those players you mentioned above were on different teams, I think their stats would be much worse. I think they do well in our system and that helps them to look better than they actually are.
