  1. The multiple posts above me pretty much said it all. Arizona did literally everything in their power to gift the game to Carolina, which is why Bryce padded some stats, and Bryce and the team STILL couldn't get it done. Dude is just not good enough to build on, full stop.
  2. Maybe, maybe not. If they said from day one that they were not sold on Bryce then the hirings may have been conditional on giving it a shot anyway given the investment. Lot of football yet to play this season but if things continue to go poorly and Bryce continues to appear subpar, then would not surprise me to see Morgan and/or Canales stay and the QB position be overhauled (yet again). For clarity, I think Tepper's ownership approach has been nothing but abysmal. Avoidable obvious mistake after avoidable obvious mistake. I have no confidence in any move he or the team makes at this point, simply pointing out a possible scenario.
  3. I honestly can not recall ever seeing anything like that final drive. Maybe the Deangelo Hall meltdown back in 2007.
  4. And if and one of the series of fluke events doesn't happen, it's an entirely moot point anyway. It took Kyler tossing that braindead interception, Arizona having multiple members of their secondary get injured and making a stunningly stupid call on that 3rd down heave down the field to stop the clock following by being completely inept on the inside kick, all the whole playing the softest coverage possible only rushing 4, and THEN gifting Carolina multiple first downs via penalties on that last drive for this to even be a discussion. Carolina has no control over that of course but to imply that Bryce or Carolina in general somehow worked competitive magic tonight back into the game vs AZ actively sabotaging their chances of winning is not at all reflective of what actually happened.
  5. Agreed that there are a laundry list of things wrong. However, improving QB and everywhere else are not mutually exclusive and should not be viewed as such. They are interrelated but if anything, getting the right QB in place should always be the top priority in today's NFL.
  6. Arizona could not have giftwrapped the game any more than they did and he still didn't get it done, full stop. They actually made it even easier for Carolina to win than they did last year. With that said, the only thing that matters is abundantly clear that Bryce is not a franchise QB, the only relevant standard of performance. These posts about the worst ever are hyperbolic but he is very clearly not a guy that elevates those around him. It is time to move on.
  7. I have never seen anything like this. Maybe DeAngelo Hall melting down back in Jake's days.
  8. The ref exhaling before making that call... he can't believe it either.
  9. Oh my god, the Cardinals are trying sooooo hard to hand this game to Carolina and Carolina doesn't want to take it.
  10. Which is not a particularly high bar in and of itself.
  11. Arizona doing their best to give the game away just like they did last year.
  12. Since Ruble's dumb ass was bent on getting rid of Cam anyway, If only Carolina would have brought Jameis in back in 2020 instead of Bridgewater... Not saying it would have yielded any more wins, but it sure would have been more entertaining.
  13. Do you not remember how quickly the tone of the player interviews changed that first week Bryce was benched last year? Players are still people too - they can respect their teammates and still be irritated at poor performance. Not mutually exclusive.
  14. Oh good lord, it's Cover 1 Robber - no need to make it sound like anything revolutionary. Legette was drifting deep rather than coming straight across (bad route running by him), and the safety was already driving up when Bryce chose to throw the ball. To the Jags credit this is exactly the type of play you call robber against (see comments about them reading Canales like a book) but between the predictable call and the crappy execution by both XL and Bryce this was as much on Carolina as it was Jacksonville making a great play.
  15. Fascinating that the Jaguars appeared fully prepared and able to anticipate what Carolina would do on both sides on the ball in week 1 of a brand new season.
  16. They may very well have mentioned that option during negotiations. Who knows how it all went down.
  17. Could be referring to Carolina's brain-numbingly dumb handling of the Burns situation. That would be the reverse of that quoted comment, which was referring to Green Bay.
