Man, zero chance they give that back at this point. That pick is worth more every week.

I did exactly that to an old G&L bass a few years back. Sounded like a brand-new instrument afterward.

I'm absolutely serious and yes, the objective is to get back to the Super Bowl and have a shot at winning, not to lose by one score in the playoffs year after year after year vs the best competition. For example, prior to the 2020 season Brees had only completed one pass over 35 air yards since 2017. https://www.espn.com/blog/new-orleans-saints/post/_/id/33372/how-saints-drew-brees-got-creative-to-make-his-41-year-old-arm-feel-live Has there been any other QB making it to the Super Bowl over the past 20-ish years that has that kind of limitation and doesn't have a legendary defense, a la Peyton being carried in 2015? No, certainly not Brees in 2009, and it's not that an offense has to consistently air it out but rather that they have to be able to capitalize on the few mistakes that a defense may make when the opportunity presents itself. Another more recent but absolutely relevant example: Alex Smith in KC. Exact same scenario as Brees; HOF playcaller, plenty of weapons, wins a lot in the regular season, can't get past the best in the playoffs. Enter Mahomes, who has a lot going for him of course but most importantly can make defenses pay downfield when the opportunity presents itself. I live in KC so know the Chiefs well; Mahomes was the only thing to change from 2017 to 2018, when the run of AFCCGs began, and the addition of Spagnuolo gave that extra element that Brees and the Saints had (defense) when Brees' arm was lacking. The rest is recent history. The teams that win Super Bowls can do that, and the threat of going downfield is always there. It's not a guarantee of success of course and football is a team sport, but that element is a huge advantage and possibly even a necessity in today's NFL. After a season of watching Teddy Bridgewater and us living it, seeing the defense collapse in and the offense just stop the second half of every game, Carolina fans have lived that limitation firsthand.

Godspeed, young Terrace.

Showing a big reason why the Saints couldn't get back over the hump for the past decade. Gotta be able to hit the home run on occasion vs. top competition when the opportunity presents itself against.

As shown in that Amazon special and the fact that they were pulling him for Hail Marys weeks before the Pitt game, his shoulder was already deteriorating. Maybe they manage to squeeze out the season but the clock was absolutely already ticking.

As far as the 2 of 7 comment, that is true as far as plays that stood, and several of the passes were right at/around the 20 yard mark. That said, he did do better beyond 15 last week. https://nextgenstats.nfl.com/charts/player/bryce-young/YOU124763/season

Oh can it, as if the team was ever much more than an occasional blip of the relevance radar while Richardson owned it. He was a POS at work and lost, which was the right move, and the NFL selling to Tepper doesn't change that even with the futility of the past 6 years. Now it's up to Tepper to figure it out and quit being an idiot. The hypocrisy involved with guys like Kraft is an entirely different matter and one that doesn't change Richardson's BS. Longing for the below-average old days because some other guys got away with BS is a sad state. If you truly feel that strongly don't like it, then prove it and cut the NFL from your life. Otherwise, deal with it and hope Tepper wises up, cause Jerry isn't coming back.

Super clean hit... I think he went 5-6 feet through the air. I agree with JT's points on how the protection, the route reads, Bryce's eyes, any/all of those failed in that situation.

No, any team is unlikely to win 11 in a row let alone a team as crappy as Carolina right now. Only 1 loss means they don't win out. Next question.

Jesus, that hit at 8:40 blasted Bryce up and back off his feet. Dude is a featherweight NOTE: For all the oversensitive Bryce protectors out there, this is not a barb. It's just an observation and is what it is.

Amen. As for my positivity, I'm positive that there is still football left to play this season. -

Intentionally? No, maybe not quite that many on average. But the best offenses are able to do so when the opportuntiy presents itself, e.g. someone gets beat, a coverage is busted, etc. That is where even teams like NO sorely lacked in Brees' final years, where Carolina lacked with Teddy, and where we don't know if they lack now because of the overall-offensive offense.

Well yes, because what's happening currently is terrible. I don't see how someone would want the status quo to continue. It's also accompanied by the understanding that Tepper is the root issue; the rest is generally just symptoms. Ideally at some point Tepper realizes he sucks at this football thing and changes his approach as well so that the on-field things can improve. -
Because guys that the game has 'passed by' make the best head coaches too...

Seeing him out of place year after year is just mind-boggling. It's not rocket science.
-
A guy like DJ Moore can help a QB look good. If only Carolina had someone like him.

And what the hell is Moton doing all the way out there?
-
I don't recall thinking that but I also wasn't paying a ton of attention. Would be interested to see it again if they do one of those 'every throw' videos.

Which was what?

Unlike Lawrence, Bryce needs to develop an arm as well. He has not shown anywhere near Lawrence's physical toolset, and that just makes Bryce's development curve that much steeper and that much more challenging, perhaps even that much less likely. No they won't - very few actively want the team to fail. Just like in 2010, if/when the team starts to win then doubts are organically quieted, unlike right now when there really isn't much positive to speak of. Your 'prophecy' is self-fulfilling.
