  1. Eh, Mangum had some big quads. In Fox's mind that probably counted.
  2. Pretty sure it was you who said this exact nonsense when Teddy's contract was being discussed and lo and behold, Teddy agreed to a major restructure for less money because he stood to gain in the big picture. Sam doesn't even have to give up any money in this scenario like Teddy did. It's all speculation at this point anyway. There are a lot of different possibilities that certainly include Sam still being around next year, and this thread is just one of them.
  3. I typically agree but given the size, I think it depends on how the team finishes the year. If they turn it on and progress then it may be advantageous to have a big chunk of that available next season. If they suck and backslide, making Rhule's seat hot, then perhaps you take the hit to be completely clear for 2023 in case Rhule falls flat on his face in year 3 and is replaced.
  4. He literally just stood straight up and invited the DT to drive him directly into the backfield. Like, how does an NFL player even display such a god-awful lack of technique?
  5. Wtf is Trent Scott (#78) doing in that clip? That is shockingly atrocious.
  6. I don't really agree with the poster you were responding to but being a better coach than Rhule isn't a high bar at the moment, and even now Carolina still made the right overall move in letting Ron go. His time in Carolina had run its course and he's picked up right where he left off there in Washington. Issue in Carolina is did they choose the right guy to replace him, and while that's still TBD the data are building and it's a mystery. With respect to Rhule 'Gives up on QBs' isn't accurate at all, but it's absolutely fair to call the talent evaluation into question. Teddy is a bottom tier starter at best (looks exactly the same in Denver) and Sam was a reclamation project that started strong and then nosedived and ultimately sidelined due to injury. Cam was damaged goods when Rhule started and he and his rookie staff had some tough lessons with the failed Teddy experiment last year, and unfortunately may have repeated them with Sam. Lot of reason to think Cam is as much a business and football decision but no question he brings the offense up. To some up: Ron is better if only due to actual NFL experience (starting Haskins with the playoffs on the line and cutting him the next day... hilarious), but not tough to do given what Rhule has shown to date, and the QB situation is a product of talent evaluation much moreso than coaching.
  7. They haven't found a solution to the 5 and 6 iso(ish) and power that come straight at Burns and Reddick. Not knocking those guys specifically but I get vibes of that 9-wide defense Philly was lambasted for in years past.
  8. What a playcall! Complete redemption after that sneak.
  9. I'm sorry, but it's not truly Baldy's Breakdowns unless it's him recording his TV with an iPhone 7 and cutting off like a third of the screen.
  10. Aaron didn't get flagged for taking his helmet off, so probably not at all. Cam was flagged for the helmet, not the celebration.
  11. I'd bet significant money it was a lighthearted moment and whatever was said, even if 'don't do it again' is verbatim, was put out in such a manner. Any way of it I'd be very surprised if there was any kind of issue that arose down the road, either with Cam or Rhule. The fact that Rhule called Cam at all means he knows what side his bread is buttered on and will handle things accordingly, and Cam is a mature player. They will be fine.
  12. Such a comment would be specifically telling him not to take his helmet off again given that that's what Cam was penalized for. Seems a pretty cut and dry thing that doesn't tread on Cam's personality, as I don't recall him ever getting such a penalty before.
  13. Eh, any kickoff can be returned and it's quite literally the job of the coverage team to tackle a returner. The penalty would factor since it all be ensures a return but the responsibility split would be like coverage team 99%/Cam 1%, if that, for your scenario.
  14. Cam came right out in his postgame and said it was completely on him and that he told Rhule it would never happen again. This is a nonstory.
  15. I know that in true Rivera fashion there is a very real possibility of them coming out and looking like a D2 team even after beating Tampa last week. Can't count on it of course, but the odds are not negligible.
  16. And I continued off of your point to say that Cam's action is different than Teddy. I don't disagree that it's a similar response.
