    Honest question - where is the 'lack of athleticism' critique coming from? I don't really follow pre-draft stuff that closely, so is it all from the scouting reports?

    Another guy whose struggles are perhaps more mental than physical. Hopefully you're right and the light has come on for him now rather than waiting for the season to start.

    His sentiment is perfectly reasonable when Byrd hasn't seen any game action and has participated in a whole 3 practices in pads. The coaches obviously see something and Byrd will get his shots in preseason, but to already declare him worthy of a spot on the 53 over guys who have actually played and produced in their roles in the NFL is silly.

    I imagine that somebody would pick up whoever gets cut between Glanton and Klein, so not sure that the PS eligibility will matter. If anyone has a shot at the PS I would think it's Mayo, though your prior comment about cutting draft picks still holds true.

    Roman Harper at free safety is the defensive equivalent of running a reverse with Cotchery. Did Shula sub for McDermott on that series?

    Yep. Mobile QB or not it is ideal to take the ends upfield and let them run themselves out of the play, giving the QB time to step up and into his throw. The poor guard play last year (pre Norwell and Turner) was a big reason why Cam looked so terrible at times.

    If you would pay the hamsters a livable wage you wouldn't get this kind of mutiny.

    With Martin, this buy time to get into camp and see what shakes out with other rosters. If the FO didn't panice last year, for better or worse they won't panic this year either. Besides, I really don't think they had any major expectations of Martin.

    The man was simply unstoppable in his prime, and that was with Jake Delhomme slinging the ball. Plus, I've never seen a non-RB player get tackled/make crazy catches inside the five as many times as Smitty... guy was probably 30 total yards away from another 10 or so career receiving TDs.

    I don't recall a single person thinking that Cutler deal was a good idea, and Drew Brees is a unique case because we all wanted to see the Saints saddle themselves with an unruly contract.

    I'm not a soccer fan but really enjoyed watching these last 2 games. With 3 boys 4 and under, might be time to start appreciating it more.

    Logic.. and reason? Applied to something in sports or, perhaps, even the media in general? HERESY!! BTW, this applies to not only Cam and the Panthers but really anything these days.
