We were at the game last night and Tua had receivers open at the deep corners and to the perimeter all night. The Chiefs challenged him to take it while clamping down on the short and middle (god how great was it to see those DBs lighting up those short swing passes) and Tua/Miami had no answers. That TD lob to Tyreek was a serious rainbow even before the wind killed it too. In fairness, it was really, really cold. But Mahomes played in the same weather and the throws were moving fine for the most part. Big physical difference on display.

He did not look good tonight at all and the Chiefs defense smothered them. The Dolphins wilted very quickly and I have no idea wtf McDaniel was calling. And it is damn cold.

That's always been part of my argument against backing the truck up for Burns - he gets some stats but just doesn't impact the game. Not only do I not remember a single play this year, I can't recall a single memorable play from his entire career thus far even though I've watched majority of the games. It's an unscientific metric, but I feel like someone getting paid in elite money should have at least a handful of memorable plays... hell, even Jeremy Chinn has a few of those and he may not even be on the team next year.

I was in St. Louis that weekend for a conference and couldn't go to the game... we were just a block or two from the Dome. We made it back to the hotel at the end of the first OT, and when they lined up I told the guy next to me "Big play, Steve Smith, right here." The it happened and he bought me a couple of drinks for "being damn psychic". Good times all around but man did I want to bail on that conference and buy a scalped ticket. I like to think that the football gods smiled on my sacrifice.

Yes, they all sucked just like Bryce. Sucking is not zero-sum, and there was limitless suck to go around this year.

I am highly skeptical of Bryce's future and as critical as anyone, but I have to give him credit for toughness. Guy took a beating this year (a fair portion of it his own fault) and kept coming back. 27-13 defeat at the hands of the Giants in 2006. Weinke threw for 400+ but also a bunch of picks... was not a great day.

Man, I took so much heat this past year for pointing out exactly what many have finally figured out about Burns when the spotlight was on him this season... Just glad it's going to be done. Either they agree at a value based in reality or Burns moves on. End the dumb drama; this team is too bad for this nonsense.
