NFL.com ranks Carolina 2022 draft class as worst in NFC South
NAS replied to rebelrouser's topic in Carolina Panthers
If we had Ickey in SB50, we win. That's how good of a pick he is. -
I know was responding to the original tweet. Should’ve clarified
-
This so dumb. You’re telling me the Bengals, Charger and Bills haven’t found their QB since they haven’t won the SB yet?

SI Prediction: Colts look to trade Jonathan Taylor in 2023
NAS replied to Proudiddy's topic in Carolina Panthers
No thanks. We already traded CMC, why would we replace him with another expensive RB? Rather draft a RB in later rounds for depth and Chiefs have proven you can find good ones in later rounds (i.e. Pacheco) if you're good at scouting them. -
Carr seems to have regressed badly. Even his buddy Devanta Adams didn’t shed tears when he was benched and released
-
Nobody says it's less risky, but it's a risk you have to take at some point instead of being a pussy and hoping you can reclaim someone else's garbage. He also doesn't fit the category because he was a franchise QB who was available as a one year rental. I don't think anyone is interested in having to find another QB next year.
-
Cam shouldn't be on the list because he already proved himself as a franchise QB and unfortunately injuries prematurely ended his career. These same people will use the "did not win a superbowl" argument to not include Cam in a list of successful #1 overall picks. They would consider Dan Marino a bust by the same logic .

Stop it, nobody says it's a shoo-in, but doing the same thing over and over is definition of insanity. We need to do our research and draft a quarterback in the first round and see where the chips may fall. The part that you wont' say is that we already KNOW that the free agents we signed or you want to sign are not franchise quarterbacks because they already FAILED somewhere else. At least with our own draft choice, we have a chance to do something...
-
No myth. I would just rather we succeed or fail with our own QB selection than take on any more discarded trash
-
Why the Panthers will draft a QB in the first round Colts: 1. Jacoby Brissett 2. Philip Rivers 3. Carson Wentz 4. Matt Ryan 5. Nick Foles Panthers: 6. Kyle Allen 7. Teddy Bridgewater 8. Sam Darnold 9. Baker Mayfield 10. PJ Walker

Has Derrick Brown played in this scheme before?
-
He was close with Jake Delhomme as I recall.
-
No because you lose your only consistent pass rusher. You can't take a step back on defense if you're bringing in a young QB.
-
I think the whole accumulation of draft picks is overrated as proven that the New England model faltered once Tom Brady left. Without a franchise QB, you have no chance at legitimately competing for a SuperBowl, you do everything you can to get that right, within reason. IF the staff have conviction of a QB in the draft, you do what it takes to get him. If there's no conviction, then stay put. Once you have your QB, then you can go back to the norm and save your picks to build the roster.

Sorry the idea of playing with Brisett and Minshew and waiting another year for a QB is truly nauseating.
-
It's not just about sacks, realistically Burns should have had even more sacks but he's been really good at pressuring the QB regardless. This roster is a QB away from going to the playoffs. You have to take advantage of a window when it presents itself, instead of trying to worry about future draft picks. Thee players and the coaching staff won't be around forever.

I have no problem with it. You need to pay your draft picks, at premium positions, who have lived up to the billing which he has. Pass rushers aren't easy to come by

They should hire Steve Smith to be an assistant WR coach and watch them fight it out.
-
I would rather trade away picks than proven pass rushers who are yet to reach their prime.
-
Other than Joe Brady lol we all thought we struck gold. Rhule era was embarrassing

If Brown does well he will be a head coach within 2-3 years
