    It's a low-energy conservative pick. Doesn't mean he's a bad player by any means and in fact may be great, but we as Carolina fans were also imprinted by the aura and boldness that was the Cam pick in this situation.

    If you're talking pure athletic ability he's up there behind Peppers. If you're talking strictly DEs (no 3-4 OLB guys like Greene) and actual productivity and ability to produce in all areas of the position, it goes Peppers, Johnson/Rucker (basically interchangeable), Hardy, Allen, Burns. Burns is an athletic freak but is one-dimensional, a poor man's Dwight Freeney.

Actually, I know I don’t know" Point being, contrary to how the thread title appears, this is just as speculative as anything anyone could put together.

    Almost like it's perfectly reasonable to think he's an awesome person but still perhaps not one's preferred QB. Disclaimer I always make in these conversations: I have zero preference in this matter and do not follow/could not care less about college football. I'm just here to comment on the obvious.

    Yup. Should have pulled the trigger on the Burns trade, but water under the brdige at this point. Can't say it's a bad thing to have a guy with Burns' talent though and since he's going to be around, perhaps the new staff helps him be more consistent.

    Could also be a move on Young's part to force more interest at the top. Literally anything is possible at this point.

    Folks realize he visited with the Raiders at #7 as well, right? And with the draft being in 10 days, how many other visits did he actually have scheduled? Disclaimer that I add to all of my comments about these QBs: I don't follow college football and have no opinion on any of the QBs. Just looking at it as it is.
