  1. Only once the season starts, and only one player can be designated to return. Any roster moves for these guys during TC will be waivers.
  2. I think your post is a bit off-base, though the question is valid. He was on the Dolphins and Niners for 3 years each, went to AZ because Carolina couldn't/wouldn't match the money, and came back when he was beat out as a receiver in AZ and they realized they had overpaid. I think he's a solid returned and average WR who teams moved on from when they decided he wasn't going to be a star WR. I think Carolina has him valued perfectly and, based on 2013, also understands exactly how to use him (Shula notwithstanding).
  3. One could argue he's the definition because he does whatever (and perhaps whomever) he wants without regard for societal archetypes.
  4. I didn't even realize your post had words in it.
  5. Should add that I also turned my brother, who is 23, into a Panthers fan. His sister-in-law is a Saints fan, so they get into it from time to time.
  6. Fan since the inaugural season in 95, when I was 12 (turning 32 on Saturday). Living in Kansas City, I was never a fan of any local teams except the Royals, so the Panthers are my first and only NFL loyalty.
  7. Nonequivalent comparison is nonequivalent.
  8. Needs to be careful with the hands outside the pads, but he absolutely has the tools and mindset. I would think that Brockel would be his primary competition.
  9. We'll have none of that here. He's still clearly incompetent for not paying Torrey Smith $8M a year.
  10. Is that his mom? Who brings their mom to sign an NFL contract?
  11. There will be no bidding war - all teams are required by the CBA to offer essentially the same money. They can alter the structure and guarantees, but the dollar amounts will be essentially the same from all teams.
  12. Per CBA rules governing UDFAs the dollar amounts are pretty much exactly the same from all teams, maybe room for a few thousand difference in signing bonus or different levels of guarantees. This is why scheme fit, ability to play right away, and his preferred city are considered the main differentiators.
  13. Only a minor point, but Gettleman has said more than once that Collins was not graded as a first-rounder on their board.
  14. Then I'd say he's pretty far from clear and would be unlikely to sign with anyone.
