I'm partial to this version.

I find myself really digging some of Cold's stuff lately. Couldn't stand them back in the day but hey, whatever's clever.
-
But don't let that distract you from the fact that the Atlanta Falcons blew a 25-point lead in the second half of their loss to the Patriots in Super Bowl LI.

Just discovered that the lead singer from one on my favorite bands for headbanging noise (Skrape, early 2000s) joined with the guitarist and drummer from Mudvayne in a new band. Album is OK but I'm digging this track.

Klein might be worth something but Jacobs is not and it's tough to imagine them going into the season with zero veteran depth, and the same situation applies to the CBs... Gettleman doesn't cur draft picks. Garrett, however, I could see sneaking into the 53. As we're seeing though, anything seems to be possible these days.
-
If by "make the team" you're including practice squad then yes, that seems likely. I don't see 4 UDFAs making the final 53, particularly not 2 LBs on a team that has historically only carried 5 or 6.

The wrinkle is that Carolina's talent floor is already high and TC/the preseason is not a huge amount of time to evaluate a rookie newcomer when compared to someone (Dean Marlowe, Wegher ,etc.) who has been around for a year and already has upside. Draftees above the 5th round or so often make the team based on a combination of performance and potential but don't always immediately improve the team overall, and when you already have young guys who have been around for an entire season and have already shown potential then why not roll picks together and invest in someone who has a better chance of raising the talent floor?
-
That's what it is, or at least where I remember seeing that image.

It absolutely is appropriate because it's the exact same core comparison - at the end of the day, would you or would you not work for less than you're worth? If not, why should anyone else choose to and, more importantly, why should they be looked down upon for choosing not to? Your final two paragraphs come off as quite judgmental and holier-than-thou. Noting that you probably know zero NFL players on a personal level, and are therefore unqualified to characterize them, perhaps you should stop following a sport full of "money hunting aholes" if you're so disgusted by them.

Who says this wouldn't be to get every dime that the Panthers are willing to give, even if that's ultimately less than what other teams would offer? Maximizing earning potential can include getting the most from a given situation; in this case, it would be getting the most money while still playing "for a contender".
-
Would you go in today and take a voluntary 15-20% pay cut at your job? People have this notion that since a few more zeros are involved no one should care about money, but everyone wants to be compensated what they believe they're worth, particularly if the market supports it. Plus, while unlikely the possibility does still exist that a player could be severely injured or even crippled on any given play and never make another dime in the NFL. Unlike guys like CJ who have made bank and can feel comfortable leaving some money on the table, Norman has never had a big contract and this will pretty much be his only shot. I don't blame him one bit for looking to maximize his earning potential.

Carolina Panthers Top 3 Offseason Priorities
KSpan replied to Jeremy Igo's topic in Carolina Panthers
Stew had 242 carries for just under 1000 yards before getting hurt in Week 15, followed by another 50 carries for 220 yards throughout the playoffs. While Carolina definitely needs to look at upgrading the 2nd RB situation to lighten his load, Stewart is a perfect match for this offense and held up well this year. Is he overpriced compared to market? Probably, but IMO he earned his money grinding out very hard yards in this offense. Can Carolina just go out and replace him? Another question entirely, as he blocks relatively well, runs very hard, and is skilled in option looks. -

Ignoring that his overall approach seems to be to avoid huge-money FAs, if he was going to do that at any position DE sure seems like the best match. -
Randall only threw for 30 or more TDs twice (30 in 1990 and 34 in 98) and only threw more than 20 3 times (23, 24, and 21 in 87-89). He also maxed at 6 rushing TDs in 88, so his best year was 35 total TDs in 1998 (34 passing, 1 rushing). While you didn't hallucinate, Randall never had a year like Cam, and unlike Randall Cam looks poised to keep doing it.

I've made a couple of posts over there today and seem to be engaged with someone who is either trolling me or a blind homer. The general lack of knowledge about Carolina's actual on-field performance vs. the typical talking points has made me appreciate the league-wide knowledge that a number of folks on this board have.

Along the Sidelines - NFC Championship Game

Kony looks stone cold in Picture 5 of Slide 6, and that picture of Luke on Slide 17 is hilarious. -
Shut it Arians - you guys got your asses kicked by a superior team.

Love is too big to be able to spin that fast.

Maybe practice, maybe be ause it's now a true 27 pt. 4 possession game instead of AZ bring able to get 3 TDs, 3 2-point conversions and an FG to win. All about anticipating the opponent.
