NFL and NFLPA release Tua findings
Bama Panther replied to SmokinwithWilly's topic in Carolina Panthers
The NFL and the Dolphins did not police themselves here. The NFLPA (again, the players’ union, was involved in the investigation, and the findings that they signed off on include the fact that the protocol was actually followed. The NFLPA would not let this be covered up if something were amiss. If they believed something were covered up, they’d exploit it as much as they could to get more for the players they represent. -
NFL and NFLPA release Tua findings
Bama Panther replied to SmokinwithWilly's topic in Carolina Panthers
The NFLPA, the organization whose sole purpose is to advocate for the players, participated in this investigation. If the team and NFL really screwed this one up, the NFLPA would say so. -
If only there had been a young GM in the making waiting for his shot around the time Richardson fired Gettleman.
-
They're not supposed to be done for the rest of the game. They are supposed to be checked, through a series of tests, for a concussion. The Dolphins supposedly did that with Tua last week, and he cleared the checks. Those checks also include an NFL neurologist unaffiliated with the team.
-
You stated earlier that his head was whiplashed into the truck tonight. That alone could cause a head injury and reaction we all saw. However, everyone is acting like this could not have happened without a prior concussion. I don’t believe that to be the case. No one but those inside the organization and the NFL’s neurologist know what happened with Tua last week. As a boxing/MMA fan, I’m sure you’ve seen a guy get his bell rung with wobbly legs come back to win a fight and be completely cognizant in post fight interviews. I don’t buy the back injury piece, but I’m not aware of any scientific articles saying every hit to the head, even a hard hit, causes a concussion. The NFLPA requested an investigation into the handling of Tua. I’ll just wait until those findings come out to make statements asserting that the Dolphins covered something up.
-
Yet everyone here is acting like they understand exactly what happened with Tua, the Dolphins, and the protocol during and after last week’s game.

I’ll tell you something I do trust. I trust Huddlers to bitch about the next coaching hire, no matter who it is.

I believed in Baker. But I was wrong. Also, the OL sucks ass.

Concur on Baker. He is an absolute spaz as a QB. No calming presence whatsoever. -
Matt Rhule has still not learned how to win close games.
Bama Panther replied to Snake's topic in Carolina Panthers
One of the biggest complaints against Rhule has been the lack of halftime adjustments, was it not? Another was the way games wherein the Panthers fell behind often turned into wide margin losses, right? Both of those things changed in this game. While you are correct it is still a loss, it shows a progression from this staff that can bode well for the team going forward. -
That is on the coaching, but it is also on the coaching that the team came back from that to take the lead.
-
Of course, they coached the team back from 14-0 and 20-7 deficits today to a place at which they had the lead with a minute to go.

Matt Rhule has still not learned how to win close games.
Bama Panther replied to Snake's topic in Carolina Panthers
How exactly would you propose going for the TD there? Passing? If they called a pass play and Baker threw an INT, this whole board would be bitching about Rhule not going for the easy points and lead. Rhule haters are always going to find something to bitch about. It has turned this board into a miserable place full of insufferable blowhards. This team looked like absolute poo for a quarter and a half, yet it took the lead in a game in which they were down 14-0 and then 20-7. That’s something teams from the last two years never would have done. This team did, on defense, what should have been enough to win on the last drive. The fact remains that but for the refs poo calls on that drive, the Panthers are 1-0 right now. -
Matt Rhule has still not learned how to win close games.
Bama Panther replied to Snake's topic in Carolina Panthers
You can’t blame one loss on a previous two year history when that one loss showed things that weren’t shown during those two years, like halftime adjustments and a team that didn’t roll over and quit when the teams from the past two years would have. -
Matt Rhule has still not learned how to win close games.
Bama Panther replied to Snake's topic in Carolina Panthers
The only thing not running in that situation would have done is leave Cleveland with timeouts to use as they drove further down the field for a much easier game winning FG attempt. Your all’s unwillingness to admit that the Panthers would have won with this strategy but for the two missed calls shows you just want to blame Rhule for everything. -
Games won this season will be in spite of the coaching staff
Bama Panther replied to Knaakedup's topic in Carolina Panthers
WTF do you all actually want? Last season, the team opened the season (and a few games) doing good things only to collapse in the second half of season and the games. All off-season you all bitched about “No adjustments. No adjustments.” This coaching staff and team made adjustments in the second half today, and but for two obviously blown calls by the refs, the Panthers are 1-0 right now. Most of the fans here will never be happy. Y’all just want to bitch and moan from your Lazy Boy hoping this team fails so you can be right about Rhule. -
The average huddler gets paid absolutely nothing to have anything to do with football whatsoever.

Neither does the Huddle.

Official Panthers at Patriots Gameday Thread!
Bama Panther replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
The Huddle is full of some miserable, overreacting fugs. I’m sure you all must be joys to be around in real life. This board is becoming insufferable. -
Texans 2nd Round rookie diagnosed with leukemia
Bama Panther replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
As a Bama fan, I hate to see this for Metchie. He seemed to be such a good guy at Bama. I wish him a full and speedy recovery from this. -
This is a bit of a lazy comparisons, but I’ll lay it out there. Draft prospects are always graded against previous year’s draft prospects (“If this #1 ranked guy had come out last year, he’d be the #4 ranked whatever.”, “There are only 17 guys with a first round grade this year, but last year’s draft had 26 guys with a first round grade.”, etc.). Sometimes, they are even graded against future prospects Yet with free agency, team’s re-set the market each year on positions like QB, regardless of where the new “biggest contract” player fits into the overall discussion. There is simply no way Murray is worth the same amount of money as Rodgers and Mahomes, even with the yearly increase in contracts.

I grew up an ‘80s kid. Top Gun is one of my all-time favorite movies. I looked forward to this sequel from the time it was announced. The COVID delays increased the hype for me. I have several great friends who are F-15 and F-16 pilots. On Opening Night, their squadron rented out an entire theater for a private showing. My boys and I got three of the extra tickets they had. It was a great experience to watch the movie with a bunch of people who actually do what Tom Cruise and his co-stars did in the movie. Overall, I thought the movie was really good and fantastic entertainment. There is nostalgia from the first movie, but I don’t feel like they overdid it. The relationship between Iceman and Maverick was great to see. I plan to see it again while I’m without my family during an upcoming training. As a JAG, I also robbed my buddies a bit by telling them, “We all know the better Tom Cruise sequel is still in the works. Everyone is waiting with baited breathe for ‘A Few More Good Men.’”

I didn't watch WandaVision, so I missed that aspect of it. Regardless, I thought the storyline was a bit lazy as well. Visually, it was very entertaining. Despite the lazy Wanda storyline, I enjoyed it.
-
Anybody see this one yet? I took my sons to watch it yesterday. Some plot holes. A bit of lazy storytelling. Pretty entertaining though.

We own a house down in the Springs. Our home is in roughly the same position. A house on our street with a lesser floor plan and less upgrades just closed at 600k after being on the market for 550k for two days. That is also in the range of almost 2x what we paid as well. We are currently weighing the options of selling versus continuing to hold it as a rental property until we retire from the Air Force.
