Tepper being “incredibly accountable” behind the scenes
KSpan replied to Martin's topic in Carolina Panthers

Declining that trade just threw all of Carolina's leverage out the window. It is still.mind-boggling that it happened that way.

Current Maxx Crosby money IMO, $22-23MM a year. Sweat got $25MM a year w/ $73MM in guarantees and is a much more complete player even if a step down in pure pass rush ability, so I struggle to justify that same amount with Burns, but that seems to be where the market is at. I could see Burns with that total amount but lower guarantees/more incentives. This is what I've been saying all along, but Burns has made it more obvious for eveyone this year now that all eyes have been on him. Good player who can be great at rushing the passer but is subpar vs the run (but has made some incremental improvement this year) and has not been a major liability playing more coverage this season, appears early in games but vanishes late, doesn't change the game or make big plays at opportune times.

He's saying not on Bryce, or at least not released on YT every week for Bryce. Last one appears to be Week 9.

Ah yes another post with zero actual substance tripling down on BS. The last refuge of someone who knows they're wrong. The irony is palpable.
-
So now we're worried about twisting words, eh? Interesting.
-
And what 'multiple improved performances' are you referring to exactly? There were some good things this week but he was abysmal the prior couple.
-
It was prevent/contain, referring to the pass rush, and it's still right there on the film. Y'all just keep misrepresenting what was said though, so don't let that stop you.

REPORT: Ben Johnson wants $15 million per year
KSpan replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Pay it for a quality candidate and GTFO, Tepper. -
It's like Tepper chattering away about point guards, distributing the ball, and spending less on receivers.
-
I mean, he's not wrong. The team won't be picking in the top 10 next year. Lolz.
-
And then he screwed up AGAIN by not trading Burns to the Bears instead of Moore. Not as good a deal as the Rams windfall but an acceptable value IMO... and yet... nah, let's keep him and get rid of the proven receiving threat when bringing in an undersized QB that will be specifically leaned on to enable YAC to make the offense go.

Can't have the riff-raff in those sections. Those are for the real paying customers.

Panthers releasing Justin Houston… what a great signing
KSpan replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
He's been on IR since the start of November but didn't do much before that for sure. -
Nitpick word choice if you like even but ti's right there on the film. Those guys were not concerned about pressure, particularly obvious on the Mingo catch, or playing aggressive defense until after the Chark catch and it made life easier for Carolina. That's all I've even been saying this entire time. Nothing more, nothing less.
-
After having a sophomore slump, Brown has steadily improved and now ragdolls some of the best linemen in the game. A bright spot for sure and remarkably consistent.
-
Jesus Christ, you're in denial. I'm done and you're acting like a moron that didn't actually watch the video of the plays. Hint: if you had, you wouldn't be saying this. Screencaps don't show the play in motion. Nothing more to say here. You have nothing but a continual twisting of my words into something inaccurate since you're just flat out wrong.
-
I said prevent/contain, referring to the pass rush. It's pretty clearly man defense with safeties over the top but even then prevent is a concept moreso than an actual formation and refers to just wanting to avoid big plays. My words are being heavily twisted by a few folks.
-
That was 1 and like 4 plays into the drive right after Atlanta had just had a 6-minute drive. Atlanta and Carolina had split TOP until that point. You're the one not helping yourself here, and you are AGAIN ignoring that I'm referring to the DL - it's on the film, plain as day. At this point you're the only one still arguing against it, and you're flat out wrong. It's on the film. Arguing with what is on the film is just dumb. Accept it and move on.
-
Except that you're conveniently ignoring that I said contain/prevent, which has more to do with the way the rush is handled, as in pressure was not the priority. It's literally right there on the film, 4 DLs standing around waiting for Bryce to run until they changed after the Chark catch. I even linked the contrasting 4-man rush where Campbell got his sack earlier to illustrate the clear difference. But by all means, please feel free to keep misrepresenting my words and ignoring what the Falcons actually did and how it benefitted Carolina.
-
Just keep on ignoring it... keep right on. Not aggressively rushing the passer, which they were clearly doing at the start of the drive, is effectively similar.
