  1. What are you talking about? Cam carried every single offense he was on here in Carolina, but if you want to nitpick 2011 was arguably the best supporting cast he ever had and it was all downhill from there. Cam looked the part from day one and elevated the team around him. Bryce has proven himself to be tough but has shown absolutely zero of Cam's intangibles and he also has inferior physical traits to not only Can, but for the position in general. There is no comparison.
  2. Reich was/is not a good coach but Tepper also deserves every ounce of criticism heading his way. As I've said in many a thread before, it's been obvious mistake after obvious mistake since he took over. Dude needs to completely overhaul his approach to ownership and the football side of things.

    I'm out

24th in yards, 34th in TDs... not quite top 15 material, and his limitations were on display on 2021. Was a bad break for his career though, no question.
  4. We're going to suffer anyway. Might as well take some Vegas money to soften the blow.
  5. I can kind of understand it as they were expecting a ton of pressure of the middle, but the defenders up top hung back and bought time for the inside pursuit to get there. Bottom line though is that a bubble screen is NOT a play to call with the game on the line. It was a bad call that was well defended.

I love me some Cam but his arm is absolutely shot, my man. It's not his fault directly but tha'ts an impotant attribute for a QB to have.
  7. Might've just been a god-awful attempt. Unfortunately, we have no way of actually knowing.
  8. Bryce doesn't have the arm strength to make throws any longer than they absolutely need to be. Another 5+ yards to throws is not ideal.
  9. Re: Horn, Slater was right up there with Parsons, if not having more support due to the state of the OL at the time. If Slater had been taken then Carolina would have bene freed up to take someone like Olave, Kenyon Green, trade down (would have made sense in this draft), etc.
  10. There's more to being the GM than just the situations discussed on the Huddle, but sure seems like some of us would bring a lot of value as high-influence personnel consultants.
  11. That stat they showed were KC has scored the fewest 2nd half points of everyone in the league, 53, was crazy to see. Teams are eating Kelce alive in the 2nd half of games and challenging the other receivers to beat them, and they can't. Reid also still falls back on his tendency to abandon the run game, which is not a great plan this season.
  12. This is a situation where you can see the QB is being let down by his receivers. Mahomes hasn't been quite as bulletproof this season but man, the receivers are absolutely killing them.
  13. No it wasn't. Ball was just gone and Cox barely pushed him.
  14. Don't like that roughing call at all.
  15. That contributes but it's more than that. So many times lineman are just not looking at rushers, being entirely unable to manage stunts, etc. There are major protection scheme and coaching flaws at a fundamental level.
  16. Both things can be, and are, true - Bryce is much worse than Dalton at this point and the offensive scheme is atrocious.
  17. He's not even close to the most hated player. In fact, he's hardly hated at all, in the actual way hate is meant and not the stupid, trite, eyeroll-inducing way 'hated' gets used these days. What he is, however, is collateral damage to a high-profile event that way a legitimate fork, even if small, for the path of the franchise. He also wants big money, and with big money comes big scrutiny. Always been that way, nothing new here, so no, Burns is not unique in this circumstance.
  18. Maybe not by end of season record, but the end-of-season 2021 Panthers was very arguably the worst team in the league for the back stretch; that offense and team in general was incredibly impotent. It could be argued that the team under Rhule before he got fired last year was pretty damn pathetic as well, even if the roster held more potential.
  19. I just don't understand how the OL just looks so inept week in and week out, the same mistakes/errors over and over again. Obviously it's a scheme and coaching issue, but this is the NFL... these guys are supposed to be able to figure this out. They appear to have forgotten/scrapped literally everything that was successful from last year and just keep bashing their heads against the wall trying make this work. It's not going to.
  20. In a vacuum, I like Burns as a player, I really do. He's just not a game-changer and not in the top-tier due to that and the run defense challenges. I took so much heat this summer for this take but he's been exactly this again this season, and it is what it is. If he gets a monster contract somewhere then more power to him, but it doesn't need to be in Carolina. Unfortunately, their boneheaded decisions have cost a lot of compensation in return for any potential Burns departure.
  21. Not only not trading him, declining not just one but TWO golden opportunities to do so, but then not getting a contract done on top of it. This has been an egregious failure and Burns has exercised every bit of leverage the team willingly surrendered to him by turning down that king's ransom from the Rams.
  22. Wilks is a poor strategist - he has proven that many times over the years. Him being better than Rhule was enough to warrant the job
  23. Unfortunately, there is more the being a good coach than just being a leader of men. Sure helps, though.
