  1. My take: 1. Michigan 2. Washington 3. FSU 4. Texas 5. Bama 6. Georgia 7. OSU 8. Oregon SEC misses out in the final year of the four team playoff.
  2. I’d love to see Bama reestablish the run game on this drive. It would be nice to grind 5-plus minutes off the clock and get some more points on the board.
  3. In that scenario, I think Bama and Georgia have to be out. While I’d hate it as a Bama grad, it would be the right thing to do.
  4. Milroe is off on many of his throws today. He’s grown a ton as a QB this season. I hope that growth comes through over this last quarter.
  5. I get what you’re saying, and I hope that is how it would happen. However, Texas looked absolutely dominant today. Despite their opponent being ranked at #18, I think that game immensely improved their chances of getting in.
  6. I think Bama would get left out if they win a close SECCG and FSU wins the ACC. Just don’t think the committee would deny a big name like Texas.
  7. I think Bama winning the SECCG would be the committee’s worst nightmare. Georgia has been so good for so long, how do you keep them out if they lose a close one? But how do you keep Texas out if Bama is in, given Texas’ big win in Tuscaloosa? The committee does not want to make that decision.
  8. That’s my hope. First, Bama needs to beat Georgia, which is a tall task.
  9. Even as a Bama alum, I believe if FSU and Bama both win, Bama gets left out. The last few weeks of Texas’ season left me some hope that Bama could get over the Longhorns based on recent play. Today’s game, however, removed that hope, as Texas destroyed Okie St.
  10. I think people just want something to bitch about. All you hear today is “the dysfunction of the Panthers” due to the third head coach firing since Tepper bought the team. Should Rivers’s firing be counted towards the dysfunction when everyone wanted Rivera fired even before he was? Should the Rhule hiring be counted towards the dysfunction when he was one of the hot names on the coaching carousel that year? Should Rhule’s firing count when everyone wanted him fired the off-season before he was fired? Does Reich’s firing now mean dysfunction when, again, people have been clamoring for it for weeks? What’s the point of keeping Reich around if a firing is inevitable? Why not rip off the band-aid and start the recovery process? This fan base, and especially this board, just want something to bitch about. The great thing for them is they get to bitch with hindsight.
  11. This thread is such ass. A bunch of people who have been clamoring for Reich to be fired pissed off at Tepper because Reich was fired.
  12. Crazy poo always happens in Jordan-Hare though. Bad Auburn teams have beaten much better Bama teams many times there.
  13. The Iron Bowl in Jordan-Hare is always crazy, crazy in the sense that a bad Auburn team can hang with a better Bama. If this is the Bama team that shows up for the SECCG, Georgia will roll (they may anyway).
  14. Not even the end of the first quarter in the USC-Oregon game, and I’m already sick of the Fox crew’s knob slobbering “generational talent” comments about Caleb Williams.
  15. I cannot believe players still do this. This one wasn’t even close either. He was at the 2 when he started dropping the ball. UW gets the safety right after though.
  16. As a Bama grad, I like Bryce and want him to succeed. However, I’ll admit I was wrong in wanting him over Stroud, who has completely blown the doors off of expectations for his rookie season. He can be really, really special. I don’t have that same feeling about Bryce anymore.
  17. I’m not a Fitterer fan, but you all do realize he was the GM for only two of the drafts posted at the top of the thread, right? Of course, you do.
  18. Many people make the argument that you need a QB on a rookie deal to be able to field a competitive team. The reason they make this argument is that having a rookie deal for a typically highly compensated position frees up money to spend elsewhere. The same holds true for a DE as well. A DE on a rookie deal frees up money to spend elsewhere. While Burns has value, I don’t personally believe he has $30M+ per year value (and I don’t think five teams trying to trade for him shows he has that value either, as we don’t know what type of contract they would offer him). In the case of arguing Fitterer made a mistake not taking the Rams deal last year, you have to look at the return value. Absent the Bryce trade, it would have been two more players (likely at highly compensated positions) on rookie deals. That trade would have potentially led to three traditionally highly compensated positions on rookie deals with a fifth year option for each. That is too much value to turn down, despite the unknown of who the first round picks would have netted. Another interesting consideration is that one of those firsts could have likely been used in the trade for #1, thereby saving DJ Moore and giving Bryce a #1 WR.
  19. I can’t figure out if the B1G is the only conference that still plays defense or if the B1G offenses just haven’t quite caught up with the rest of country.
  20. I definitely think that should have been reviewed, but it appeared to me that the contact was made in the upper chest with the collision causing the helmet to meet the jaw. I fully acknowledge my Crimson colored glasses may skew my perception there. I thought the drive into the ground was much worse than the initial hit though. I would not be opposed to making that aspect of a sack a reviewable and ejectable penalty.
  21. I felt the same way about Bama-LSU in the first half. Happy to see Bama’s D showing up a bit in the second half.
  22. I’ve never understood the “generational prospect” take on Williams either, but we will live in digital world where everyone feels the need to exaggerate everything.
