  1. Which is an interesting choice given their offensive skill players. At this point in time Teddy seems like he would hamstring them, but maybe they're shifting philosophy (but even then...).
  2. I don't normally give the poo but this is its time to shine.
  3. Put a marketing spin on it - we're looking for 'value'.
  4. Fair enough on the timing but no one is trading for Teddy and expecting to contend, and especially with no offseason in the system, and no one else is taking that contract to be average. The point about restructuring remains the same and the only motivation he would have to restructure is if it somehow made a trade to a team where he could start more palatable, but I'll be very surprised if another team makes the same boneheaded move that Carolina made with him last year... not gonna pay tens of millions to be average or worse.
  5. Keeping more of his salary on the books and eating a roster spot is the exact opposite of what the team should be doing at this point. Darnold is going to be playing, if only to show what he has, and they were cool rolling with Walker and Grier last year, so they should do that again. No one is going to trade for Teddy in-season and expect to keep winning since he would have little to no insight into their system and he just isn't very good. If he isn't worth anything now they will cut him.
  6. By all means, please trade him within the division.
  7. I actually started him as a streamer that week. Was only expecting that he'd get like 12 garbage time points... oops.
  8. Given Rhule's talk of winning culture I assume they'd look to unseat a player who had failed so notably for nearly an entire season. No surprise if he felt they had to do 'something' even if we pretend the comments didn't happen.
  9. It will say more about the quality of their roster, and if that happened they will inevitably lose in the wild card or divisional yet again. They couldn't get over the hump with Brees, so what is Teddy gonna do?
  10. Darnold at least has some tools to work with and some circumstances that make him more of an unknown. Teddy pretty clearly hit his ceiling as soon as he came into the NFL. Darnold should at least be more entertaining, either in 'winning games' fashion or 'losing with style' fashion. Either way, I'll give the FO some credit for taking action. Here's hoping it turns out well.
  11. Only as long as they make every kicker wear 99 and every punter wear 72.
  12. I was saying that ironically and agree with you on the whole. The value of QBs is at an all time high right now and there's not much the team can do about that but to have a guy like Jones suddenly elevate to the top doesn't seem to end well when it happens.
  13. I do like how from forever it's been the 'Top 4', but in the past week or two has turned into the 'Top 5'.
  14. Exactly. The issue comes in when such a QB is also unable to drive the ball down the field. Mahomes (an extreme example chosen to highlight the point) gets a lot of passing yards like this, but there is zero question about if he can also drive it down the field.
  15. Brings me back to my original question though - who were they so concerned about taking Jones before the 12th pick?
  16. Nah. Watched him week in and week out for many years here in KC and they're pretty comparable. Smith maybe throws a couple fewer interceptions. This is the QB that went 21 straight games without throwing a single TD to a WR that we're talking about here.
  17. Because Alex Smith is Teddy if perhaps ever so slightly better. There is zero reason to sign him, especially so with Teddy on the roster.
  18. Fell free to evaluate McShay's track record here and then decide if you stand by this statement as a positive or not. https://www.espn.com/nfl/draft2018/story/_/id/23115321/todd-mcshay-nfl-draft-grades-every-first-round-qb-2008-plus-2018-top-qbs
  19. Ah, well that certainly explains it. The guy I thought was CMC is probably not...
  20. If true, who were they so worried about taking him before the 12th pick? Lynch and the Panthers guys laughing together ...

    FINISH HIM!!!

    Those were $500 sunglasses, a$$hole.
  22. Eh, need some details here. Seemingly not a position he should be in at all even if he's ultimately not charged but impossible to conclude anything without the full story. A touch more information found here. References to Cleveland's gang unit are a wrinkle. https://www.cleveland.com/metro/2021/03/new-orleans-saints-cornerback-marshon-lattimore-arrested-in-cleveland-sources-say.html
