  1. Yeah, no. What a ludicrous stance to take.
  2. Problem was that he needed to drop the coach in too, but looking like they fumbled that as well for the time being.
  3. Been saying for years that Burns is a fantastic complementary piece and not a game-changer by himself - it was very clear. Guess it took the contract negotiation for it to finally be widely realized, as he just doesn't seem to have developed any farther.
  4. They were calling like 3 times a day at one point. It was way more than just email.
  5. FWIW, we went to a Sporting KC game a few months back, our first ever, and the follow-up calls and sales attempts were relentless. It was truly obnoxious.
  6. Come on now, no need for excuse after excuse. Dude just isn't very good. The stats reflect that pretty accurately, as does just watching him.
  7. All of it was under Wilks - why is that relevant? Dude didn't play until week 5 vs SF and that was one of his games over 3 targets (4 targets and 4 catches for 30 yards), so he has 12 games under Wilks with 24 catches as the de facto #2 receiver playing 65% of the snaps. He is not currently above replacement level and has never shown anything otherwise.
  8. What did he show exactly? He had 28 catches in 13 games, majority of those with 3 targets or less.
  9. Was hurt most of last year and is currently suspended for gambling for a few more games. Don't see them trading him this year.
  10. That's a given, just isn't how the NFL works these days
  11. Re-signing Jackson was a huge head-scratcher, just like re-signing Ian Thomas. Just... bad stuff.
  12. Firing Rivera was the right move. Tepper has just made wrong one after wrong one ever since.
  13. Considering how bad the NFCS was last year and how much better the AFC is as a whole right now then the NFC, and that the Texans played the NFCE last year, that means nothing.
  14. I'm 100% serious. To expand on that, the Rams/Chiefs game a few years back that so many rave about was some of the most boring crap football I've watched in a long time. Ridiculously overrated.
  15. I went to a local high school football game the other week where the teams scored 99 total points and the game lasted over 3 hours. It really was incredibly boring.
  16. Burns isn't being double-teamed much and certainly isn't making a $30M impact but saying he's done absolutely nothing is hyperbole. He's been doing what he's always done.
  17. Peyton threw a lot of picks but absolutely passed the eye test, throwing for 3700 yds and 26 TDs in that late-90s run-first period that hadn't died out quite yet. The rookie season is very young but Bryce is nowhere in that ballpark yet.
  18. Young is absolutley a big part of Carolina's offensive issues at the moment, but that doesn't mean he can't and/or won't get better. It's not a coincidence that the team looked more competent, or at least less incompetent, as soon as he was out. Again though, he's only one problem among many and there is plenty of runway for him to improve.
  19. Both guards are hurt and they went from a power-type offense to a zone-stretch, plus Sanders isn't that explosive. I think the guard play is the biggest factor though.
  20. No one is moving any goalposts. Wholesale overhaul of a team with new schemes, a rookie QB, and new skill position players is a near-guaranteed recipe for some struggle. Last year became irrelevant as soon as they went a different direction with Wilks and even moreso once they went all-in on a rookie QB, trading away the best receiver in the process.
  21. That was always a nonsensical take since the concern was on the failures of execution and the awful 'eye-test'. That doesn't lie.
  22. Well Luvu went out and things fell apart but Burns was (sort of) playing all game, though taken out on early/running downs for at least the second half, so I guess it helps shed light on who the more impactful player is.
