  1. And being optimistic 'just because it's the pick' is a crystal ball as well. Every opinion is just an opinion at this point, full stop. If someone doesn't like the pick, the basis for that dislike is not automatically less valid.
  2. I have no opinion since I couldn't care less about college football and know zilch about any player in the draft this year, but why does someone have to 'support the team and the player'? If they think it's a crap pick, call it like you see it. This team and David Tepper get no benefit of any doubt at this point.
  3. That comment was seriously one of the dumbest things I've heard come out of an NFL owner's/executive's mouth.
  4. Eh, I'm pretty cynical about the franchise at the moment but I'm not going to leap to a negative conclusion and assume that Canales' words are to be taken literally. However, if it's been stated explicitly somewhere that this is their first time working together then that changes the complexion of the answer.
  5. Damn the bar is low for this franchise if this is honesty that you 'gotta love'. Like, what else is he going to say?
  6. The news we were all holding our breath for. I will sleep better tonight.
  7. Says the guy with the "!?" In the thread title, indicating that you're taking it seriously to some degree or another. The best part about the draft is that all of the pre-draft nonsense (media, fans, and random podcasters alike) stops.
  8. Well crap, if a podcaster said it then it has to be true.
  9. One could easily argue the stakes are exactly the same since the objectives are exactly the same, and the challenges are perhaps greater in some ways since, while the NHL is generally accepted as the premier hockey league, there is still a respectable international hockey presence; America has an unquestioned monopoly on the football talent pool.
  10. Every one of these types of things takes me straight back to the Beason video. In shape and looked great right before he blew his knee out.
  11. I had no idea this was going on. Huh.
  12. Breaking news: team needs lots of talented players, may try to acquire more draft picks to do so. Story at 11.
  13. In all seriousness though, the continuity definitely isn't a negative and he seems to be a quality coordinator. Good odds that the team is better off for having him return.
  14. You're absolutely right with the 'never talk about' comment. Moton was drafted in 2017 and is going into his 8th year, 7th as a starter... just a steady, high-end presence at that RT spot.
  15. Sure they are, but college successes do not automatically translate to the NFL. That's all I'm saying.
  16. To be clear, it was an extension to an already-existing tax that supports the current sports complex where the stadiums are at. The question largely failed because the downtown stadium idea is stupid and rushed, and the data backing up the benefit is dubious at best.
