A lot of coaches and players say that, I think it actually is how they operate under Matt Rhule. It instills a lot of confidence. Rivera never knew how to handle success.

I really like that he’s not allowing the team to get too high after beating the Saints. In the press conference he talked a lot about the focus being on the next game and what everyone needs to do to improve. Let’s see what happens Thursday because Texans will not be an easy out

Yes I know but we may as well use it now

Looks about right

Thus tweeted Carolina wide receiver Robbie Anderson after the Panthers skunked the Saints 26-7 Sunday in Charlotte. It’s cool to credit the reborn Sam Darnold for the Panthers’ 2-0 start, or maybe Christian McCaffrey’s 324 scrimmage yards. Those are big things. (In fact, for Darnold to be throwing 18 times with a second-half lead tells me coach Matt Rhule and offensive coordinator Joe Brady trust him to be careful with the ball.) Darnold and McCaffrey are factors, but neither is the biggest one. The unit led by Snow, the 65-year-old defensive coordinator, is the biggest reason Carolina shares the NFC South lead with Tampa Bay this morning. Carolina, in two games, has allowed 22 first downs and 21 points to the Jets and Saints. Composite first-half score: Panthers 33, Jets/Saints 0. The beatdown of New Orleans was notable because the Saints put a 38-3 beating on the Packers last week, and Jameis Winston played peerless football. On Sunday, Winston was harried consistently by a changed pass-rush, and Alvin Kamara managed five rushing yards on eight carries. What gives? Snow, who came to Carolina from Baylor with Rhule 20 months ago, played a 4-3 “over” front last year, with the defensive front shading toward the tight end side and the edge players most often in a three-point stance. This year, wanting to get athletic edge players Haason Reddick and Brian Burns away from the line, Snow had them stand up and allowed free-agent defensive tackle DaQuan Jones and young Derrick Brown to occupy in-line blockers. Last year, the Panthers were 31st in the league in third-down defense. This year, foes have converted only 25 percent (six of 24) on third down. Snow adjusted, wisely, and his pass-rush (10 sacks in two weeks) and run defense (46.5 yards per game) says he’s made the right adjustments. Now the Panthers have a short turnaround to a Thursday night game at Houston, with Snow’s men likely to face rookie Davis Mills in his first NFL start. No one could imagine a 3-0 start for Carolina, but it’s on the horizon. Peter King https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2021/09/20/ravens-chiefs-oweh-nfl-fmia-week-2-peter-king/

We tried to score from our 23 with 23 seconds left in the half…
NAS replied to Donald LaFell's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yes I loved it but was also mad that we had needlessly used up all of our timeouts. We flipped the script on the Saints yesterday. -
Pro or College - whatever we're running works. Brees can laugh all he wants but he wouldn't have been much better than Jameis yesterday because last year he could just pick on Whitehead all day.

Thanks but this doesn’t really explain it. He admits it’s something they need to figure out
-
Can someone explain to me what happens to our offense in the second half? The most notable thing is Darnold appears to have much less time to throw.
-
Panthers may have forced them to start Hill the next game. Winston may be done as a starter
-
Props to Cowherd, he called it
-
We had a thread about this several days ago. Lame
-
And he’s already 28. If he develops into a legit starting QB it would be quite remarkable
-
No he thought about Jets may cover but picked the Panthers at -4.5 last week
-
He went 3 - 2 last week
-
Lol I am looking for optimism
-
Just picked Panthers to win against the Saints (-3.5) citing the Matt Rhule effect and called them a well coached offensive team. He cited that the Panthers have the fewest amount of three and outs in the Rhule era. He’s a big fan of Darnold too.
-
No doubt he is a quality backup but ironically he will be more like Fitzpatrick, a great backup but not a franchise QB
-
He’s played only 3 games from what I recall. Let’s pump the brakes a bit
-
Stranger things have happened but I’m afraid it’s fools gold.
-
He balled out last night but the media is hyping him up too much. He’s going to fall back to earth very hard.

Gano cost us werk 1 victory in 2016 against Denver, first game after SB loss. That’s when the fans turned on him. Hindsight is 20/20 but we seem to have bad luck with kickers.

We're not exactly flying high right now. I think this team isn't going to get too far ahead of themselves so I think this will be a very close loss, field goal or less. After this game, people will say, "Panthers are better than we thought".
