That's fine if raanta struggles early on. The thing we absolutely cannot afford is Pyotr getting some type of common injury (i.e. muscle strain or groin injury) because we are afraid of playing raanta and putting Pyotr in a spot he isn't used to (starting the second game of a b2b)

2023-2024 General Canes Thread
PleaseCutStewart replied to Panthers Fan 69's topic in Carolina Hurricanes
Yeah, there is pretty much no point in trading him because nobody wants him. I agree - might as well keep him in case one of our defensemen get injured -
Can't play Pyotr every games unless you want to completely wear him out... We just need to execute on offense and defense and not put Raanta in a position where he needs to stand on his head or face a lot of odd man breaks

It is very easy to make up what happened when you are telling your side of the story... Still doesn't excuse the dumb poo Tepper did, but I wouldn't be surprised if this guy heckled Tepper in some way. But clearly Tepper has the mental toughness of a 5-year-old based on his response...

This is the upward trajectory of Bryce's NFL career

I think it's this and the fact that they are actually getting people in front of the net. I don't know how many times last year (especially the playoffs) I would see us have a PP and literally nobody standing in front of the net. We need that person there to screen the goalie for our snipers.

Official boycott next week’s game

I love this idea -
As much as I like penix, his o line has been unreal good for him this year. I'm curious to see how he does under pressure. Not to knock on him, because I like him more than Bryce pre-draft last year, but I have some similar worries for him that I did Bryce

poo on Jeff Otah all we want, but the dude was a dominant run blocker for us at RT for his prime. As fans, we need to realize we are pretty much running the complete opposite scheme that we did last year and are asking a dominant run blocking tackle to be a finesse, West Coast pass blocking tackle... In no way is it Ickys fault this scheme sucks for him... We either have to go to a more run focused, play action playbook on offense (this would immensely help Bryce in my opinion also) or force icky to play guard/trade him. It's honestly that simple

Win total next year as we sit on NYE

We could honestly play both divisions of the ACC and struggle to have a winning record... That is literally how bad we are -

What if he threw his beer at a black person (or any minority for that matter). Would that constitute racism? -

Such a weird reaction by Tepper. Did the fan say something to him (if so, awesome - hopefully he called him a cuck like the rest of us would)? If not, just weird to do what he did. Regardless, punish the hell out of him NFL and force him to sell the team. -
Icky never had a chance to succeed at LT in this system. He is a power run blocker being asked to be a finesse pass blocker. One of 2 things need to happen - 1) ditch the system for a more run balanced, play action system; 2) move Icky to guard.

Honestly, I am glad DJ Moore is enjoying having a halfway competent QB that can actually remotely throw a deep ball throwing to him. I miss him, but he deserves better than this dumpster franchise (as did CMC). Honestly, Brown and Luvu deserve to play for a better team also.

Win total next year as we sit on NYE

Since we actually have our first round draft pick in 2025, I am sure we will dick around and accidentally win 5 or 6 games and end up picking 8th or 9th again... It's the Panthers way -
David Tepper appears to throw a drink at a jaguars fan
PleaseCutStewart replied to philw5289's topic in Carolina Panthers
Any chance the NFL sees this as worse as Jerry Richardson's shenanigans? Crossing my fingers and praying they blackball Tepper from the NFL now -
And sadly, I think that is a higher number than the current fans we still have.... But yeah, I want Russell Wilson nowhere near Carolina

Payton does like his basic white midget QBs to make him look good

Always trust in pyotr the great!!! But seriously, I am happy to see him do well! He has always had the stuff to be an elite goalie and hopefully this is the start of that

PFF: Bryce Young 5th-best QB over last two weeks
PleaseCutStewart replied to TN05's topic in Carolina Panthers
Glad to see that Bryce played well against Green Bay, but let's not forget that our ex trash QB Baker Mayfield had the game of his life against them not too long ago... I want him to succeed, but need to see more from him -
We are in the first year of running a true 3-4 and our defense has done pretty damn well, despite not having the right pieces at several positions. Get a nose tackle, another ILB (possibly two if we cut shaq), and one or two edge rushers depending on whether we resign burns or not and our D will be very good. Top priority has to be a nose tackle though - you look at all the great 3-4 defenses that have existed and you will find the common theme was they all had a very good run stopping, blocker eating nose tackle to clear the way for the linebackers

Let's be honest... Even if they do get caught red-handed, things won't change -
SB50 Levels of Bad Officiating
PleaseCutStewart replied to SteveSmithTD89's topic in Carolina Panthers
The NFL got exactly what they wanted - The Panthers covered the spread which made Vegas a lot of money and the Packers won which made a lot of bandwagon fans happy. If we want refs to start calling plays in our favor, then we need to not be a poverty franchise -
Should we seriously consider Evero for head coach?
PleaseCutStewart replied to PleaseCutStewart's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don't think anybody here is arguing that our defense is elite talent wise. What we are arguing is that Evero is somehow making a bottom 10 (possibly bottom 5) talent defense look pretty damn good. You put Luke, TD, Shaq, prime Norman, and all of the great pass rushers we had on this defense and I'm sure Evero would have them playing as good, if not better, than our best D years of the mid-late 2010s
