  1. He's got to hit on both fronts - Get the right culture installed with him and Canales - Get the right players, not just for the culture, but talent, development. This is the NFL, it's ultimately about the X's and O's
  2. I agree, I don't think he has a choice at this time. Just saying, the expectations have been reset from a "force multiplier" to a "game manager". Let's hope he can be as good as Purdy I guess
  3. So he wants him to be 1/11, that's the very definition of a game manager QB. Hardly worth a 1st round pick, let alone what we gave up to get him. But it is what it is, at the very least give him a year to see if he can show any promise, if not, make sure you get it right in 2026 draft.
  4. Let's pump the brakes, he won't have Andy Reid or Kelce for another 10 years. Not to say that Mahomes can't win without them, but to be able to win multiple superbowls you need continuity in both coaching and talent around you like Brady had.
  5. Rodgers didn't do this in playoffs. Tom Brady is still the best based on doing it for two decades but Mahomes will unseat him if he continues for another 6 or 7 years.
  6. Purdy is a system QB and is really good in that system. But he's not a QB who can improvise a lot or take over a game like Mahomes or other elite QBs.
  7. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/harrison-butker-sets-all-time-super-bowl-record-with-nine-total-field-goals-made And of course, he's not setting SuperBowl records The rising tide lifts all boats. Kickers, too. Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker, who has now played in four Super Bowls, set the all-time career Super Bowl record last night with nine field goals. He added four in the 25-22 overtime win over the 49ers. Three of his field goals on Sunday were shorter than extra points — 28, 24, and 29. He added a Super Bowl-record 57-yarder, breaking the brand-new record set earlier in the game by 49ers kicker Jake Moody, from 56. (Moody, by the way, became the first kicker to hit two field goals in the same game from 50 or more yards away.) Butker also tied the record for most field goals made in a single Super Bowl, and for the most attempted in a career, with 10. There was a moment when Butker arguably was on the radar screen for potential MVP consideration. If he’d finished with five field goals, including both the one to force overtime and possibly a long one to win the game, who knows? Regardless, he’s in the record books, both for what he was able to do in the game and because he’s on a team that has played in four Super Bowls in five years.
  8. Used car salesman lied again - shocking!
  9. Stroud has matured amazingly from the pre draft interviews for now. He's already a pro's pro, will continue to ascend. I hope he's right about Bryce, but not sure he has the physical tools to match the desire
  10. It seems like Bengals will tag him but if he becomes unrestricted FA, would you be willing to give him #1 WR $$$? 4. WR TEE HIGGINS, CINCINNATI BENGALS Potential landing spot(s): Carolina Panthers, Jacksonville Jaguars, New England Patriots It’s no secret the Carolina Panthers desperately need wide receiver help, and Tee Higgins played his college ball at Clemson, so it would be a return to the area. Jacksonville has a good slot receiver in Christian Kirk, and even if the Jaguars did retain Calvin Ridley, he profiles as more of a move/Z-receiver at this stage of his career. Higgins brings the big-bodied X-receiver skill set to town, unlocking more deep passing for Trevor Lawrence and a big, reliable target down in the red zone where Jacksonville struggled mightily in 2023. Higgins played with Lawrence for two seasons at Clemson, so why not get the duo back together? The Patriots need more wide receiver help than any team in the NFL, so they should be in on every name. New England is flush with cap space and could use the No. 3 overall pick on a quarterback. Putting that quarterback in a similar position as Mac Jones — lacking legitimate wide receiver talent — would be a bad idea. https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-2024-nfl-free-agency-potential-landing-spots-for-top-quarterbacks-and-wide-receivers
  11. So when do we get confirmation that he’s staying?
  12. Which is why having Jim Caldwell would be good for him
  13. He seems more genuine than used car salesman Rhule and more energetic than sleepy Reich. That’s already an upgrade lol

    Olsen

I remember Olsen calling out before the start of the second half last night exactly what 49ers need to exploit and they almost did it like it was scripted. He's brilliant

    Evero

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Evero's defense is just fine as long as he fits into Canales' vision for the type of culture he wants to instill
  16. What is Walter Football, are those some guys in the basement acting like experts?
  17. I hope Canales gets to pick his own staff instead of Dave trying to get too cute
  18. Are you sure you’re not talking about the Dolphins?
  19. They probably put feelers out and he wasn’t interested
  20. This! He was never a Yes man and he was often the only dissenting voice in the room. Hopefully he can now turn things around
